A developer best friend
What do you like best about the product?
The automation, easy-to-use and time-saving benefits that come with the use of Pantheon. Every time we have a project that requires the use of Drupal or Wordpress we know what we're gonna be using for hosting/deployment.
What do you dislike about the product?
The "limitations", and by this I mean the platforms we can use with Pantheon. I'm pretty sure that by the time they decided to release Pantheon, Drupal and Wordpress were the best/more popular choices but to be honest, one is too complex for smaller sites and the other one just feels outdated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Infrastructure, that's the main problem Pantheon solved for us. We're a small development team so the less time we spend doing sysadmin work the more productive we can be. We feel so comfortable with the container solution and the tools provided by Pantheon that when we use it for a project we don't worry (too much) about deployment, downtimes, SLA's or platform updates.
Overall have been extremely happy with Pantheon for all of our web-hosting needs
What do you like best about the product?
How quickly we can deploy sites from different development stages to production is excellent, with typical build deployments taking five minutes, much faster than other providers we've tried! I also found the UI extremely easy to navigate when having to perform different functions e.g. clearing server cache, commit logs, or reviewing someone else's code. We've also found the notifications for when there is a server issue to be highly useful, as we receive notifications via text message immediately.
What do you dislike about the product?
We haven't noticed any major flaws in the product, and we have been using it for a range of purposes for over two years now. When onboarding new developers, we've found the UI simple for them to navigate, a major advantage as we rely heavily on freelancers to assist in builds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem was the need to streamline our pipeline so we could get links to project managers faster than we were previously. This problem has been resolved through pantheon, due to the turnaround from dev to prod being so much faster than we were used to. This has definitely been one of the major advantages of switching to pantheon for us. Additionally, we've found restoring to previous builds through the backup environment has been much easier in Pantheon and again has solved a problem we were having when requested to find old assets from builds we had done.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Overall thoroughly recommend Pantheon for web-hosting services.
Great Wordpress and Drupal Hosting for Agencies
What do you like best about the product?
Easy user interface and structure for setting up and maintaining your Wp and Drupal sites. Nice split between dev/test/live environments. Easy DNS setup and love the automatic SSL licensing. Really good support, too. I've tried a lot of hosting services, so far, I like this one the best.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pushing Git updates is confusing at fist. Gets better when you work more on it. Moving between SFTP and Git is challenging when saving work or updating files. Takes a bit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pricing is good, great for agencies. If you want a free service, this isn't it. But, great service overall and if you have multiple clients, its' a great service.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Well worth a look for agencies to be a preferred opartmer
Simple but powerful Drupal hosting using best practises
What do you like best about the product?
The interface is clean and allows collaboration. The git based code management easy to use. Backup and restore is simple. Support is rarely needed - but when it is - they are very helpful
What do you dislike about the product?
Cost - we started on a cheap package but got busted up to a much larger one due to traffic
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automated patching - team working (even with third parties) - easy hosting
Setting the Gold Standard for Web Hosting
What do you like best about the product?
Regardless of whether a site is being managed by developers or by the client, best practices for testing and deployments are required as part of the environment flow. This sets standards and ensures that proper processes are followed for all sites. Not only does this help dev teams, but it also makes for a better more secure web.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing can be a little high for smaller clients, but can be slightly offset through an agency discount.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fluid environment syncing and smooth deployments. Using Lando alongside Pantheon makes development across environments and teams so fast and easy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use Lando to configure your local development and using the Pantheon recipes you can have perfect parity and keep all environments and teammates perfectly integrated.
High recommend for others working on Drupal
What do you like best about the product?
Pantheon has been our go-to since 2014, and I've done both Drupal 7 and Drupal 8 and Wordpress on the platform. It is easy to understand and has a straightforward "dashboard" to allow you to spin up new sites. The dev, test, and live environments come with any hosting plan and you can "sandbox" by trying out the tools prior to getting a paid hosting package.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a bit of a challenge to get started; however there are many tips and tutorials to understand the workflow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're deploying multiple Drupal 8 websites on Pantheon and its ease of use, ability for the client/end customer to view items in test mode (prior to going live) and access to support team has been so helpful.
Another tip is the upgrade paths, for many clients doing a Drupal upgrade is difficult and time-consuming, Pantheon's automatic upgrades allow them to make the change as soon as updated code is available.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
It would be wise to reassess current budget and track against pricing plans to see where your organization lands in terms of usage.
Excellent technical and administrative support
What do you like best about the product?
The knowledgeable technical and account support
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing about Pantheon to dislike
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problems: Lack of Wordpress and hosting technical support, setup of complex Dev, Test and Live enviroments.
Benefits: A simple user interface the Dev, Test and Live enviroments. Questions answered rapidly via live chat. A cost effective hosting migration from an existing Drupal site to a Wordpress site.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
I evaluate a support organisation by firstly their technical solution and then equally important, what is the support when events go wrong or become highly technical. Pantheon passes those 2 criteria with flying colours.

Nothing much. But I found file storing & handling a bit complex.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good managed hosting for Drupal
Great hosting and dev tools
What do you like best about the product?
The easy ability to spin up new instances as needed, to control the environment from the command line and the rock-solid support and infrastructure. The deep knowledge of the Drupal environment is a critical must-have.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not having SSH access to our environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting customized environments spun up that do not take several days to initialize
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take a deep look at what can be done with Terminus and use the support team
Pantheon - makes my workload more manageable
What do you like best about the product?
The Pantheon platform is reliable. After all, without uptime, it doesn't matter how great the development workflow is. Support is awesome and are always available to help.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing that I dislike that is worth writing about. Any small nuisance is outweighed by the benefits.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workload has lessened tremendously with the Pantheon platform. Developing new sites is a breeze. In addition, the multi-environment feature of the platform allows me to improving existing sites using live data, get approval from the stakeholders and launch with a few clicks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take advantage of free sandbox account to review the platform for yourself.
