Fast. Reliable. Customer Service is SO SO only.
What do you like best about the product?
Fast speeds. Reliable. Price is acceptable.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you run into a troubleshooting issue, watch out! It will take some time to resolve it (a few days).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bandwidth. Storage. Speed. Pantheon provides all 3 in an acceptable pricing structure.
Transitioning to Pantheon for Better Performance
What do you like best about the product?
Pantheon's multi-dev environment provides a easy workflow allowing multiple team members to branch, commit, test, and deploy. I also really appreciate Pantheon's detailed documentation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pantheon's dashboard can be a little buggy and we ran into issues when changing organizations for sites for migration hosting. We also have been having issues with varnish configurations for Wordpress sites.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We want better performance and have been switching alot of our clients to Pantheon for hosting.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Integration and hosting, Performance reports
Makes simple tasks overly complicated
What do you like best about the product?
I think their pricing is affordable and I understand the concept of what they are trying to do with the service. For a large scale website it could prove useful.
Customer service is responsive and good.
Customer service is responsive and good.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface is extremely convoluted and they make simple tasks very difficult. Also I do not see the need for three different versions of a website. There should just be a staging version and a live version and that is it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have not realized any benefits with using the product really. It has caused more problems than solutions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would not consider it, there are better services out there.
fantastic hosts
What do you like best about the product?
Pantheon really does so much of the heavy lifting for you. The way it integrates with different services is amazing. It's not really webhosting in the conventional sense of VPS or shared account, or own server. It's something altogether different. I really love the automatic free SSL cert integration, the automatic CDN, among other things. With Pantheon I know they are constantly optimizing for performance with various cache levels that I don't even have to think about. Honestly, it's just way better than anything else I've seen. Especially for Drupal development.
What do you dislike about the product?
Because it's such a tight service, sometimes custom things you might want to do can't be done. Usually though, whatever you want is already implemented already.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work for an agency and we build a tonne of Drupal and Wordpress sites. Pantheon is just the best for this.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try their low priced tier and see how it works for you. Even their lowest priced tier performs admirably.
Pantheon helps me sleep soundly at night
What do you like best about the product?
Having three separate environments and experts standing by to help are the best things about Pantheon.
We love being able to start each project with a custom upstream. That saves time and helps our developers get a quicker start.
I also appreciate the automatic backs up and the on-click updates. This makes it easier for our clients to update their sites. And if they run into any issues, they can also roll-back the backups.
Customer support at Pantheon is also awesome. Being able to live chat saves time and gets our questions answered very quickly.

What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it's difficult to connect via SSH or SFTP to the server, but it's a minor inconvenience. This is necessary because the Ips change often.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hosting is rock solid and clients don't complain about down-time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The price is great and the service can't be beat.
nice
What do you like best about the product?
the sandbox allow me to test before launch
What do you dislike about the product?
customer service is slow and not helpful
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
our website no longer crash with the hosting

if needed I will
DevOps + Premium Hosting in one
What do you like best about the product?
Customer support has been absolutely superior to other hosting options/VPS providers/Datacenters. Uptime is as advertised, specifically-tuned environments for Drupal and Wordpress perform flawlessly; UI is simple, intuitive and easy to use
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like to see more done in the HIPPA sector
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Performance, DevOps and rapid POC / Deploy - we have seen tremendous performance improvements, and have tightened up our go-live processes significantly.
Workflow is unbeatable
What do you like best about the product?
As a marketer, I'm not heavy on the tech chops but it's fine since Pantheon makes managing each site stage extremely easy. Granting vendor access is easy too!
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that it was easier to merge Dev and Live in instances where a DB lives only in Dev and you can't push using the workflow since it will overwrite realtime changes in live.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a better third party vendor access solution and Pantheon does that. They also make it easier for non-engineering teams to manage sites without relying on engineering.
Pantheon + J.N. Equipment = 99.9% Uptime & Increased Sales
What do you like best about the product?
Pantheon has great support that is always available, open to your input and very knowledgeable. There is not one staff member that was not educated or could not help me out.
Their multiple application environment combined with Varnish, Redis and other speed solutions including a second database on the Elite plan boosts site speed like there is no tomorrow. Our homepage loading time is now between 0.8-1.2 seconds depending on your browser and internet speed.
Our sales doubled YoY since implementing Pantheon.

What do you dislike about the product?
Their proprietary CLI system, Terminus, runs only on Linux. So if you have a windows PC you have to go an extra mile installing a Linux shell and doing quite some other work.
It is expensive, but you get what you pay for. Depending on the package you need, the price can obviously vary. We are running an Elite plan and are very happy with it.
You cannot directly FTP into the live server as you will keep getting bounced around on the application servers which will prevent you from editing files, deleting or adding them. Instead you need to make everything happen on the development site and push it through. This can get annoying for E-Commerce sites as you can't import directly products either. We had to make a custom REST API application to constantly update our WooCommerce products in bulk.

We had *a lot* of visitors on our old installation as we were ramping up marketing and success, this brought our site down every few hours. Ever since switching to Pantheon we experience almost 0% downtime and can keep collecting sales with our site while providing superior loading times to our visitors.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have uptime issues, consider Pantheon! Gateway 5xx errors in particular as those are server-side. If you run WordPress or Drupal, Pantheon has some of the greatest team to help you out!
Excellent Drupal hosting solution

- A dev, testing and production environments are included by default with no configuration
- the ability to work both with GIT and SFTP lets marketing upload their assets and make minor changes while the technical team can use a traditional workflow
- backups are handled out of the box
- DNS configuration is handled super easily
- DB read and write access is handled super easily
- a CDN comes by default, contributing to a general improvement of performance

What do you dislike about the product?
Pantheon is yet to find a good pricing policy. The current displayed pricing is based on traffic which is not a relevant marker of costs incurred at the pantheon level.
There is no way to configure the CDN (or it is a very costly option), which does not let the customer block malicious traffic.
