Duo a great security tool

  • October 18, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how I can send a quick push to the app on my phone and hit approve and be signed in! Super easy and convenient.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like how often I need to re-sign in. I wish I could have it remember me for longer than 14 days.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has created a much more secure organization.

MFA for the MSP

  • October 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Duo is very managed service provider (MSP) friendly!
Reselling this tool has gone very well, their multi-tenancy works well for our needs.
Having a go-to MFA tool that can be resold due to being able to manage it on our clients behalf is really fantastic with the way the big players are beginning to require this tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its a bit pricey - and now that Cisco owns them it makes me a bit nervous that that may only get worse..

Feature-wise though it has everything you could want out of an MFA tool with multiple levels to resell.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jump on the bandwagon!
Everybody is beginning to require MFA - why not adopt a tool that is so easily managed?
The push feature in particular makes MFA a much smoother process and less of a pain to adopt for your clients/employees.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you research the requirements for Duo's various requirements for use.
In some cases you must build out your own "DAG" (Duo Access Gateway). This requires a a device that exists in your DMZ zone.
Don't get me wrong, many many apps can integrate with duo without one (most notably O365 login, so anything you SSO with under that would be covered by that integration). But if you want to use this with one of your clients random one-off programs that has SAML support, you will likely require some additional configuration/investment to get it working the way you want.

It can always be used via OTP as well though!

Increase your security while retaining your ease of use

  • October 02, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Duo has excellent support for third-party applications so we were able to implement it throughout our many disparate systems, on-premises and cloud. One concern was adoption, but users incorporated this software easily into their workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
Once 2FA authentication is enabled, it is difficult to have to deal with the situation where you lose your 2FA device. We have encouraged users to have backup codes so they can avoid too much pain should this scenario occur.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our customers depend on us to keep their information secure. This reduces our ability to use shared logins out of convenience since the login is tied to that user's personal device. This forces us to be more secure.

Less spam since the university applying this duo authentification
What do you dislike about the product?

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Spamming
Recommendations to others considering the product:

easiest Mulity factor Authentication

  • September 12, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simple process to set a business account.
simple way to create sub accounts for the team
And very easy way to log into applications with it.
The option to use send me a push or enter pin code from the app is very good
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing at the moment, it has all what we are looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it internally to log into our used web sites to add extra login process to keep things secured as much as we can.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a way to keep your login online more secured then this is an easy way to use.
you will put your password then it will send notification to your mobile to approve login.
you won't be able to login without this confirmation on the mobile.

Though pricey, a very good 2FA offering

  • September 11, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy integration with all of our applications. Having an Apple Watch version available as a client makes using is so very easy. New features being added regularly
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing is a bit high. We are basically using 2FA only from DUO but the Azure MFA is more or less free addition in the EMS offering.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We (everyone actually) need 2FA for Enterprise applications on the web. Having is realized through DUO made it a lot more safer to publish our applications.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Compare all other vendors, you might have 2FA already available.

If I have to use it, at least it's the best to do the job

  • April 02, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
That it's fairly easy. I'm dislike that my school has switched to multi-factor authentication, however if we HAVE to use it, I prefer it to, say, Amazon, where you have to be texted.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that if I don't have my phone or passcode, I can't get in to websites I need. I also dislike that some sites require duo, but don't actually have the duo confirmation page come up (you have to use your phone or change the password to include the passcode).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Protecting valuable data on education as well as billing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need multi-factor authentication, this is the best possible product to do it.

Two-factor security for accessing protected information

  • April 01, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Our team's research utilizes protected information that only authorized users can access. Duo provides a simple mobile app synchronized with an online account that provides secure two-factor authentication. This method of secure authentication is reliable and fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
Duo becomes tedious for employees if companies require all websites to use Duo. If a Duo sign-in is required at every log in (rather than once every 12 hours or 30 days, for example), it might hinder rather than help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ensuring that employees are accessing protected information securely and safely is made easy with Duo.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Administrators should be sure that only those applications or websites containing protected information use Duo. Become familiar with and use the options allowing for an extending login time without having to go through Duo again. These two recommendations will save employees a lot of tedious trouble using Duo.

Easy two-factor authentification

  • March 29, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like the integration this security system offers with Apple and Android devices. Especially the Apple Watch. It is very easy to accept a push from your phone when you want to get into a secured system quickly. I also like that sometimes you can use a code produced from the app to get into a secured system.

The home page is also very easy to use and navigate.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I have to go into the app to actually make the push alert appear. Also, you have to unlock your phone to accept the push or it won't work. Also, if you don't have your phone with you, you have to have the password to get into your systems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using this product to keep a firewall between the outside world and our sensitive property. It is a good way to separate what is not a secure system and what is. A benefit we have realized is that we are able to use this 2 factor security system really seamlessly with our password management product. It makes it really simple and easy to get into Duo in other ways beyond the simple push option.

Duo Security

  • March 15, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Knowing my log ins are secure, app is easy to use
What do you dislike about the product?
An extra step to log in. When using on phone, does not automatically go back to app / screen you were trying to log into. Sometimes takes multiple attempts for authentication request to pop up
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Secure log ins
