Data driven communication
What do you like best about the product?
That the tool is highly data-driven. It is possible to add all kinds of variables (limited to simple types excluding arrays, but it is an acceptable limitation). In addition, we can build models super quickly and also recommendations. The development already thought about recommendations built outside and incorporate this option. It is super easy to upload user attributes.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike 2 things. The most important one is how difficult it is to remove attributes or events that became obsolote or were corrupted.
Blueshift help is on spot, so we always got great help, however it would be nicer if we could remove data from the system a bit easier.
The second thing that would be good to add is to have formulas on attributes for segment creation. At the moment each value can be analyzed and it is not possible to compare them. For example if I want to calculate the available income I could use income field - expenses and then apply a threshold. However because I cannot compare variable against variable I need to have the available income pre-calculated and loaded to Blueshift.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data driven communication. We are loading tons of data to be able to do micro-segmentation for email campaings. This has proven a huge improve in conversion numbers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Blueshift is an excellent tool for data-driven communications. I recommend being very mindful when adding new attributes to make sure they have the right type (as type is attributed based on the data of the first load) and always use a test account for testing to keep the production account neat.

What do you dislike about the product?
The opt-out management system is too simplistic to cater to current-day GDPR/POPIA opt-out requirements. It currently only caters for flat optout at a channel level for SMS, email, etc. with no ability to add additional channels to the base optout process. The system also does not cater for customised category optout or "opt-down" as many other systems utilise. The workaround of creating a new field per opt-out category becomes too cumbersome. However, the system does allow you to utilise an optout front end which can be customised to utilise an external opt-down system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We run a lot of manual remarketing processes internally. We are now utilising Blueshift to automat our consumer remarketing process. With the automation in place, we are now able to better engage with our consumers.
We are also looking at solving the issue of not having an internal CRM for management of our consumer database.

This is an amazing platform for automating your remarketing processes and better engaging with your consumers.
Great features, and fast development with customers at center
What do you like best about the product?
The Blueshift platform offers a range of very useful features, like recommendations, segmentation, social media connections. It's advanced for connection to external fetches for multi-language campaigns and easy to work with the templates. The Blueshift team is very helpful, always ready to help, and gets fast support, around the clock.
What do you dislike about the product?
Blueshift is built for executing campaigns, and the data analytics interface is a little limited, but the basics can be definitely be done. I am convinced this area will be improved, given Blueshift's fast and customer-centric product development.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We execute 2-3 one-time sends campaigns each week, to 14 different languages and have about 20 triggered campaigns. The clever AI and segmentation make it easy to send timely content to global customers. Without Blueshift, we would have had to be a 3x bigger team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a great platform!
Powerful CDP that unifies all our data and allows for powerful communication with our customers.
What do you like best about the product?
Integration with our eCommerce platform allows us to leverage our customer and order data to improve our marketing communications. Blueshift has allowed us to level up our email marketing as well as managing our customer data.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve is a bit steep but well worth the payoff.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using data insights to power our email communications dramatically improving the results of one of our top marketing channels.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Work closely with your CSM and develop a good rapport - they are your conduit into the other teams you'll need to make you successful on the platform.
User Friendly UI of Blueshift
What do you like best about the product?
Clear and Understandable font and readable english. The color combination of the UI is eye pleasing and good to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not really but the lag of loading time for some accounts. possible due to API request and response case.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Business needs mainly for the marketing business to land on the page where we can validate and take decisions for the SEO/SEM channels.
Helping us achieve our goals
What do you like best about the product?
We have been using Blueshift for some time now and seeing the features and tools advance has been great! The AI & predictive features help us personalise communication with customers which is key for us. On top of this, the team are always helpful and take the time to understand our needs and offer custom solutions to help us achieve our goals.
What do you dislike about the product?
The team have always been quick to address & resolve any issues we've faced, however, there are some minor pain points with UI at times. I would like to see more advanced branching logic to help us create different paths within a campaign and more visual options for campaign journeys.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are communicating with our customers on a more one-to-one level with Blueshift to ensure our content relevant & personalised to the user.
Best up an coming CDP/ESP
What do you like best about the product?
Blueshift allows me to understand my customers in a way most other platforms do not. The insights I am able to glean and then turn around action within the platform give me the opportunity to scale in a way that other platforms do not.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've work with Blueshift now at two companies and one of the things I appreciate is their flexibility and willing to innovate the product to meet my companies needs. If there is something we dislike or find missing they are always more than willing to jump in and add it to the roadmap or do custom work to match our business needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a small team with limited resources. Blueshift is allowing us to automate campaigns based on data. There algorithm allows us to provide better product recommendations and learn more about customers over time. I look at them as a bit of a secret weapon giving us an unfair competitive advantage.
New User
What do you like best about the product?
It is leaps and bounds more advanced than some of the smaller platforms out there, but not so wildly expensive as other platforms that exist that I would consider on par with capability.
What do you dislike about the product?
Reporting and data structure could be better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Better dynamic user segmentation, which allows us to be more agile with our communications to specific users.
I use Blueshift for the majority of my work and do recommend it.
What do you like best about the product?
User profiling. It's really easy to troubleshoot customer problems by having all activity, event and campaign data per user profiling in one easy to find interface. I also like the newly introduced template creator. As we use the Visual Editor for the majority of our sends, the new update has made it incredibly clear to build, proof in multiple devices and also test recommendations and dynamic content based on how easy it is to select different users/attributes and see them change in live.
Another benefit is how clear it is to set up and execute campaigns. Having all the campaign, segment and templates in one easy view gives me peace of mind whenever I'm sending campaigns.

What do you dislike about the product?
One thing Blueshift falls down on is the automation and journey builders. At the moment, it feels very static. With most products, you would expect a clear and easy to use drag and drop journey builder, where it's clear to see how the activity will be prioritised, and what happens if a user is skipped from a certain trigger - what happens next? As we're trying to roll out quite complex behavioural automation campaigns, it's quite difficult to build these. What's more, because it's static, it's difficult to amend the ordering of templates and work on the prioritisation without having to delete templates.
Another feature which I think needs work is the testing within automated campaigns. It's great to be able to test subject lines OR templates on an activity, but if you want to test the other option, you have to archive the activity (which I believe takes users out of the flow if they're at that stage, but more importantly archives any results attributed to that activity step). It would be great if we could just swap between template and subject testing without having to archive that activity step.
The only other feature which I think needs work is the dashboard metrics. It would be great if we could build out more compound metrics to display (I think the max is 12?). It would be beneficial to have more of these, but also to be able to change the ordering. At the moment, I think it's ordered by alphabet, whereas I would like to be able to change these to how I perceive campaign performance.

Not only do we use Blueshift for all of our BAU marketing, it's also really important to us because we use it for our user behaviour analysis, for example using pageload events to see what users are doing on-site and where, as well as the goal events to see where our revenue and product conversions are coming from.
We've solved countless automation issues with Blueshift, which is great. If we can see a better journey builder in the future, this will only unlock us more.
The other solution that stands out is advertising through other platforms, Facebook for example. Being able to use the data syndication feature to segment a particular user group based on events in Blueshift, and then being able to create a lookalike from Facebook through snydicating that data through has definitely increase acquisition conversion, whilst bringing down the costs there.

Powerful but user friendly platform, good customer service
What do you like best about the product?
It's extremely flexible - so you can do the basics easily, but if you want to do something more complex, there's usually a way to do that, too. We jumped straight from Mailchimp to Blueshift and the difference is enormous. Their customer service team are also excellent - Rohan is a great AM and the team who respond to support requests are always extremely quick and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation could be clearer - so we have to ask fewer questions during setup and as we learn how to use the platform. Ability to build drag/drop flows with if statements would be really useful - currently you can build these flows, but it's not that easy (I believe this is on the product roadmap).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Better tracking of user activity on-site and in emails; ability to send targeted, relevant, timely comms and to set this up flexibly; drive up our user retention and engagement levels through being more agile and with access to use more detailed criteria.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Really powerful platform and great customer service. If you're looking to take a step up in how you do CRM, you should definitely check out Blueshift.
