Great Product to decrease integration time.
What do you like best about the product?
Readme is very feature rich. It makes it simple for the technology team to make their changes known to integrating partners as well as business and marketing to give their touch to the documents. It makes it easy to display changes, highlight "good to knows" and even proivde recipes for integrating.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I would like to change is make it easier for the technology and business to work together on pages. When the page is taking the docs straight from the code, it makes it hard for business to add their touch as it will get overwritten every time. If the pages could be hybrid or have some locking functionality that would be fantastic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We work with many different levels of technology teams to integrate with our software. ReadMe makes it easy for all levles to pick up our documents for our many differnt products and begin integrating with us right away. We often get compliments on our docs, which is a big shoutout for ReadMe.
An Easy Solution for Deploying REST API Docs
What do you like best about the product?
ReadMe greatly simplifies deploying API docs to our userbase, with easy CI setup and straightforward processes for configuring layout and navigation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some customization options could be useful to have, but aren't available yet - like renaming certain sections in accordance with what our team uses ("workflow samples" instead of "recipes", for example).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ReadMe makes it easy to present user-friendly REST docs to an audience that may not necessarily know how to interpret a Swagger page.
ReadMe is easy to use and designed well for simple APIs
What do you like best about the product?
ReadMe offers best practices right in the box. You don't need much background in good API development as simply following all the steps helps. It supports markdown and the UX looks and feels good. There is a lot of automated features like suggestions, changelogs, home pages, code snippet that automates the process.
What do you dislike about the product?
Full OpenAPI 3.0 support is still quite lacking. In our case have to make a script that crawls all our objects so that ReadMe is unable to process it naturally. It does not have a native notion of what a shared Shema is. This is where Redoc excels at.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saving us a lot of time with building a developer portal. We don't see fancy customization and mainly need to build stuff using very little time.
The ultimate documentation tool
What do you like best about the product?
I love that ReadMe allows us to build a variety of content including change logs and guides. It is easy to use and the content created is rich and engaging for readers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing, we really like the product at InSkill
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ReadMe lets us maintain all of our published documentation in one place.
Easy to use, looks great, fantastic support
What do you like best about the product?
Support is amazing, and the product makes it super easy to generate good looking docs
What do you dislike about the product?
I always want more configuration, but readme is pretty great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Readme helps API first companies generate great docs easily
Great product for simple, clean customer documentation
What do you like best about the product?
-really easy to use guides
-integrations for simple formatting (bold, italicize, link, integrations) - this allows for enough expression without cluttering the page
-very responsive support team

What do you dislike about the product?
-landing page after login is rather confusing, lots of different widgets and options
-formatting text options take a while to get used to
-interface for suggesting and merging edits is a bit confusing

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating simple technical documentation that can be easily shared with our client base. This product doesn't provide a lot of different options - which actually makes it really easy to get started and get the documentation off the ground
Quickly and easily create technical docs that people will love
What do you like best about the product?
From an administration perspective, the CI integration made it very easy for our entire technical team of engineers to be able to contribute to documentation writing.
On the end user side, the navigation, permalinks, and real-time API tests are very cool. The Recipes are a great feature that we will be increasingly taking advantage of.

What do you dislike about the product?
We are early users so we do not see much to dislike at the moment. It is very tailored to technical documentation, it would be nice to be able to consolidate all of our product resources in one place. That doesn't seem realistic with Readme.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Readme stores, organizes, and displays our technical product documentation. This includes our API docs and technical setup. We host code examples and "how-tos" as well
Provides our developers with best-in-class documentation.
What do you like best about the product?
The ability for our users to test our APIs right in the developer hub is extremely useful. In addition to that, being able to provide developers with recipes that guide them on how to develop more challenging concepts & features is very valuable. Readme takes a lot of the work out of surfacing content in a way that is useful to developers and lets us focus on the actual content.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features are not 100% functional yet. Some of our APIs leverage file-uploads and readme's file-upload feature does not work (yet). That being said, the code snippets generated are accurate and helpful even though the 'Try It!' button does not fire off a successful API call.
8/3/2022 update - readme has improved the file upload functionality and now our developers are able to test even more effectively than before. Thanks readme team!

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using readme has allowed us to adjust our collaboration workflow so more people can collaborate on our docs with less friction. On top of that, we have had challenges in the past with surfacing our technical docs in a way that is digestible for developers and Readme has alleviated a lot of that with the way content is organized out of the box.
Readme at SmartReach
What do you like best about the product?
Updating and adding help aricles, and a seamless UI for users
What do you dislike about the product?
The features are very restricted in the basic plan
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving help article related problems, adding articles related to our tool
Great software an amazing team
What do you like best about the product?
Documenting APIs, both for OpenAPI specs and custom ones, was easy to do. The CMS system is simple and easy to use and never had an issue with losing work. Fast and responsive.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a dark mode (although apparently one is coming) and more default theme options, although they do support custom CSS.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed better developer API docs and needed a great turn-key solution. We also needed a solution that supported both OpenAPI specs as well as custom specs, and Readme.io was able to do both.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Exactly the tool we were looking for to improve our developer and API documentation.
