    Online Media

Relatively solid but expensive

  • July 18, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Solid platform with which you don't have to worry about hosting and server configuration.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's really specific to Drupal and WordPress. If you want to host a bunch of different things and media, it is not an optimal choice. On top of that, any website with more traffic (100-200k visits / mo) would probably be better off going with something else than paying $1.000 for Pantheon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Avoiding server configuration and worrying about updates.

What do you like best about the product?
easy to use, 3 environments (dev, test, live) + multidev
What do you dislike about the product?
sometimes during copy (files, db) database could crash and remove all the tables from the database. Once I had to manually created the database and the tables. Happened twice, I still don't have 100% valid steps to replicate the issue, but it is happening from time to time on certain projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hosting Drupal 8 websites. Multidev, easy to use. Backups (easy to create and restore).

Occasionally there are quirks with the dashboard.

Security hardening and improved performance in a sleek package.

    Education Management

Great experience

What do you like best about the product?
UI simplicity, functionality of tools, ability to backup and restore site on a moments notice.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not too much to dislike. Compared to a few other hosting solutions I've used in the past, I would consider Pantheon best in breed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Moving our business away from self-hosted solution with minimal tools for deploying/backing up Drupal sites.

Pantheon is the Cadillac of managed WordPress

  • July 18, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to get a WordPress site with dev, test, and live environments up and running (with backups) in under 15 minutes is fantastic. Doing this manually, would take at least an hour or two.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice if Redis was included in the Basic package.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As an agency, reselling Pantheon has helped us significantly reduce the amount of time we spend managing the components require for running our client's websites, including OS patching, database, PHP, web server, backups, and Git repos for dev, test, and live environments.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give Pantheon a try, you can spin up a website or import one into a dev environment, at no cost.

Solid, easy to use

  • July 18, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Pantheon is straightforward and their customer service is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
File size limit can be frustrating as we have to use certain files for projects that have to be of a certain quality
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to recommend a consistently strong hosting solution to all of our clients. With little to no experience, our clients typically can navigate the Pantheon dashboard with ease.

Pantheon has made life so much easy

  • July 18, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Pantheon is very user-friendly. Anyone without prior experience can use Pantheon easily. Creating instance, deployment of code from development environment to test environment and then to live environment can me done with just a click.
What do you dislike about the product?
There should be some option to ignore some files that should not be deployed to test or live environment.
There should be an option to assign a name/note for our Backup(s) created along with the date. It helps in faster revert in case of any issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All the instances namely, Dev, test and live are hosted in same place so it makes CI/CD very easy and smoothly. The option of creating auto backup makes life easier and we need not to worry about it.
