It has been good, but it takes a lot of practice
What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can organize all of the footage accordingly and that you have so much freedom while managing the audio in relation to video. I also like that it allows you to have many editors in one project. In addition, the myriad of options when it comes to editing is very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that the process is so systematic and not too intuitive when it comes to bins. It takes a couple of times to be able to get comfortable with the system, especially because there are so many options that it might be hard to get used to them and take advantage of them and use them properly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a broadcast network so all of our news bits and promos are edited in Avid. The best benefit is its ability to have so many editors working in one project.

Get familiar with the program and you will have a lot of success with it in the future.

Infinite crashes. Please work on to improve this.

Good for bigger projects and multiple users.
It gets the job done
What do you like best about the product?
There are so many features offered in this product. This allows for unique customization of the editing process. The many shortcuts make the product efficient to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
This product constantly has errors which disrupts my work. It also isn't as easy to integrate with photoshop as the Adobe products.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use this for editing and exporting videos. A benefit is the efficient editing process.

Use this product if you need an efficient way of editing videos. This product has so many features which makes any creative decision possible. The shortcuts make this product simple to use, even if its daunting at first.
The industry standard
What do you like best about the product?
AVID is great because it does nearly everything you need to, in some customizable form or another. It's also the main editing program used in most major television/film projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
AVID has many errors/bugs, and frequently crashes. It's also decidedly not user-friendly or accessible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As I said previously, it's the industry standard for editing, and thus is worthwhile for that reason.

Take some time to learn all the features and play around with.

Avid is designed for advanced editing, so it has tons of features other video editing software might not have. It's a little complicated to learn but offers you a lot of options once you get it,.
What do you dislike about the product?
I almost feel it has too many features. For example, in Edius, audio and visual are locked together in any given clip, though you can separate them through an additional step. Avid does not automatically link a clip's audio/visual. But 99 percent of the time I want my audio/visual to match up, so I don't need this option to be automatic. It just takes more time for me to click the "link" button for every single clip.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My main output is video, and I create media for broadcast and internet with Media Composer.

What do you like best about the product?
There are so many advanced features that can help with editing your video to the exact second. Once you learn how to use the program, it is simple to use. There are also a lot of user guides available on the internet to help you in need.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are so many features, which is a good thing. However, if you are new to video editing, I would not recommend starting with avid if you do not have the experience. You need to have a basic understanding before jumping right into this software.
Avid is is a little tricky since you need to import the correct video format. Otherwise it can be a pain trying to convert your footage before you even start editing.

Avid is beneficial to editing videos for promotional purposes. From quick videos to long projects, I highly recommend Avid. The effects provided help catch an audience's attention.

If you are well versed and skilled in video editing, definitely invest in Avid. It is a great program to teach beginners and it is great for intermediate users as well. It is a bit pricey, but more cheaper than other programs that are out there.

Best Editing Software. Period.
What do you like best about the product?
Media Composer has been around for a while, and for good reason. The interface is based on digitizing non-linear video editing, which allows you to do anything from a simple video for social media to create a full feature. Media Composer's biggest strength is the level of detail it allows you to reach in editing your videos. It does not only let you cut and place videos to create scenes - but totally morph, and color correct the image. On top of that, Media Composer has many many plug-ins to in case you need to work on any special features or effects. It is a suite.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like many professional software, Media Composer's interface is not user-friendly at all. Using the software and unlocking its true potential requires many hours of training. Even simply splicing, organizing videos in bins and exporting would require some degree of training. If you're looking to create a simple photo montage to show your family at dinner, this is not the right software. However, if you want to create a professionally-looking video, Media Composer can help you achieve that.

Video creation for social media, branded video creation
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Media Composer has a lot of potentials to allow you to create any type of video with your footage: from science fiction films to branded videos and wedding videos. The potential is huge. However, it requires training since it is complicated to use. Video editors specialize in it for a reason. I would recommend experimenting with the software, watching training videos and learning how to steer this mighty ship before going on your first professional project.

What do you like best about the product?
There are many things that can be done in terms of editing your music. I can’t even begin the count how many different sounds there are in case you wanted to make your own beats or songs

This slows down my computer from time to time, but other than that, I don’t have many complains. This software does it jobs so just like that it exceeds other software
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was able to make some simple beats to play as background music for a video I was making, all using media composer. It was pretty simple, I recommend this to anyone who wants to create simple music
