High performing platform for building custom apps
What do you like best about the product?
Development and deploying applications through our multiple environments is quick and easy with their one-click publish mechanism. Outsystems uses the latest UI patterns for web development that handles various screen sizes automatically in their Reactive Web App development flow. The Forge has been adding new verified components and has been able to help extend the platform's capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of test automation tools to perform regression tests. Feature branching is not available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allows us to dev and test in a different environment than production. This has allowed us to make changes and have users test it before releasing it. Outsystems has allowed us to extend the capabilities of other SaaS platforms to serve different custom processes.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to implement the OutSystems applications. Setting up the environments is also easy even though there were some issues in the initial setup related to software version/servers connectivity. It was to do after overcoming those few issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
The response from support is not quick and improving the errors log with more details will be helpful to troubleshoot the issues

What do you like best about the product?
As an administrator for multiple platforms I've found OutSystems to be a platform that is easy to manage and provides great analytics and monitoring tools that help keep track of our solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only issue I've had with the product is the quality of the customer support. There has been times where i've waited days and even months to get a response to fix my issues.

We are building apps that normally would of taken months to write and instead writing them in shorter times going to production

Outsystems was really easy to use and learn. It provided a great stepping off point to kick start new projects and be able deliver them in very short timeframes.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a learning curve involved when dealing with integrations. Additionally, many features (like SSO) is not part of the default platform offering - however needs plugins to be fully useable.

Delivering new applications and projects is a very short time frame has enabled us to work on more projects.

it is a very intuitive and self guided platforms in the market for low code development. it is very easy to get started and move along the development life cycle with very minimal learning curve. it also has a very active community with many contributors readily willing to help.

very honestly speaking, there is nothing that I dislike about the platform. it is a very easy to get started platform with minimal learning curve and there is no prior programming experience required to get started.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we were actually wanting to build several workflows to automate business processes as well make the business process very intuitive for the user. We used the platform to onboard employees into our organization with very minimal HR help so that they can start being productive.

explore your use case with outsystems personnel/community, ask as many detailed questions as possible and then get started
Preferred Technology For Mobile And Web App Development
What do you like best about the product?
Outsystems provides us to create web or mobile application rapidly and So far there as been anything that we could not have implemented with OS. Integrations towards SAP, legacy applications with DB-interface, Azure custom apps have been done with great speed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Conflict during publishing the application as caused problem and sometimes there has been serious problems with external mobile plugins which has caused app to fail. For offline apps, data synchronization can be very difficult to implement.

We can develop apps using Outsystems rapidly which saves the time and solves our problem and Outsystems has provided great productivity improvement for app development. Speed of delivering a new app has suprised both development team and stakeholders.

What do you like best about the product?
Outsystems is the best low code development platform where ee can develop web and mobile applications. It cuts down the developing time nearly 50% less compared to normal coding.
We have the best Themes & can play with CSS and Javascript to configure our front end of the application.

What do you dislike about the product?
The licensing cost of outsystems is too high.
The Front end of our applications can be customised only up to a limit,i.e We cannot create interactive pages with greater extent as available in the market.

OutSytems also allows people with little knowledge to develop without help from professionals so you might lose some projects that you won’t enjoy for being so basic. That is good.

What do you like best about the product?
Point and click development makes it easy and quick to create both web and mobile applications. You can explore and learn using the personal environment. They've provided courses online that are very helpful and easy to understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
Environment is dependent on the servers, and only OutSystems personnel can reset/fix it. My project got delayed by 2 days because of this downtime.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The time it takes to develop a web application is significantly cut down. You can create more web apps in OutSystems in the time it takes to create 1 java-based/angular-based web app.

Their courses online cover the basics. You might have to explore or look at forums to help you in more complicated designs/solutions.
