I use Grammarly mainly for checking grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure in emails, assignments, and professional content. I like that it works quietly and efficiently while I'm writing and points out mistakes that I might not notice on my own. The suggestions for grammar, sentence clarity, and tone are especially helpful, making my writing sound more polished without feeling unnatural. It's convenient to quickly accept or ignore suggestions without having to proofread everything from scratch. I also appreciate how easy it was to set up Grammarly; I just installed the extension, signed in, and it started working perfectly with the apps and websites I normally use. The integration with tools like Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Gmail, and Chrome is really handy because I can get suggestions directly while writing.

What do you dislike about the product?

One thing I think could be improved is that some suggestions can feel a little too strict or repetitive, especially when I'm intentionally using a casual writing style. Sometimes Grammarly changes a sentence that is already understandable and sounds natural to me. The premium features can also feel a bit expensive if you only need the basic corrections. I'd like to see more context-aware suggestions that better understand the difference between formal, casual, and personal writing. Sometimes the suggestions feel too generic, so having more control over the tone and the type of writing would be useful. I'd also like fewer repetitive suggestions and better explanations for why a change is recommended. It would be great if the free version included a few more useful features as well, especially for students and occasional users.

I use the free version. After a couple of updates, I think it now uses AI, and it has become way better.

It tends to add a comma just before the and, and this drives me mad.

It's a very good autocorrect tool. It also suggests better versions of the text. I really liked it. It's a pity that you have only ~2-3 Pro suggestions per day.

Grammarly's most impressive feature is that it integrates seamlessly with nearly any writing app or browser window, without interrupting your workflow, picking out mechanical typing mistakes and stylistic fallacies as they happen.

Grammarly features expensive subscriptions, rigid stylistic corrections that flatten unique authorial voices, occasional context blindness, and potential data privacy concerns.

I find it particularly good at catching preposition slips that are easy to miss, especially since English is my second language. It saves me from sending something with a small mistake in it by flagging errors as I type. The initial setup was one of the easier ones, as it worked in my emails and documents straight away.

It doesn't always know what kind of writing I am doing. When I am writing something casual, it still pushes it toward formal and when I am writing creatively it flags things I did on purpose.

Grammarly helps me structure writing, corrects grammatical errors, creates flow, and catches preposition slips, which I usually miss when rereading. It's especially helpful since English is my second language, ensuring I don't send work with small mistakes.

The icon and where it appears. It is always positioned above a button or at the end of the text on the right-hand side, which makes it difficult to move. It should be placed in the margins halfway down the page, where there is usually nothing.

Starting off the school year is a lot because then there’s homework and fast paced learning I can actually prep myself before stepping into class

It is very easy to use and helps me write correct, error-free English sentences. It also offers multiple features like AI detection, rephrasing, and a plagiarism checker. The UI is simple, clean, and straightforward, which makes it even easier to use. Customer support is very responsive as well. The price is also affordable, and it becomes even more affordable with a yearly subscription.

For me, it works perfectly. I didn’t find anything to dislike about Grammarly.

It helps me write error-free English sentences. With the AI feature, I can also create more sentences when I need them. It also gives me the option to rewrite sentences in a relevant tone, such as formal, casual, short, or professional.
