What do you like best about the product?
Kong API Gateway is helpful for API Sandbox implementation as it provides a compact and lightweight solution for customers.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Key management and developer portal support needs improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are helping customers set up the API Gateway for a quick and easy API first approach implementation. This is helping customers to reduce the GTM strategy.
Kong, for all things API
What do you like best about the product?
I find Kong is perfect as an API Gateway and is compatible with many platforms. It is my go-to for both API Gateway, and ingress, for my Kubernetes clusters.
What do you dislike about the product?
My list of dislikes is quite small. However, some plugins are only available on an enterprise license which can be a little annoying if you're trying to utilize those features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm using Kong API Gateway in all my Kubernetes clusters as an API gateway, as it helps with securing inbound API's prior to them reaching your application.

What do you like best about the product?
You can never make mistake with Kong. As a developer, The lightweight characteristics is an added advantage any day, anytime. You do away with so many dependencies that can make scaling and deployment an herculian task.
What do you dislike about the product?
There should be more demo for teaching purposes. More awareness needs to be created for this awesome platform and this could better be achieved right from the schools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has really helped in easy scaling and development of some applications that could have cost a lot more with ordinary virtualization.

Kong dose not have any password policy
Kong doesn't provide any mechanism to verify e-mail address
No concept of multi factor authentication
Credentials for customer are set by admin and consumer cannot change them

Unmatched Extensibility via Plugins: The vast library of existing plugins covers most common use cases out of the box. More importantly, the ability to create custom plugins is a game-changer. It ensures you are never limited by the platform and can implement any required logic directly at the gateway level, giving you complete control over your API traffic.
Powerful Data Transformation: The ability to transform data in flight is an incredibly useful and practical feature. It simplifies integration between different services and systems.

I am looking more on AI side where they are lacking little bit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
API mashup is one of my use cases, where I can call multiple APIs within one API and achieve process and behaviour enrichment. Data transformation feature plugin availability is a very nice feature to achieve my goal.

The environment configuration on Windows is always a challenge but I'm not sure if that is something Kong can control
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving the hiring gap problem mostly. It has been tough trying to find qualified developers to build out solutions so we are relying on external tools heavily now.
