high-performance and low-resource REST API Gateway
What do you like best about the product?
During my recent project involving API gateway implementation, I had the opportunity to explore and utilize the various deployment options provided by Kong Gateway. I found these options to be thoroughly documented and well-supported by Kong. Throughout the implementation process, I received excellent support from the Kong team, which greatly contributed to the success of the project.
What do you dislike about the product?
While evaluating Kong Gateway, I observed that certain features, such as the built-in management and developer portals, may not be as robust as alternative solutions. However, I was particularly impressed by the strength of the configuration management tools provided by Kong. These tools enabled efficient and effective management of configurations, enhancing the overall functionality of the API gateway.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
API Management in Kong involves comprehensive API capabilities that allows us to efficiently manage and control the access to APIs. It includes many other great features like authentication, rate limiting, request/response transformation, and traffic control. These leveraging functionalities makes the use if Kong management and monitoring of APIs at ease and also ensuring availability and performance.
Scalability of the Kong is easy to handle high volumes of API traffic when ee try again and again for certain specific use and it provides horizontal scalability features ad well. It mainly acts as a centralized entry point for the APIs, load balancing APIs is great among other. Also this capability improves the overall performance and reliability of API infrastructure.

Its app ecosystem enables standardization for authentication across organization applications.

Documentation could be improved to flatten newcomers learning curve.

Authentication and authorization can be easily standardize thereby offloading a great deal of operational complexity.

Kong Gateway provides various configuration and change management options saas platform hosted at customer infrastructure.
Kong provides the ability to bring our own custom plugins thereby enhancing community adoption and flexibility.

What do you dislike about the product?
Open source nature of the platform does pose a rick of delayed support when it comes to integration with other systems as well as new feature requests. But i'm sure the team is working on it :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
kong api gateway helps me in my personal projects to develop applications based out of diverse tech stack. This eases the overhead of maintain domain knowledge and thereby assists in faster iteration on software development.

Multiple Features and Functionality in terms of API conversion and Load balancing, Reverse proxy and API gateway.

IOT API Protocol conversion is NOT supported.

Kong: One-stop solution to manage the API world
What do you like best about the product?
Kong is a one-stop solution for managing your microservice in the container world. Right from kong mesh to seamless experience with API management reduces the API development burden to market the product quickly as never before. It saves my organization from paying bills of many IPs addresses and make it easy implement for inbound traffic.
What do you dislike about the product?
Multi-tenancy of the kong control plane (IngressClass) needs to be documented. Kong API integration with ISTIO is a bit harder

Managing service-to-service communication in a Kubernetes multi-tenant environment.
