Red Hat OpenShfit Platform Review
What do you like best about the product?
The best part of the RedHat OpenShift Platform is the UI which makes it easy even for a new person to use. Unlike other Container platforms, this UI feature is very helpful in managing the application.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is an on-premise solution which makes it difficult to put a lot of capital upfront for setting up the cluster, which makes it more expensive when compared to other cloud-based Kubernetes platforms. With the growing cloud trend, the organizations will keep looking for a more cost-effective platform instead of investing massive capital into OpenShift.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We managed our platform efficiently with OpenShift and were able to deploy applications with much ease. With the UI, we could solve any deployment-related issues much faster than other Kubernetes platforms, which has to be through CLI.
Easy to access the cloud env from the OCP console
What do you like best about the product?
I like OCP env much while working on my Pega app running in OCP. It gives the easy access to open each POD and the configuration maps. I like the auto scaling on a particular POD easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool doesn't have a good UI while accessing the configuration from the console.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our application is hosted on the Openshift cloud environment and we are using the enterprise edition for this. As our app is small, we are good with all the given settings from the console.
Perfect for orchestrating envrironments on the fly
What do you like best about the product?
How easy is it to spin up a single machine or a whole development environment. Thanks to the catalog, the OC CLI, and the excellent documentation, working with OCP is a breeze.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't dislike anything. My experience from a developer perspective has always been optimal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a developer, I'm using the OCP mainly to spin up environments during the development phase, especially when integrated with tools like GitLab to prepare automated feature environments to test and demo every feature separately before merging to master.
Will recommend it to others, as Openshift provide several others features which plain K8S doesn't
What do you like best about the product?
Source to Image functionality, User-friendly UI
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to dislike at this moment. It has all the extra features that we have to add to plain K8S
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly container orchestration.
Logging & Monitoring also comes pre-installed in Openshift

OCP 4.6 Platform review
What do you like best about the product?
Friendly UI experience, easy to learn, explore and do the deployments of the application in multiple approaches. Quick troubleshooting experience, easy usage of the operators. Happy to use the platform overall.
What do you dislike about the product?
As of now not found any such downside, but in a few places, while using ingress service for path-based routing with TLS config there were hiccups due to limitations. Somewhere found less documentation about the NFS server implementation with the cluster in the AWS environment. Otherwise, it was all a good rich experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deploying the applications was very easy because of the better understanding and troubleshooting of the issues. More secured and well documented and it came as the right match to our needs.
