Simplest free test tool
What do you like best about the product?
The possibility to generate automatic test cases from swagger/open API JSON documents. Set up pre/post scripts with JS to programmatically set up vars to use in your test cases.
What do you dislike about the product?
We try to use Postman to execute load tests but we find it's not very powerful as JMeter or other tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Developing fast and simple API test cases for our dev teams solves the problems of passing information from analysts to devs. When we need to study external API services, often with poor documentation, Postman is a very good companion to explore them in deep.

The interface is very intuitive and powerful at the same time (usually a difficult task).
The Monitoring tool is very handy, and in addition to the slack connection you don't miss anything.

The syntaxis of the Test Cases is just a bit complex.
It uses a javascript syntaxis, but with some addition of PostMan variables.
We make it all work as I desired but it cost a bit.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Initially, we've been looking for a way to write API documentation with examples. It does very well and professional.
Later we found the Monitoring tool very handy. So now we know if we have downtime or slow responses on our API before customers.

Great API Testing Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Postman is definitely one of the best API testing tools that I have come across. It is quite feature-rich with environments and variables making it quite easy to test and see how the APIs behave before deploying them in a real-time environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
Version management and request encryption schemes can be simplified or made better. Other than that, there is nothing much to dislike about the tool as it served me well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My use case was to test out different APIs before using them in a production environment and this helped a lot with the same. It was quite easy to deploy them to our required RPA solution afterwards.

Easy to create test suites. Postman allows you to create test suites and collections of integration test cases.
It allows to share and move the test cases from one system to another system and environments. This makes it extremely easy to use.

The problem with this tool is, it's not a professional tool.
Exporting and importing should be one step process rather than going through collections, environments and globals.
API load testing doesn't run client-side scripts.

Great tool for exercising APIs, manually testing them, documenting them and even sharing across a team.
It has become much easier to work with URLs using postman instead of doing tedious tasks via command line.

What do you like best about the product?
Postman is one of the best platforms to design, and test thoroughly the APIs that you will come across. It has a large stack of open APIs to perform the required R&D as per our requirements.
What do you dislike about the product?
There aren't many things to dislike when it comes to Postman as it serves the purpose. Code reusability can be introduced in Postman when automating RESTful web services which can be found in certain other API testing tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have majorly used Postman to test out the APIs exposed to us during our projects and what they yield during the same before implementing them in a real-time environment or production-based scenarios. Before implementing any exposed API in an RPA project, we use Postman to test the API and have an understanding of the output result they return.

Postman as an environment for developers helps to analyze the overall pace of data's nature.
It's like a guide walking through the outcome of your API response with all the possible information.
Allows one to time the response and its server status code to understand the communication.

It needs to be user-friendly and easy to understand the use of the software.
If you export the collection from the postman you should be able to edit & import the same changes in the postman collection.
It doesn't give you the right error message if you loose the server connection.

It reduces the time to create a file where you have to manually define the API workflow and then be able to use it fully.
It helps to trace the server status code where you can map the exact communication happening with the server and its request.

Convinent to use, and ideal for restful API test also reused there pre-return script,mainly used for manual testing

It's not used for SOAP API and Other API only used for manual testing,it does not run client side script also it does not measure front end performance

The comprehensive user interface and the ability to sync with several devices. Easy to use and facilitates the organization of API work and inter-organizational communication. APIs facilitate design, testing, and documentation.

Postman has too many tabs, which can be confusing for first-time users. Other than that, it's good.

Test APIs on different hosts. It's easy to import a project's APIs and test and see how well they work.
