Great product

  • July 20, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Great user experience. The platform is intuitive and easy to use, there are small details like the owl that just make using the product more enjoyable. The API functionality is great and it's easy to submit a product request. I also appreciate the transparency and accessibility of the product roadmap right from the help page.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since it is in markdown, there is a bit of limited functionality. For example, if you numbered lists are sometimes difficult to create if you have an image or other break in between items. Also, would be nice to be able to incorporate files that are not links.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ReadMe provides a customer-facing platform for our API documentation and technical product requirements.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The facility to document the APIs through the graphical interfaces, the latest update has improvements to further enrich the documentation.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a better opportunity, I would add a more accessible API component definitions management option.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Avoid sending static documentation documents, without any standard and that become obsolete over time, we have to give a better image to the buyers.

What do you like best about the product?
The OAS upload functionality has optimized and automated our API specification updating component of our release and deployment process!
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much to dislike, I suppose the complexity of API credential management through single sign on is the most difficult component of ReadMe.com
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ReadMe.com has revolutionized our approach to managing public documentation and API specifications. The intuitive interface is a breeze to navigate, saving us significant time while also reducing errors through the automatic OAS upload feature. This ensures our API documentation is always current and reliable.

ReadMe.com has simplified our documentation process, increasing our productivity and team synergy. Highly recommended for any company seeking an efficient, automated documentation tool.

What do you like best about the product?
Great integration with OpenAI. Lovely design and UI, really professional. Documentaion area is flawless.
What do you dislike about the product?
"Guides" section is a bit buggy, so I avoided. There seems to be a way of adding custom variables, but this is not well documented.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I need to display documentation to my API users. ReadMe displays my OpenAI file.

Easy for an admins, easy for end users

  • February 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
ReadMe takes the somewhat daunting task of communicating API functionality and creates a straightforward way to manage that information and present it to end users so that they can act more quickly.

As a product manager, I work with my customers by looking at the API Reference together and help them identify specific requests for new data points, parameters, etc. to decide how to improve it going forward.

The Changelog both showcases value-added, and is a trustworthy resource for any long-time customers who need to react to changes made.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think we are utilizing all of the features that ReadMe offers, so there is probably some customer education or guidance that could go a long way to help us sort out how to improve the experience for our users.

I'd like to create more opportunities for education amongst the categories and API endpoints, as well as more navigation opportunities, as our API reference list has grown quite large.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Provides a way for technical end users to digest information and see what is available via our API.

What do you like best about the product?
From the moment we started using it, we were impressed by its user-friendly interface and seamless integration with various tools.
One of the standout features of readme is its powerful customization options. We were able to tailor our documentation to match our brand's identity, giving it a professional and polished look that resonates with our users. Additionally, the platform's analytics and insights have provided valuable data on user engagement, enabling us to continuously improve our documentation and meet our users' needs effectively.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a bit confusing how the plans works, at the beginning it is not very clear if it is per user, plan or project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our users can now test and explore our API from one place with a user-friendly interface and documentation. This helped reduce the workload of our support team with API questions.

Great product - auto-generating API docs from OpenAPI reference makes life easy

  • December 06, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The recipes and OpenAPI documentation features are fantastic, the fact that we can link our OpenAPI generation up from Github Actions CI through the ReadMe API to automatically update our documentation is an amazing feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
The code block feature when writing documentation isn't great in my opinion; previously, we had used Gitbooks before we transitioned to ReadMe and I always loved the ability to just create a code block with ``` tags - the code block in ReadMe always feels a little too comprehensive for a few lines of bash script.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ReadMe allows Budibase to write great documentation for our tool, as well as helping us understand areas of our documentation which needs improvements. The thumbs up/down feature has helped us work out areas of the product which are confusing, or need better explanation which is great.
