If you deal with APIs use postman

  • November 22, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Postman is a must have for any API developer, building APIs can be a hassle but Postman does a lot of grunt work so that developers can concentrate on what they do best. I came to know about postman from a conference where an API expert was showing a demo of their API and I fell in love with this software from that day onwards.

Automated test running: If your rest API is on the cloud, you can use postman to run periodic tests and status checks and reports back if anything is amiss.

Multiple response type supports: Postman allows users to deal with APIs that respond with JSON, XML and plain HTML pages too.

Debugging APIs: If I use postman, I am easily able to view cookies, get cookies, set cookies and much more.

Affordaitlty: Postman is priced right it is neither too expensive not cheap, it has hit the pricing right.
What do you dislike about the product?
Postman is not open source software, it is a paid proprietary software, I wish someone comes up with an open source version of it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me manage and control my API development workflow.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you can not afford postman, you can use chromes debugging tools.

Sometimes app becomes slow for a short period which requires it to close it down and restart it
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
API Testing of end points defined on azure portal. Supports Oauth 2.0 token, which is implements in our azure api end points
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend this app to anyone who is looking to test api's. It is very easy to start with. Later we can also automate our api tests using Postman + Newman and supports reporitng as well

Build custom web products with Postman

  • November 21, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Postman is very easy to set up. It provides quick links to headers, replies, and data regarding debugging. The test manager and the testing factor system saves a lot of time. It really is perfect for checking API endpoint health inspections, monitoring the API performance or error reactions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Compared with the web version, the Plugin is not as robust as I would expect. I would also like Postman to use an external device for UX research, something our project manager has been claiming for a long time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have used Postman to check our workflows and build custom web products by extending to Micro Products and other fields. It is also used to promote encryption and pre-request texts if current captions are to be created to submit the application. I really like that Postman lets me always explain what JSAN APIs are and get clear information on how they function for people from other parts of the market who do not usually know about APIs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Postman is suitable for companies that are looking for a tool to check and fix APIs or even simple online apps. This valuable tool has helped me to solve problems with consumers rather than trying to exacerbate problems all the time they appear. Of course if your system does not have a server template or you don't usually communicate with third-party APIs, Postman will not be entirely effective to your group code.

Check small APIs for users

  • November 21, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Postman allows us to handle sophisticated web service management and specific payloads. It includes a good team communication feature too. If you use a trial version, it provides most compatibilities and support for future templates, headings, application bodies, etc. And if you use the paid edition, you can use it for security, so you can protect your user interface on the development API endpoint.
What do you dislike about the product?
Postman fails to incorporate third party for logging and tracking, something that would be very nice to have. Also, Postman accepts mobile application monitoring only web browsers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Postman is used by most developers of the IT department within our company. The environmental variability setup is a great time saver for us. I particularly like Postman to check small APIs for users, as it allows to evaluate APIs and internet services quickly and easily. It can be used for measuring endpoints positively or negatively, either for measuring their connectivity or for data transmission.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Postman is well suited for checking multiple APIs as it provides fast and broad handling capabilities for managing header and payloads correctly. It is best to use it as a product to reach the user experience. I would frankly recommend Postman for any development company working with any sort of API-based information and communication structure, although it is versatile enough for us to be used in less common situations, but simple enough to provide adjustments for the HTTP exchanges.

Postman for API checking

  • November 15, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Postman offers mock databases for your API. It is very easy to manage and the results are quite productive. It makes very simple to write on other languages, as you can handle concise layouts of the integral webservice product life cycle. It enables everyone to quickly and effortlessly add or remove variables and display data in a well-formatted and readable way. It also helps you to save the details so you do not have to check again and again, by grouping demands and handling multiple requests. Postman offers different forms of payloads, such as JSON, and flexible HTTP headers and queries that are organized into lists, placed in databases or inserted into historical records.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Postman could have more stronger structured records. Also, POstman can be pretty expensive for most small companies. Also, in comparison to the web version, the Chrome extension version is not brilliant.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Postman in the IT department for commercial development and API checking. It offers an easy, highly interactive REST server, so we can check many API datasets and monitor the tests of applications and payloads. This is also used for outside third party, when documents are submitted.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Postman is a well suited tool for all those companies that want support in building dumb backends to their web service while focusing in the front end. Tests are simple to run and can be performed by anyone from everywhere.
