Sleek and simple to use
What do you like best about the product?
The user-friendly design and the super helpful tutorials are unmatched in any other product I've seen of its type.
What do you dislike about the product?
The price for hosting sites is a bit steep for smaller website owners. However, my high-end clients that have the budget are easily won over.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Free WordPress website staging is invaluable to a freelancers business.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend Pantheon to all freelance WordPress Consultants and agencies alike. Especially for clients with bigger budgets and bigger websites.
Solid Hosting Provider
What do you like best about the product?
Pantheon really excels at performance. I honestly don't know how they get WordPress sites to operate as fast as they do. It's incredible.
What do you dislike about the product?
-You really don't need a dev environment in their cloud. More ideally, it would just be dev locally, staging/prod in the cloud.
-Very rigid. You have to play by their roles. SSO, cookies, 3rd party tools can be tough to get working in their environment.
-Would love to see more options other than WordPress and Drupal. Support for headless architectures is lacking as well.
-Curious to see how the experiments with CircleCI pay off - continuous integration would be a nice feature that is lacking currently.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
-Biggest win from pantheon is the developer experience. It's just so much easier to get going with their platform than anyone else.
-I love using Lando locally in conjunction with Pantheon. It makes moving the DB around so easy.
-Git based deployments that work out of the box is also a huge win.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do you homework if you have a very custom setup - it can be complicated to get legacy systems to play nice with Pantheon. I've had to bail on a couple of Pantheon installs because their cookie system is so rigid.
My Pantheon review
What do you like best about the product?
Pantheon has environments that based on git branches. So, you can create extra environments that you have (dev-test-live)
What do you dislike about the product?
It is difficult to find an answer for some issues with Lando setup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
developing and maintaining Wordpress sites
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get used to Lando
Good for agencies
What do you like best about the product?
The developer tools and documentation are excellent. The multi-development environments, the git workflow, backups, merge tools, status check, terminus, are all very useful and well-developed. I rarely have problems with them.
What do you dislike about the product?
The recent price increase has put me on edge. I don't mind paying top dollar for a top notch product, but I really dislike when a company alters an existing agreement. I wish there was more warning, explanation, and account taken for existing customers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pantheon provides a great platform to manage all of our sites, as well as to give access to clients before making changes to a site.
Pricing change is total crap
What do you like best about the product?
I liked Dustin in support but with him gone it is just crap
What do you dislike about the product?
Things have become so complicated just to launch a Drupal 8 site
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Clients of mine are upset about the pricing change because they do not receive additional value. You're selling a service to end clients which developers use and developers reap the benefits but the client doesn't see that so the pricing changes have been not well received by any of my clients all of what you want to change platforms as soon as possible
Robust Provider for Agencies
What do you like best about the product?
The feature we like the best is that it offers a dev environment for testing.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much that we dislike about this platform/service.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to provide a great value to our clients by migrating their website to Pantheon. Their SEO has benefited.
Great product
What do you like best about the product?
It lets me focus on building websites and not having to worry about my dev ops.
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation can be a little sketchy at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Faster and more reliable hosting
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Talk to the support staff, they're excellent.
Great Platform
What do you like best about the product?
We primarily host D7 and D8 sites. The ease of use to deploy between environments is great, coupled with their command line utility, Terminus.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much I dislike. Accessing some of the logs requires creating a shell script but that only takes a minute.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trying to reduce server management costs while meeting all our development requirements.
Great UX for agencies and customers
What do you like best about the product?
The workflow management system for Drupal
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited ability to install custom profiles
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the hardest parts of working on large scale Drupal projects is setting up and managing a dev/stage/production environment where updates can be pushed and pulled quickly and easily. Drupal is known for this problem. Pantheon has overcome that issue with their system which makes it a front runner for hosting Drupal sites. Both team members and customers are quickly and easily able to make updates on dev, push to stage, review on stage, then push to production. No hassle with databases, exporting features, etc etc. Plus, simply having a clean GUI for managing your sites is a major upside. Developers don't mind the Terminal, but customers need colored buttons and big text to help them move swiftly.
Makes team-based Dev work Easy
What do you like best about the product?
I really like that Pantheon offers multi-dev environments. I work with 4 other devs and this allows use to have seamless integration that limited errors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Logging into Dbs and sftp could be a simpler or the field larger. It is sometimes difficult to see it you have copied all of the dB password.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It really simplifies the GO LIVE PROCESS. I love that you can pull the code down from the live environment.
