What do you like best about the product?
Best thing about it is it keeps on updating with new security threats and the application integration platform which allows API's to connect easily and efficiently
What do you dislike about the product?
The VPN speed is not as expected it is not that slow but it is slow if compared to other VPNs,and the implementation cost is relatively high.excepts those it doesn't have much cons.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Connecting my cloud apps to data center s through the gateway provided by VyOS.
That gave me extra security to my data and peace of mind of including the firewall. It increased my productivity and reduce the team effort

VyOS has a great team on support

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about VyOS is that I think it is the only OS in the market that supports all kinds of network protocols. Their support is very fast and extremely convenient according to your needs. VyOS also provides support for Wireguard and RestAPI.
What do you dislike about the product?
The one and only bad thing about VyOS is that it does not has a web interface to display statistical information. But it's okay we were able to do our work without it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have solved many problems with VyOS for example I have configured everything from the command-line tool. I have set fq-codel in a very intuitive way and it worked flawlessly.

An excellent support team and great product, we are using it for VPN connections for our company and it works great.

    Cloud Formation

Non Cloud

The product is not compatible with AWS standard procedure; Cloud Init, User Data, Cloud Formation. Usable only for manual configuration, which is contradicting the reason why people are in AWS (automation). No clear documentation to make it work, like people have time to guess and troubleshoot your product?!? I use the paid version. Now will abandon this product.

Excellent appliance at fair price

We have been using VyOS for standard and dynamic (routed) VPNs, GRE tunneling, NAT, Firewall and it delivers everything with rock-solid stability. The CLI is very intuitive and easy to understand even if you have never used VyOS before (of course some networking background would be required). The price/performance ratio is perfect fit for hybrid dispersed environments, making the "journey to the cloud" more affordable and easier.

    Autonet Mobile

A highly reliable and reasonably priced router/VPN/firewall Network Operating System

We've been using VyOS in production on our networks for about five years now, and it's provided rock-solid service. We moved to Sentrium for professional support, which we haven't had to use much - but when we did, the response times and quality of assistance were top tier, making it absolutely worth the price.

Highly recommended.

Solid appliance for terminating IPsec in the cloud

My organization uses VyOS appliances to implement a security services VPC for other VPCs in our infrastructure. We've been very pleased with the stability and performance. If you are looking to "roll your own" NAT instance, you may want to consider using VyOS. One major caveat to deployment is a complete lack of documentation for VyOS's cloud-init implementation, which was re-written for 1.2. This a big pain point for us as our infrastructure is codified in terraform. Overall, I would encourage companies with complex VPC networking requirements to evaluate this product.
