What do you like best about the product?
I am using postman from last 3 years and this is the best for Callouts, to check the APIs of any aplication to change the data of the particular apps.
Like I am working as a Salesforce Developer, So It helps to integrate any software with Salesforce to check which Outh that app using to run the apis smoothlt also we can change the data using POST callout.
In Postman there are several pre defined API which you can use to intergrate something or to make callouts.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only Dislike which i face is the Application history is not showing older than 4 months in the app but showing when we use in the browser. Which I want that that should give us the filter to fetch the particular date history, this will help massively.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This helps me to integrate around 20+ platforms with salesforce using REST API as well as Graphql API. Also it helps me to delete no used webhooks of any platform. Postman has ability to direclty change any record of Salesforce using Autorization and login.
Postman helps me to easy my work when I have to intergrate any platfrom I just google and run those APIs into Postman and tried to retireve data according to my requirements, and postman always helps me in those situations.

Postman is a very useful API development and testing tool

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It supports http methods like GET,POST,PUT,DELETE.It works with restful API and soap AI and websocket API's.It allows creation of enviornments with variables like Base URL's, API keys to simplify testing in different set ups (Dev,QA,Production). It can organize API requests into collections for better workflow management and the collection can include API calls, scripts and test cases. It can automate tasks like setting headers, autentication tokens or extracting data from the output response. It enbales to share the collections, test cases within the teams. It allows creating mock servers to simulate API responses for testing before the backend isfully developed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although Postman is a very poswerful tool but it can slow down or crash when handling large collections or datasets.Postman is a desktop application which consumes significant CPU and RAM.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Manually testing API's using command-line tool or scripts can be time consuming and error prone.Postman allows developers to organize API requests into collections making it easier to manage and test APIs during development.postman lets users define environment with variables like base Url,tokens which enable users easy switching and consistency across environments.

Solution simplifies web service testing with impressive speed and accessibility

What is our primary use case?

I use it to check web services. For instance, I can send a request and receive a response. My company, which is in the insurance industry, uses it as well.

What is most valuable?

It is very easy for me to use and I highly prefer it compared to SoapUI and other products for performing its job. It is more handy and faster. It has impacted us very nicely.

Postman is used for free by us. I'm not sure if there might be a paid version for multiple users. It is a very good product used for development. It is easy to install, as well as to learn, particularly for new users, even if they are not developers. I taught my business analyst to use it. I just showed them once, and it was easy for them to understand.

For example, I gave them the URL and request format and asked them to test independently. They were able to use it on their own and do their testing as well. It was a good experience, especially for generally smart people, like those we usually hire in our company. It is pretty easy to explain, and learning it is not complex.

What needs improvement?

It is really good. I don't think there is any need for comments on improvements. It is super.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used the solution for five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate it ten out of ten for stability. It is a good product. It is a very good product.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

This solution is scalable. It can be scaled. Maybe, as mentioned, an automation feature would be beneficial. However, it is good in its own right. If it is changed, it might lose its purpose.

How are customer service and support?

It is a good thing that it was never needed. It is not needed. That is the best part. They might be there, but it is so good that you don't really need them.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I didn't really use it. I was the manager of the team, so I am not sure if it even has a collaboration feature. Maybe it can have a collaboration feature if it doesn't.

How was the initial setup?

The setup is very straightforward. It can be downloaded directly from the browser. It gets installed immediately. It is a good tool and doesn't even need to be installed; it can be used directly from the browser. It is good.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have used Eclipse, Eclipse Duo, and all their versions, as well as Microsoft Azure or Visual Studio. I have used many tools actually.

The main difference is that it can also be used in the browser. It doesn't need to be installed always. Or even if it is, it is very easy to install. You just search for Postman, click download, and you start working on it.

Maybe there is a workspace requirement if your company needs it, however, that is also easy to manage. The main advantage is that getting started is quick and doesn't require going through a lot of documentation. It is pretty self-explanatory.

What other advice do I have?

If I have the use case to use it, like testing web services, it is the best tool out there. If I am developing any application, I should definitely use it because it is very easy. Also, in dark mode, it looks really cool. The dashboard looks cool in dark mode.

Overall rating: Ten out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Other

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best part is ease of use to test APIs.I also like the collections part which makes managing multiple endpoints super easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I see issues with large collections as I observe it becomes unresponsive and slow. Also there should be some good debugging tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its helping me efficiently test and validate APIs across various features of our e-commerce platform. With Postman I am able to test the application more thoroughly. Making sure UI and API both both are validated for end to end reliability.

A Backend Developers Essential API Tool

  • November 25, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Postman is a powerful tool that simplifies API development includinf testing making it the indispensable resourse for a Backend developer. It's quite easy to undersand which makes the set up and testing quite easy. It is easy for non developers to understand as well.
My favourite part is the feature-rich environment it provide, including automated testing, mock servers, and the ability to save API into different collections make it very organised. Also the collaboration part is nice as it allows all the team members to share API's and update seamlessly.
What do you dislike about the product?
While postman is highly functional, it has few drawbacks. The learning curve for advance features like scripting in pre request features, while useful seem little overpriced, especially for small teams or solo developers.
The lack of offline capabalities for certain features also feels limiting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the primary problems it solves is building, testing, and documenting API's so that developers don't have to juggle between multiple tools for testing , debugging and collaboration.
