Audience campaigns have improved targeting accuracy but still need broader feature exploration
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for mParticle is to create audiences. I have created particles for targeting specific audiences for marketing, and we trigger the audiences based on the requirements of the resource.
What is most valuable?
mParticle helps to target audiences accurately based on what we have triggered, and it is very useful for triggering audiences. mParticle offers audience triggering campaigns with an excellent user interface, and we can trigger audiences easily. The features are good, and we can get audiences exactly as we want them, with refreshes on a daily basis.
The user interface of mParticle is simple and not overly complicated, making it very easy to use and very friendly. Beginners or people with non-technical backgrounds can use it effectively, which is very useful.
mParticle has helped us reach a wider audience as expected and has captured many audiences that we were expecting to trigger and target. It has delivered good outcomes for the organization.
What needs improvement?
I cannot identify any specific areas for improvement in mParticle.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used mParticle for around one and a half years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Throughout my use of mParticle, it has been stable with no placement issues, replacement issues, or wrong audience triggering. The experience has been good and stable.
How are customer service and support?
I have not needed to contact customer support for mParticle.

This was the first solution I have used, and I have not used anything other than mParticle.
How was the initial setup?
I have no idea about how mParticle is deployed in my organization or where it has been installed, as another team looks after that. We were given credentials and we use it.
What about the implementation team?
This type of question is not related to me, as I have not worked on the setup or anything regarding mParticle. I was given credentials and I used mParticle to trigger audiences, and that is my job.
What was our ROI?
We have seen engagement and conversion rates improve in the audience triggering with mParticle.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I was not part of the team that dealt with pricing, setup cost, and licensing. Another team handled that, and I was not part of that team. I only used mParticle for audience triggering.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I have not chosen mParticle; it was part of the ongoing process in the project. I have no idea about other solutions. It was the first time I used mParticle, and it is good to use.
What other advice do I have?
We make changes in mParticle according to requirements, and we get audiences as per our needs. If the audience is great, it is good; if the audience is not great, then we change something and make the audience quickly.
I have used mParticle somewhat, but I have not explored many features, so based on what I have used, it has been very good, and I am satisfied with that. My overall review rating for mParticle is six out of ten, and if I had used more features, I would have given a higher rating.

Shiny But Seriously Overcomplicated
What do you like best about the product?
Honestly, the user interface (at least the newer versions) is markedly improved over what I've seen before. It's not beautiful, mind you, but it's functional. And I’ll concede - the reporting is actually decent for the level of granularity offered.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is where it gets painful. My biggest issue, and frankly, the one that keeps popping into my head, is the steep learning curve. They’ve layered on so many features, so many integrations, and so many complex rules, that it’s a nightmare for a mid-sized brand - let alone a smaller one - to actually use effectively.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The "benefit" is reliant on flawless implementation - which, frankly, is extraordinarily difficult. It’s a tool that can only be truly effective if a brand has a clear strategy, skilled personnel, and the discipline to actually use it correctly.
Great CDP tool with excellent customer service
What do you like best about the product?
Mparticle is a multifunctional CDP tool that helps us quickly pinpoint audiences, build them with thoughtful segmentation, and publish them to where we need them to go. This year, I've also used mParticle for more than just Audience building, but also as a key tool to collect 1P data for Sweepstakes, NBCU Profile creation, ingestion of 1P data and much more. The platform seamlessly integrates with a lot of the vendors, partners or external tools we use. However, I think the #1 aspect of mParticle is it's amazing customer service team. I've been working with Molly ever since I began working at NBC/Telemundo and she's always been willing to help, while also offering easy, clear-cut solutions. Beyond Molly, the tech and support team is also always willing to help. Manny and his team are an absolute pleasure to work with, and they always feel like an extension of our internal team, which makes any implementation easy. I use Mparticle quite often for most of the projects I lead, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only part of mParticle I would say is my least favorite is the new UI, maybe it's a matter of me getting more used it but I sometimes don't feel it is as user-friendly as the past one. There are certain parts of the tool that I still need guidance on and maybe a new experience could make it feel a bit less intimidating.

They're solving easy but secure ways of sending our 1P data to vendors and partners.
Using our one-app data to build audiences we can activate on our media campaigns.
A way to ingest and organize data collected from Sweepstakes and events.
Easy access to other brands' data (with the right approval of course), providing one unified ecosystem for the entire business.
Data Compliance with the latest privacy and legal requirements to make sure we are using our data the right way.

The only downside I had was with the rules for the unified profile,
It would be excellent to have a more personalized way of setting rules for that and not only to indicate which attributes to use.

What I like best about mParticle is its intuitive user interface, which makes navigating and managing the events catalog exceptionally easy. The platform’s simplicity in setting up and managing connections streamlines our workflow, enhancing overall efficiency. mParticle can enhance its documentation to better cover various processes and best practices, facilitating easier setup and troubleshooting for users. The activity screen would benefit from more visual dashboards, displaying key metrics like the most frequently occurring events and projected event volumes. These improvements would provide with quicker, more actionable insights. Enhanced visual and informative interfaces would significantly boost overall data management and decision-making efficiency.

We are using mParticle as CDP at our organization. We are using mParticle to collect user events, build real time audience and send them to downstream applications to run targeted campaigns. mParticle has really solved the data integration part and makes data flow seamlessly between our marketing ecosystem.

tagging implementation and capabilities are great. the product is always improving and adapting to industry needs. the felxbility of data flows make the product very funcitonal for all aspects of operations.

data distribution process can be improved. limitations around cookies can harm positive impat of the tool.

we have many different business units with vastly different needs. mparticle makes it very easy to customize the implementation for the use cases but also synchronize across those units if a more standard enterprise application is required.
