Fast UI creation and responsive support improve project efficiency

  • May 07, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I am using Unqork in the insurance and finance domain. I work in India, and most projects come from companies we term as 'onshore.' Currently, I am working with Transamerica, an insurance company, and previously, I worked for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

What is most valuable?

The major differences with Unqork compared to other platforms include its drag-and-drop functionality, which makes it a low-code, no-code platform. Despite being launched in 2017 and having limited external documentation, it provides an internal platform for help. Unqork has partnered with MongoDB for database support within applications. I can create a fully-fledged UI much faster compared to traditional coding. For example, what might take a day using conventional methods may only take an hour or two with Unqork.

What needs improvement?

There are few aspects that need improvement. I can't find any documentation or instructional videos on YouTube. Learning requires going through certifications that can take several months. There's also a community page, but it doesn't offer instant responses like AI-powered platforms. Another issue is with design compatibility; Unqork has its own styling which often conflicts with designs provided by clients, requiring custom CSS to adjust without disturbing the existing styles.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Unqork for three years.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

There were challenges like integrating certificates for SSO and HTTP, but these were quickly resolved by the Unqork team, who are highly responsive through their Zendesk ticket system.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have been using Unqork for three years and have not faced any kind of stability issues. The only limitation is the lack of external documentation.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I haven't observed any scalability issues. Our projects contain multiple modules, and Unqork allows creating databases within its containers, offering great flexibility without any concerns.

How are customer service and support?

The Unqork team is highly available and responsive. They offer solutions quickly, and I rate their technical support as excellent.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before working with Unqork, I have used low-code/no-code platforms like Bubble UI, Workato, and Boomi by Dell for previous projects.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was straightforward. For basic tasks, all it takes is dragging and dropping components, making it very easy to use. Certificate integration is simple, requiring string input to update.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have worked with other low-code/no-code platforms like Bubble UI and Workato but not as direct alternatives to Unqork.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Unqork around eight out of ten. It is a good platform, but the lack of external resources and documentation makes solving issues challenging. For API endpoints, Unqork requires manually checking modules, unlike the ease found in traditional coding. For these reasons, Unqork scores less in some areas despite its strengths in quick development and built-in resources.

Additionally, handling of conditions in coding areas could be enhanced by eliminating the need for coding when dealing with multiple conditions.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Unqork for around 3.2 years.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

Deployment generally takes about two to three days after thorough testing. We first ensure that everything works well in lower environments before deploying to production and then to UAT.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the stability of Unqork as seven. However, sometimes during testing, if there's a mistake in nested areas or with IF else conditions, it requires extra effort to diagnose issues. Improvements could also be made in creating dashboards.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would rate scalability as six. Unqork needs improvements, especially as operations may halt unexpectedly during testing. Its speed may not match that of traditional programming activities, especially when dealing with front-end designs.

How are customer service and support?

I would rate the technical support as five. While it's generally considered very good, it could still be improved.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I was previously using SQL. As a fresher, I focused on SQL, but by the help of my manager, I got the opportunity to work with Unqork, which I've been pleased with.

How was the initial setup?

I would give the initial setup experience an eight. Even with some coding background, I found Unqork flexible and easy to work with, which encourages me to advance in this technology.

What about the implementation team?

Only one person is generally needed for deployment activities, which take around one hour.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Unqork's pricing is premium. It's structured on a per-user, per-month basis with tiered plans depending on features and scale. This price is seen as justified and offers good value for money.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I mainly focus on no-code tools, specifically Unqork and power automation. Although I started practicing power automation, manual testing still requires more development skills.

What other advice do I have?

Overall, I rate Unqork as eight. I would recommend it, especially to those without coding backgrounds. It provides opportunities for them to grow in this technology.

Facilitates fast UI development with minimal effort and quick turnaround while offering seamless environment transitions

  • April 08, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I brought Unqork into my organization primarily as a self-service tool or as a tool for allowing developers and operations teams to build quick UIs. A lot of our client experiences, self-service experiences, form applications, and similar applications are built on the Unqork platform.

What is most valuable?

The feature of being able to stand a UI with minimal effort and a very quick turnaround is valuable. It allows for easy editing and rapid release to the higher environment without much hassle of processes. The tool does not require heavy management of infrastructure like servers. It is well packaged and sleek, enabling fast changes. The velocity with which I can convert a POC into an implementation or even come up with a POC or an idea is much faster with Unqork.

What needs improvement?

Unqork is not an extremely mature solution. Many things that I worked with them on were functionally basic but missing from the platform. The product lacks the maturity of a more established product, like Appian, which is more of an industry standard. Some basic functionalities were missing, such as version control, which was only introduced recently. There is some degree of inconvenience and maneuverability issues. The product is not an ideal choice for all of a big organization’s tools.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Unqork for more than almost four years, around three and a half to four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

There have been no significant stability issues where the entire platform went down. However, as a SaaS platform, they release enhancements regularly, which can occasionally disrupt existing functionalities. This is a general issue with SaaS providers and not unique to Unqork. Despite this, I would still rate the stability of the solution highly.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable, largely dependent on how the SaaS environment is sized and the contract. I have never encountered an issue with scalability in our setup.

How are customer service and support?

The support is good with decent coverage. It is a paid service, and the level of support corresponds to what I pay for. They are decent and responsive, but the prioritization of requests could improve. The support team's quality can vary, with some resources more efficient than others. Overall, I would rate the service around eight or nine.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

I do not need to handle the initial setup as they offer SaaS offerings, which include multi-tenant deployment. This means there is no need for complex initial setups from the user's end.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I can negotiate good deals with Unqork. While it is difficult to compare value propositions directly, I do not consider it overpriced. In my experience, it seemed somewhat underpriced, possibly due to being an early adopter. Overall, it is reasonably priced in its competitive segment.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I am very intimately familiar with the cost pricing of Appian.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend Unqork but emphasize setting clear expectations on what it can accomplish. It is not a silver bullet for all UI automation needs. I need to be sure about my use cases before using Unqork, as not everything UI-related can be done with it. Overall, I would rate Unqork an eight.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Roles and plugin features enable efficient data management and API interactions

  • March 07, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I have used Unqork for projects where I built multiple screens featuring both read-only and dynamic grids. I have also applied different roles to manage grid views for different personas. Additionally, I use Unqork for various purposes including creating web applications.

What is most valuable?

The plugin feature is the most valuable as it allows me to easily create APIs to interact with databases using plugins. The roles feature, specifically the rollback capability, is also valuable for controlling data visibility. Unqork's capabilities to easily send emails and create PDFs are additional features I appreciate.

What needs improvement?

The data workflow screen could be improved by increasing its size. Currently, the screen is small, making it difficult to work on larger data workflows since scrolling is required horizontally and vertically.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Unqork for four years.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

Deployment is fairly good overall.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Unqork is stable. I have never found any issues with stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I have never worked on a huge amount of data, so I can't specifically say about scalability. However, I have not encountered any scalability problems.

How are customer service and support?

I don't know about the support team because there is a community to resolve doubts. I never had to connect with the support team as the community was enough to clear my doubts.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Unqork is pretty expensive compared to other tools like UiPath. The certification costs around $2000, which is ten times the price of UiPath. This pricing can be a concern, especially for people in developing countries who may find it difficult to invest in certification without assurance of a job.

What other advice do I have?

If people are from IT, Unqork is easy to use with a bit of practice. However, non-IT people need more time to practice. I rate Unqork between eight to 8.5 out of ten for its stability.

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Allows efficient end-to-end workflow management with flexible coding options

  • March 03, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We use Unqork for dashboard creation and management of customer data. Our projects involve form submissions where the customer fills out forms. Once submitted, these forms go to an approvers' team. Upon approval, requests are sent to banking for confirmation, after which funds are released. This entire process is dependent on the insurance company, creating an end-to-end workflow that begins with an insurance request ID, followed by approvals, banking detail submissions, and sometimes dependencies on Kiribati bank accounts.

How has it helped my organization?

The loading speed is very slow. Page responses are also unsatisfactory; when margins are added and components are shifted left or right, they do not respond properly, causing overflowing issues on the website.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features of Unqork are its operating components, especially the decision components and HTML components. Unqork allows me to write HTML code, use JavaScript, Angular, and React, which significantly enhances its flexibility. Specifically, asynchronous processes, visualizers, secondary fields, and the data and events components stand out. The HTML component's drag-and-drop functionality to include external code is highly appreciated.

What needs improvement?

The table design needs improvement to allow developers to manually change the table's appearance, such as its colors. Challenges arose in the last project when I required each table row to have a different color. Unqork's default does not support this, resulting in me decoding Angular code to include these features. Allowing more flexibility in UI customization would be beneficial.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Unqork for one year.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

The deployment process for Unqork is very efficient. Deploying a module takes about one to two minutes. It involves selecting the module from a dropdown in the backend, which shows all created modules. It's user-friendly and I encountered no issues.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the stability of Unqork at seven. While the system is generally stable, sometimes components can change overnight with no clear explanation. A component's previously set value might be missing the next day, affecting reliability. This instability can disrupt my progress.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I rate the scalability as six or seven. Unqork's ability to adapt depends on the customer's requirements. Not every project can be executed through Unqork as some complex requirements might need proof of concept before proceeding. If Unqork cannot support a requirement, the customer must adjust their expectations.

How are customer service and support?

I would rate Unqork's technical support as nine. They were able to resolve most issues in the past, however, there were instances when support could not solve a problem and suggested raising it to higher management. Overall, they usually help resolve issues effectively.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of Unqork is straightforward and very easy, earning it a ten out of ten. I faced no challenges during the installation process.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Unqork is somewhat expensive. The certification costs are particularly high, around 16,000 Indian Rupees. While some companies cover certification fees for their employees, others do not, making it a considerable expense for individuals. If certification could be priced lower, it would be more affordable.

What other advice do I have?

Overall, I rate Unqork as eight out of ten. I recommend improving the table design to allow more manual customization for developers. For some projects, I faced limitations in fulfilling the customer's requirements within Unqork and had to compromise by working within its constraints.
