    Retail

Good, but limited options.

What do you like best about the product?
How fast I can get responses and specifically on certain platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not very scalable with my time. Watching videos one by one is a pain.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Expensive, but good option to validate hypotheses.

I highly recommend Usertesting.com, great customer service and research platform!

What do you like best about the product?
The customer service is prompt and very helpful. I have always had any issues resolved quickly and professionally. I can get stressed out with deadlines and not being the most tech savvy person out there, so I got lots of questions. I appreciate customer support's positive attitude with me, no matter how surly I can get (even when I try not to! Nobody's perfect...).

There platform is easy to use (or figure out how to use with live customer support in a chat pop-up) in terms of launching a test, moderated or unmoderated.

I also appreciate the ability to make a video reel quickly and put together video highlights from multiple research sessions on a particularly theme. There is a good way to catalogue insights by theme that I have used often. The video clips really make my presentations come to life.
What do you dislike about the product?
There was a learning curve for me. But there always is for me with any software. Learning this platform is worth the investment in time. It is a one-stop shop. I guess that is not a "dislike"... I really can't think of anything at this point. I have been using the platform for 2 years through my company, as part of the Strategic Insights department.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am better understanding are three different user groups/potential customers and getting good insights into the digital expectations of the current online customer in 2020.

    Entertainment

I don't recommend websites to friends and colleagues.

What do you like best about the product?
Quickly accessing customers feedback for web and mobile prototypes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not being able to do testing on TVs and not being able to create a complex screener.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Basic usability issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's limited in functionality but overall a useful tool to have in the UXR toolkit.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how you can recruit easily on UT.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the interface for UT. It's quite difficult to navigate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Financial behaviors. UT has been more than valuable in our design process.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
No other recommendations.

Keeps You Testing More

  • March 31, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that UserTesting is simple to set up and that they find testers for your OR allow you to bring your own recruits. That flexibility makes it easy to hit the right demographic for your test.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside for me is that UserTesting does not support a Chinese interface. In my work, I need to test new designs in Chinese, but I have to get testers who are comfortable enough with English to make their way through the interface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
UserTesting is helping me find what works and what doesn't work on the designs for our Chinese experiences. It makes it cheaper to solve the problems BEFORE we go into Build.

    Financial Services

I have found it valuable for creative optimization.

  • March 31, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The multiple options of how to test and ask test questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a way for users to select multiple answers during the test itself because it's a possibility in the screener.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creatively optimizing. Primarily emails. It helps to solve for variables and to gain other areas of insight that we might not have noticed a huge bonus or major pain point.

Valuable User Insights

  • March 31, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
UserTesting gives our team easy access to gather user insights as we are iterating on our products. The solution is relatively simple and easy to learn. Customer service and support has been very helpful as we have ramped up our usage of the tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing of UserTesting is a bit of a barrier. The solution is fully featured, but it comes at a price. If you don't have a dedicated group focused on testing and interpreting the results it might not be worth the cost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use UserTesting to gather insights about our current product suite and where we need to focus our energy in iteration. We also use it in our prototyping process before build to get a solid minimum viable product out the door.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you have a plan in place for how you will use UserTesting immediately upon implementation to ensure you are realizing value for the price paid.

    Marketing and Advertising

UsertTesting is a user friendly tool to quickly capture valuable feedback.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the flexibility of the question format, user demographics and plans.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really don’t have any issues with the system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I test everything from wireframes to changing elements on a site. I find that getting feedback from users is 5he best way to get unbiased feedback and saves the time and money to redesign a site or element of a site after the fact.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It’s important to understand the concepts of user testing as a tool, focus groups, surveys etc in order to capture unbiased information.

Great tool for remote usability testing

  • March 31, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Recruiting is very simple, and overall I've been happy with the the general quality of testers as well as UserTesting's response when testers aren't quality (they are quickly replaced at no additional cost).
Also it makes it easy to analyze and get clips from interview videos - I upload all of my usability test videos into UserTesting for analysis, even if I ran them outside of the platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm used to advanced survey-building tools, so it can be frustrating trying to work around limitations in question types, randomization, etc. when building a test. The analysis question responses is also pretty lackluster. If I'm asking more than a few questions, I'll usually end up redirecting to another survey link.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quick, easy usability results. I save a ton of time on recruiting and analysis. I have more capability to run tests on lower-priority questions in addition to my main research projects because the effort is so low to get quick data form an unmoderated test.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have the money, it's a great resource. It streamlines a lot of the most tedious parts of usability research.

It does what it needs but it could be more intuitive.

  • March 31, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I've quite enjoyed how fast it's been to gain user insights - when a test gets published I tend to get first results in an hour. It works really well in imitating new user situations and people generally know to give enough details and share their thoughts throughout the testing process. It's been good to use for building empathy and conviction in product teams - nothing works as well as having real users share their experience in their own words.
What do you dislike about the product?
The usability of the environment isn't too great. So it's a bit time consuming to learn, plus some actions in setting up tests just aren't intuitive. After you learn how to set up what you need and do some run-throughs, it luckily isn't that big of a hassle but I'd honestly prefer to learn how to use a platform to the max without a demo session - just my personal preference.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've mostly used it to spot usability issues quickly and what implications some designs have. I also use it to find hints of larger product problems that we can research through live user-testing sessions and interviews later. Though I haven't used the aid of UT for the latter.
The main benefit I've seen is the speed of which I can get tests done. Though it's also provided enough background to guide us in exploring solutions for more complex problems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely worth it to try, it might fit your needs.
