An intuitive and easy to use solution that can be used for transformation and quick data migrations from one platform to another
What is our primary use case?
We use Workato for iPaaS, which is like a middleware enterprise service bus. We use it for transformation, quick data migrations from one platform to another, and building connectivity. It's got over 300 pre-built connectors. We use it mostly for migration projects for quick benefits over traditional solutions.
What is most valuable?
Workato is low code, intuitive, and easy to use. The biggest feature of Workato is its pre-built connectors. Suppose you have to move something between Salesforce and ServiceNow. Based on the volume of data you're looking at and the complexity, this would take anywhere between three to six months in SSIS. With Workato, you can do it in two to four weeks once you have all the data and requirements mapped out.
What needs improvement?
Workato's Extract, transform, and load (ETL) and extract, load, and transform (ELT) are not very strong and could be improved for very complex transformations. Workato's licensing model is a bit confusing, and it's not very transparent. They charge for SAP, but then there's a cap on the number of transactions as well. I found it very difficult to understand how each transaction is considered.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Workato for more than two years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I had no issues with Workato’s stability.
I rate Workato a nine out of ten for stability.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Workato is a pretty scalable solution. About three to four of our customers are using Workato.
How was the initial setup?
Workato’s initial setup is very easy.
What was our ROI?
We have seen a return on investment with Workato.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Workato is an expensive solution.
What other advice do I have?
Workato is deployed on-cloud in our organization. They've also got an on-premises connector, but primarily it's on-cloud. It's a SaaS application.
If budget is not a constraint, I'd definitely recommend Workato because of its ease of use and the time it takes to get started and see an outcome. The solution has helped our customers see an outcome in less than two weeks. The solution's cost is on the higher side, but if budget is not a constraint, then you can choose Workato.
Workato is a pretty solid platform. The solution's ease of use and the ability to deliver results make it very intuitive to define complex transformations.
Overall, I rate Workato a nine out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Workato is amazing
What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Workato for the past two years, and I must say Workato has exceeded my expectations in every aspect. This automation platform offers a remarkable level of ease of use, lightning-fast processing, and robust error-handling capabilities, making it an invaluable tool for any business or individual seeking to streamline their workflows.
First and foremost, the user experience with Workato is exceptional. The interface is intuitive and well-designed, allowing users of all technical backgrounds to navigate and leverage its powerful features easily. Whether you're a seasoned automation expert or a novice looking to automate processes for the first time, Workato makes the journey seamless and straightforward. You can very quickly build out a POC and know quickly if your time will be well spent continuing to build out an automation
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not very much that I dislike about Workato. I think they could improve how they price out the platform and allow for tiered billing of recipes depending on volume of tasks/jobs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Workato for our Order to Cash integrations, quote to signing, building out Slack Workbots with various system approvals within Slack and also do some ETL to get system data into Snowflake when we are unable to use a Fivetran connector.

What do you like best about the product?
It has changed our business for the best! We can spin up new integrations in a week and sometimes days! I was happy to be able to be a part of the decision-making process to go with Workato.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't run across anything that we haven't liked yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Connecting outside services to our internal API. It allows us to help any customer create a solution for using their current systems integrating into our platform.
Workato helps me achieve my integration roadmap
What do you like best about the product?
I love how Workato has integration connectors available for the most popular apps. Creating a workflow is extremely simple, and their live support team is extremely helpful. The bi-monthly conversations I have with the dedicated Customer success manager are very helpful too.
What do you dislike about the product?
The live support team takes a lottttt of time to reply. While they are highly knowledgeable and help fix any issue, i have to wait a lot t get their reply. This is a nightmare because it keeps me continuously distracted from my regular work that day.
Also, I think there are still some popular apps that can have a ready-to-use connector but they aren't there yet and we have to custom build it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Business Applications Manager
What do you like best about the product?
Lots of functionality built-in
Fast implementation
Ease of Use
What do you dislike about the product?
I think it would be great to add more visibility, functionality and control to the logger
Also, it would be great to add more features to the overall recipes monitoring
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Workato as a platform for integration between systems
Using Workato we have a great scalable and reliable platform to build our recipes quickly with lots of functionality available and ease of use
Integration with Workato
What do you like best about the product?
The new feature Workflow App has provided a front end portal for future development.
What do you dislike about the product?
The features on the product can be improved such as manifest imports into any environments to exclude some dependencies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data Masking for PII
New account creation and loan origination
GL reconciliation
Marketing Campaign
Demographic data
As developer I was able to convert Java based code of 4000 lines into around 30 manageable recipes.
What do you like best about the product?
I like Connectors and its cusomization. It is easy to develop solutions for integrating multiple saas providers.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does not provide real time reading messages from AWS sqs queue. Also customization of custom connector is complex.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workato is allowing us to pass data to and from different saas providers and keep saas systems in sync with each other.
A powerful tool but can be a bit inflexible
What do you like best about the product?
I like the speed with which we can build out processes to transform/post data. It didn't take me too much time to build a process and it would be easy for others on my team to be able to make updates or add improvements.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a bit inflexible for some of the more complex things I want to do. It is pretty expensive as far as the number of tasks I can eat through in a day. I would rather build microservices in Python even though it would be harder to train others on how to do this because this gives me a lot more control over my processes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping us with an ETL process and it has benefitted us by not taking as much time to roll this out.
Perfect Low Code No Code Tool
What do you like best about the product?
The way we build integration is effortless, takes less time to create & very efficient in performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
No reason to hate such a wonderful middleware low code no code tool

Workato enables you like no other IPAAS solution
What do you like best about the product?
I love the robustness of Workato. There are several ways to connect to various systems.
The community is a great asset to my work. Ideas on integrations & connectors the community has built have sparked ideas on automating tasks that save our team hours.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think more documentation is needed. There's so much you can do, but not as much content available to help overcome obstacles more quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workato has opened the doors for our team to automate necessary business processes that take a lot of time.
