Streamlined Reporting but Needs Departmental Allocation Fix

What do you like best about the product?
I love Sage Intacct’s reporting capabilities. It has dramatically reduced the reporting period by minimizing the reliance on Excel spreadsheets. I can now create the same reports within Sage Intacct, which simplifies the reporting process significantly. Additionally, managers can view their customized reports directly on their dashboards without needing me to send them via Excel, allowing for a tailored and efficient experience. The platform’s ability to operate seamlessly in a remote environment is invaluable as it allows transactions, vendor bill approvals, and expense management to be handled from any location, which streamlines our workflow tremendously. My team is thrilled with Sage Intacct as it offers significantly more capabilities compared to our previous accounting system, Blackbaud Financial Edge.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that the main Accounts Payable module in Sage Intacct does not allow for entering expenses across multiple departments. This limitation requires us to perform additional steps, like allocating an invoice to a single department and then doing a journal entry for distribution across departments. I find this process cumbersome and not efficient for handling invoices that involve multiple managers or departments. Moreover, there is a lack of functionality for nonprofit organizations to manage endowments directly within the system. This necessitates continued reliance on external sheets, like Excel, to manage assets and their financial details, which feels outdated and inefficient.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Sage Intacct for accounts management and it streamlines approvals and transactions remotely. Its reporting capabilities simplify the reporting process, reducing reliance on Excel, and enable customized dashboards for managers.

User-Friendly and Intuitive—The Best Accounting Software Experience

What do you like best about the product?
It is user friendly and is easy to understand where things are located. If I have any questions the "help and support" at the top right of any Sage Intacct page i'm on I can find useful information for the task I am trying to accomplish. On top of that it makes logical sense the way AP, AR and Cash Management are set up. Love this software over any other accounting software (Oracle and great plains) I have used.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly have no negative feedback on Sage Intacct.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping all of the JEs, Other Receipts, billing and reconciliation all in one convenient location.

Highly Customizable and Perfect for Non-Profits

What do you like best about the product?
It has a lot of ability to be customized with custom fields being added. This can be beneficial especially for non-profit organizations with a lot of regulations on where expenses can be billed to.
What do you dislike about the product?
For the financial reports, when you export it to Excel, I would like the formatting to be better - e.g. no merged cells so that you can export the financial report to Excel and then immediately start using filters so that you can sort through the data, and not have to modify this data first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sage Intaact is helping solve the problem of having an accounting system set up that is intended for non-profit organizations. The previous ERP system had a non-profit module, but it was designed as an all encompassing system and not specifically for fund accounting.

Sage University. The test questions are sometimes not related to what was gone over in the materials very clearly.

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the filtering capabilities of Sage Intacct, which allow me to tailor searches to suit my specific needs, offering versatility that I didn't experience with other tools like Concur. The user-friendly interface enhances my overall experience by making navigation more intuitive and visually appealing. Furthermore, the reporting features of Sage Intacct surpass those of Concur, providing me with a broader array of report options that are both more informative and accessible. Overall, I find Sage Intacct to be simple yet remarkably effective in managing tasks involving vendor information and invoices, making it a robust tool for my financial management needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the implementation and setup of Sage Intacct problematic. Despite knowing the software's potential from previous experiences, it feels underutilized in my current setting due to how it has been structured. This underutilization leads to inefficiencies, as finding simple answers sometimes takes longer than necessary. Additionally, integrating Sage Intacct with Concur doesn't provide any noticeable benefits; instead, it complicates tasks, making things more challenging.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Sage Intacct to easily locate vendor information, update vendors, and check past invoices. It's more user-friendly and offers better filtering and reporting capabilities than Concur.

What do you like best about the product?
Offers best value for cost while meeting our finance, supply chain, grants and compliance requirements and such includes the following features:

Grant Management: Simplifies donor compliance and real-time budget tracking.
Financial Reporting: Accurate, customizable reports for audits and decisions.
Non-Profit Features: Fund accounting, cost allocation, and grant billing.
Automation & Integration: Streamlines tasks and connects systems.
Scalability: Modular options to support growth and budgets.
Cost Efficiency: Consolidates tools, reducing reliance on legacy systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wanted to have it includes HR functions like leave request etc. But was then advised there is a dedication Sage HR system with all these capabilities.

Automating most of our manual processes such as PRF, Expense, Timesheets among others

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it is cloud based, and as such, keeps loading times to a minimum and allows multiple instances to be 'open' at one time.
Implementation and customer support are OK.
What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of 'simple' processes are over complicated, and it is difficult to navigate.
With frequent usage it still takes a lot of getting used to.
The integrations available are not very specific to our needs as a Charity and there are probably too many features which we wouldn't use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Raising sales invoices has become a quicker task with ability to duplicate previous invoices raised, and the bank feed is great.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to process payments using different methods. It is also very easy to select invoices and reconcile payments. Overall the UI is nice and elegant.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it difficult to handle multiple locations at one time. For example we have multiple entities which can make certain process time consuming and repetitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sage is making it easier to submit electronic payments and reconcile. Other systems do not make it so easy to integrate with banks for payment submission.
