Simple to run and manage. Very easy to integrate with a wide number of clients and other cloud based services. Provides a high level of security. Highly scalable and can be configured for high availability.

The requirement to have an outage / downtime when applying patches and minor upgrades.

Error debugging with Java is difficult and sometimes we're unable to do it ourselves

Using MFT
What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful thing about MFT is the huge choice of features in the product.
There are plenty of file transfer programs such as Filezilla, WinSCP etc... but a lot of these programs are very basic and do not offer the range of features that come with MFT.
What do you dislike about the product?
With all the features that come with MFT, it also adds complexity.
I have raised numerous cases with Axway to get issues fixed because of this complexity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One problem that it solves is to be able to remove weak ciphers, HMACs and Key Exchanges.
We are able to catalog all client transfers via logs and work out which clients are using these weak protocols.
We then contact the individual clients and ask them to upgrade their protocols.
This is very helpful with our security.

What is our primary use case?
We are using Axway AMPLIFY Managed File Transfer for managed file transfer, specifically for moving files from one system to another, across different entities globally, such as from New Zealand to Australia, Thailand, Japan, etc.
It is used for transporting gigabytes of data and supports the standard SFTP protocol among others.
How has it helped my organization?
It gives a good amount of storage capacity for a reasonable price and supports a lot of different protocols.
What is most valuable?
The product itself is good. It provides a good amount of storage capacity for a reasonable price and has a good range of connectors. It supports a lot of different protocols and has good security features.
It allows for auto-scaling, although this may increase user charges. We receive good support from Axway under the platinum subscription which offers 24/7 support and additional benefits.
What needs improvement?
Their monitoring is not up to the mark and needs improvement. They should have enhanced auto-reconnection capabilities for interrupted file transfers and implement features allowing chunk movement of data.
These improvements are necessary for situations where large files are being transported and might face interruptions, requiring operations intervention.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using the solution for almost eight months now.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is stable because we use it as a SaaS with auto-scaling enabled.

It is quite stable and supports auto-scaling, though auto-scaling will increase user charges.

We have a platinum subscription with Axway, which includes 24/7 support and excellent customer service.

It is not like you cannot do it with another platform. Other integration platforms can also transfer files across systems.

If your use case involves moving files efficiently from one system to another, Axway AMPLIFY Managed File Transfer is a suitable platform. Rate the overall solution at eight out of ten.

It is seemless, easy to configure and managed by Axway team. We can completely rely on Axway team for any patching, upgrades and maintenance. This has saved us lot of time every month.
It is also easy to integrate and we have heavy frequency which Axway handles with ease.

It doesn't support folder monitoring which was one of the best features Axway had. Secondly, Axway need to move towards complete HA during schedule maintenance to avoid any downtime.
