Flexible WAF with additional features

  • February 28, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The WAF flexibility allows it to protect a lot of different technologies using well-fitted sets of rules.
The support and responsiveness are also awesome.
What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that we need to work with false-positives and "educate" the WAF (but that is probably inevitable).
Also, there are some problems with creating custom rules.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Wallarm to detect and prevent attacks.
It also provides a testing feature FAST, which is very helpful to prevent vulnerabilities.

Next Gen WAF for the win

  • February 25, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is pretty easy to use and install since it is just a module for nginx.
Complex and thorough though logical and comprehensible system of "Hints".
Fast response from the support team 24/7.
What do you dislike about the product?
No DDoS protection.
Low quality of brute detection.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is our first layer of protection to fend off the external as well as internal attackers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take some time to learn its functionality - there is more to it than seen on the first sight.
And be ready to clean a lot of false positives at first^ but that is a general rule for any WAF.

Few issues appeared in blocking b64 jwt cookies, but it was quickly resolved by WAF developers in next version of detection rules.

1,5 years together in production with successful growth up to x10 requests

  • February 23, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The system is quick to learn and makes it possible to teach by marking the hits as fall positive.
Friendly UX.
IP-blocking mode.
24x7 support
What do you dislike about the product?
1) It took 6 months to remove all false-positive to make blocking mode in production. it's not on the tool itself, just to be aware of implementing it.
2) If you are looking at DDoS also, many of them have WAF also. And WallArm doesn't have DDoS. So it would be better to use one vendor for that.
3) Price
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use WAF to protect our service from attacks.
