Longterm Journey with Maximp
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to taylor it to your own business processes through the use of Maximo's features. Using a combination of workflows, escalations, additional data fields, relationships, conditional processing and automation scripting, the process of data entry for your users can be easily to follow and and greatly increase data integrity.

The same ability that allows to to customeize the screens also leads to it being difficult to troubleshoot problems. There is also the lask of standard comprehensive manual or wiki on the IBM web site.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem that I solved was being able to control the approval of workflows to the department budget manager that is affectedd.

What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the licensing model and trying to figure out what license levels have access to which modules.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to become more proactive rather than reactive when it comes to maintenance. We are also trying to digitally capture all our asset information, work history, spare parts, etc. to allow us to have a better understanding of how our assets are performing while improving uptime.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You must have management support and buy-in before implementing Maximo (or any EAM system). Without support from the top, driving behavior and system adoption, it will take decades to accomplish any results using any software.
