What is most valuable?
The platform has a user-friendly interface. It doesn't require any core technical knowledge. It is for business people. Whoever knows business requirements and functions can quickly build and leverage the platform. It is easier to use than other technical open-source technologies.
What needs improvement?
The platform's stability and support can be improved. It could have a lot of data transformation features. Additionally, they should include custom code languages like Java and Python. There should be more features to accommodate complex integrations and automation. Currently, it only has simple data mapping functionality, which needs to be improved for the use cases.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Workato for around six months for a small project.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
From the deployment point of view, our customers encounter platform downtime where it does not serve the actual request on the systems. We have to perform some restarts and redeployments to bring it up. We also contacted the support team to log a complaint on this common issue. They are still improving.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We have medium and enterprise business customers for Workato.
How are customer service and support?
The customer support is good. They have real-time chat facilities to go and talk to a tech support person. You can raise a case and follow up on the portal.

How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is straightforward. The platform is accessible through a web browser. You don't have to worry much about development aspects. You can access the platform for data integrations. Once you have the licenses, you're ready to deploy your applications. From a development perspective, it is straightforward. However, the simplicity depends on the type of deployment. If you opt for simple deployment, handling it is straightforward. When you deploy Workato apps in a customer-hosted or optimize-based environment, you need to establish connectivity between your organization and the Workato platform. It can be done using a VPN connection. It might be more complex compared to other deployment options involving both databases.
The product's maintenance is straightforward and offers various features for monitoring work. They provide many features to trigger alerts among the application respondents. Everything is readily available.
The number of people required for maintenance depends on the scale of the project.
What other advice do I have?
Enterprises without an experienced technical team to build solutions can utilize Workato. It's user-friendly and easy to learn, with the Workato team offering email support for customer assistance. It is beneficial for handling everyday integration automation tasks. Therefore, people looking to set up use cases quickly with less coding expertise can go for the platform.

An easy way to create integrations with our LMS
What do you like best about the product?
Using Workato allows us to create as many integrations as we desire with our Learning Management System. We are creating integration that requires a low-code environment and you don't have to care about creating an infrastructure.
Is definitely a solution for all our customers that don't have developers in their company. Using Workato is empowering the usage of our product since now it's so convenient to create any kind of integrations.

What do you dislike about the product?
I would enlarge a bit the timeout of the recipes. Sometimes we have to deal with a lot of data and the Timeout of recipes is always to take into consideration. I would love to have a copy and paste between different environments.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can easily integrate our API with any other system that is using REST API. The actions allow us to have a prefilled structure that makes our endpoint easy to be used even from a non developer person

What do you like best about the product?
Other than being intuitive, it is easy to find answers to problems posted online and their live chat support feature is pretty amazing. I can get support within 5 minutes of chatting.
What do you dislike about the product?
You need to be a bit more mindful on how you structure your Recipes against your license package so as to optimize task consumption and avoid concurrency failures. This is however a pretty standard requirement in my opinion, the same would apply if you were to write code.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Most of the problems we solve revolve around integrating the different systems used in our marketing team. Having all of our integrations within a single platform such as Workato makes it easier for us to monitor failures and errors so that we may promptly correct them when needed.

What do you like best about the product?
Great online chat support. Timely responses to my requests. The tool is very robust and intuitive to use. Short learning curve to get up and running. We are users of OICS and found it very hard to work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
Thus far, I've yet to find anything that I don't like about Workato...the only thing is we had a rude awakening when we found out that we were being charged on a task basis. Oracle OIC did not charge this way and thus, when we converted our integrations over to recipes, the number of tasks was huge. Thus skyrocketing our costs

What do you like best about the product?
What I like is that I have migrated entire business processes in an easy and intuitive way without having to write a single line of code. The logic and recipes are easy to learn and to be interpreted by other team members.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I have had to enter long formulas and they fail at run time, the errors that are thrown don't provide much help as to what is wrong with the formula. I would like Workato to indicate where exactly the formula should be corrected.

Workato substantially eliminates the need to write code that is often difficult to interpret. In addition, it speeds up the implementation of business automation processes. Also, it facilitates the promotion of solutions from Development to Testing and Production as well as the automation of Unit tests.
An intuitive and easy to use solution that can be used for transformation and quick data migrations from one platform to another
What is our primary use case?
We use Workato for iPaaS, which is like a middleware enterprise service bus. We use it for transformation, quick data migrations from one platform to another, and building connectivity. It's got over 300 pre-built connectors. We use it mostly for migration projects for quick benefits over traditional solutions.
What is most valuable?
Workato is low code, intuitive, and easy to use. The biggest feature of Workato is its pre-built connectors. Suppose you have to move something between Salesforce and ServiceNow. Based on the volume of data you're looking at and the complexity, this would take anywhere between three to six months in SSIS. With Workato, you can do it in two to four weeks once you have all the data and requirements mapped out.
What needs improvement?
Workato's Extract, transform, and load (ETL) and extract, load, and transform (ELT) are not very strong and could be improved for very complex transformations. Workato's licensing model is a bit confusing, and it's not very transparent. They charge for SAP, but then there's a cap on the number of transactions as well. I found it very difficult to understand how each transaction is considered.

I have been using Workato for more than two years.

I had no issues with Workato’s stability.
I rate Workato a nine out of ten for stability.

Workato is a pretty scalable solution. About three to four of our customers are using Workato.

We have seen a return on investment with Workato.

Workato is an expensive solution.
What other advice do I have?
Workato is deployed on-cloud in our organization. They've also got an on-premises connector, but primarily it's on-cloud. It's a SaaS application.
If budget is not a constraint, I'd definitely recommend Workato because of its ease of use and the time it takes to get started and see an outcome. The solution has helped our customers see an outcome in less than two weeks. The solution's cost is on the higher side, but if budget is not a constraint, then you can choose Workato.
Workato is a pretty solid platform. The solution's ease of use and the ability to deliver results make it very intuitive to define complex transformations.
Overall, I rate Workato a nine out of ten.

What do you dislike about the product?
There's not very much that I dislike about Workato. I think they could improve how they price out the platform and allow for tiered billing of recipes depending on volume of tasks/jobs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Workato for our Order to Cash integrations, quote to signing, building out Slack Workbots with various system approvals within Slack and also do some ETL to get system data into Snowflake when we are unable to use a Fivetran connector.

It has changed our business for the best! We can spin up new integrations in a week and sometimes days! I was happy to be able to be a part of the decision-making process to go with Workato.

I haven't run across anything that we haven't liked yet.

Connecting outside services to our internal API. It allows us to help any customer create a solution for using their current systems integrating into our platform.

What do you like best about the product?
I love how Workato has integration connectors available for the most popular apps. Creating a workflow is extremely simple, and their live support team is extremely helpful. The bi-monthly conversations I have with the dedicated Customer success manager are very helpful too.
What do you dislike about the product?
The live support team takes a lottttt of time to reply. While they are highly knowledgeable and help fix any issue, i have to wait a lot t get their reply. This is a nightmare because it keeps me continuously distracted from my regular work that day.
Also, I think there are still some popular apps that can have a ready-to-use connector but they aren't there yet and we have to custom build it.
