Deployment process improves productivity but optimizations are needed in new features

  • April 24, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case for Unqork includes working on projects in various domains. First, it was with ONHS related to the oncology healthcare department. Second, it was with UBS in the financial domain. Third, it involved Guardian Life, an insurance company based in America. Currently, we are working with Grayscale, a platform for digital coins investment like Bitcoin or Ethereum.

What is most valuable?

The deployment process of Unqork is highly valuable. The platform provides features such as grids to easily change the UI without writing extra code. Dynamic grids allow for changes without additional coding. The integration capabilities are also notable, with flexibility in using internal or external services for data storage. Unqork’s stability is commendable, with no bugs reported in the stable version. The DLC toolkit facilitates promoting projects with a single click, enhancing productivity.

What needs improvement?

There are areas in Unqork that need improvement. The ongoing development of the Vega feature, which is built on React compared to the older Century built on AngularJS, should be optimized. Vega promises faster experience, but it's still in progress. Additionally, there are limitations like showing a grid with a tree-like structure that Unqork currently cannot achieve.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Unqork for five years. Although I have a total of eight years in software development, the first three were focused on Node.js.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Unqork is very stable. With the Century version, I have not seen any bugs or instability in the last five years. However, users may encounter instability with the developing Vega feature as it is ongoing. Overall, I would rate the stability as ten out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Unqork's scalability is good, and I would rate it as eight or nine out of ten. Its ease of use, minimal need for extra logic, and good integration capabilities make it significant.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support for Unqork is excellent, receiving a nine out of ten. I receive assurance that the team is addressing my issue within one to two hours, and I'll get a response within two working days.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before Unqork, I worked with the MEAN stack, specifically Angular and Node.js. With Angular and Node.js, extra code was needed to manage data tables and deployment required setting up servers and using version control like Git. In contrast, Unqork simplifies these processes.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of Unqork is straightforward, and I would rate it eight or nine out of ten. Mastering the DWPF and dynamic grids is essential, which simplifies much of the setup. The community is active and responsive, enhancing the overall setup experience.

What other advice do I have?

Unqork has some limitations, so ensure your requirements are assessable before deciding. For new developers, focusing on workflow and data workflow is essential. I rate the overall solution as seven out of ten.

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case for Unqork is a medical, hospital-based application where users can book appointments with providers, schedule or reschedule appointments, check provider availability, and check the distance from the patient's location to the provider's location. It also allows users to book virtual visits, which means appointments can be made for online consultations. These facilities are all available within our system.

What is most valuable?

Unqork has a valuable feature known as dynamic refresh, released last year. This feature improves performance by loading only the required page on demand instead of loading the entire content page. This dynamic refresh significantly enhances performance. Additionally, the integration capabilities are robust, with administrator features like API parameters and TLS security ensuring secure data transfer. Unqork’s seamless upgrade system ensures bug-free production environments.

What needs improvement?

Unqork needs improvement in mobile application support, as competitors offer this feature. Additionally, performance on the no-code platform needs enhancement to match the speed of coding websites, as the initial load time could be optimized.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Unqork for more than three years.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

The deployment process for Unqork is straightforward, as it is a cloud-based application. Configuration is done through their interface, and once published, it automatically deploys to Staging. The process from Staging to QA requires selecting and promoting modules, which is easy via Unqork's interface.

Building workflows with security and ease but facing challenges in complex customization

  • April 08, 2025
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

I work for an organization called Nuveen, an asset management company in financial services. We use Unqork for building a lot of internal workflows, primarily small-scale one-to-two page applications for various uses in our client services, operations, and middle office. Most of the applications are primarily slackers, which means if somebody does something, it goes to a workflow, needs approval, and goes through. We use workflow and case management type applications, and this is what we've been using for the past two years.

What is most valuable?

From a capability point of view, there is very little infrastructure setup required compared to similar SaaS applications. I have built on Salesforce power platform and have experience with other applications, and Unqork is very comparable. Unqork offers two major advantages. It is a single-tenant application versus multi-tenant applications, which makes our security team more comfortable using it for processing confidential data. Additionally, the ease of use, especially in building form-type applications and workflows, is excellent.

What needs improvement?

The drag and drop functionality works well for basic form structures, but customization of complex layouts is challenging. If I have five to ten widgets on a screen and need to customize them, the work involved is substantial. Without proper guidance, one might create a clunky and difficult-to-use system from a developer's perspective. Simple page forms are fine, but more complex layouts could benefit from a layout manager or similar tool. As for architecture changes, Unqork moved from the Sanctuary to Vega platform without providing a migration tool, necessitating manual updates.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Unqork since about 2022, so it has been roughly two years and a couple of months.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

The deployment process is straightforward. Although the initial setup took some effort, building applications and deploying changes is efficient. I have rarely encountered deployment issues, except for minor ones due to configuration errors or change control problems.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The platform has been reasonably stable, with availability issues only occurring twice due to underlying AWS infrastructure problems. From the stability point of view, I would rate it a nine.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I rate the scalability a seven. We increased the volumes, and over two years, I only encountered an issue once when there was some slow movement due to misconfigured elements.

How are customer service and support?

The support and service from Unqork have been very good. We have premium support as part of our organization's licensing, and I have almost never had an issue where I needed to escalate due to inadequate support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have built applications on Salesforce power platform and have experience with other applications.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was a bit involved, but once we started building applications, the deployment process became straightforward.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Unqork is expensive compared to other platforms we use, which are of different scales. Pricing is custom, depending on the type of organization. However, I would say the solution offers good value for money due to its capabilities.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend Unqork but advise potential users to evaluate their needs carefully. It is ideal for building single-page applications that scale independently. However, it should not replace analytical tools. Identify the right use cases and utilize it effectively. Overall, I would rate Unqork a six due to the fact they haven’t yet built tools for architecture changes, requiring manual updates.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Facilitates fast UI development with minimal effort and quick turnaround while offering seamless environment transitions

  • April 08, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I brought Unqork into my organization primarily as a self-service tool or as a tool for allowing developers and operations teams to build quick UIs. A lot of our client experiences, self-service experiences, form applications, and similar applications are built on the Unqork platform.

What is most valuable?

The feature of being able to stand a UI with minimal effort and a very quick turnaround is valuable. It allows for easy editing and rapid release to the higher environment without much hassle of processes. The tool does not require heavy management of infrastructure like servers. It is well packaged and sleek, enabling fast changes. The velocity with which I can convert a POC into an implementation or even come up with a POC or an idea is much faster with Unqork.

What needs improvement?

Unqork is not an extremely mature solution. Many things that I worked with them on were functionally basic but missing from the platform. The product lacks the maturity of a more established product, like Appian, which is more of an industry standard. Some basic functionalities were missing, such as version control, which was only introduced recently. There is some degree of inconvenience and maneuverability issues. The product is not an ideal choice for all of a big organization’s tools.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Unqork for more than almost four years, around three and a half to four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

There have been no significant stability issues where the entire platform went down. However, as a SaaS platform, they release enhancements regularly, which can occasionally disrupt existing functionalities. This is a general issue with SaaS providers and not unique to Unqork. Despite this, I would still rate the stability of the solution highly.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable, largely dependent on how the SaaS environment is sized and the contract. I have never encountered an issue with scalability in our setup.

How are customer service and support?

The support is good with decent coverage. It is a paid service, and the level of support corresponds to what I pay for. They are decent and responsive, but the prioritization of requests could improve. The support team's quality can vary, with some resources more efficient than others. Overall, I would rate the service around eight or nine.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

I do not need to handle the initial setup as they offer SaaS offerings, which include multi-tenant deployment. This means there is no need for complex initial setups from the user's end.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I can negotiate good deals with Unqork. While it is difficult to compare value propositions directly, I do not consider it overpriced. In my experience, it seemed somewhat underpriced, possibly due to being an early adopter. Overall, it is reasonably priced in its competitive segment.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I am very intimately familiar with the cost pricing of Appian.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend Unqork but emphasize setting clear expectations on what it can accomplish. It is not a silver bullet for all UI automation needs. I need to be sure about my use cases before using Unqork, as not everything UI-related can be done with it. Overall, I would rate Unqork an eight.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

No-code capabilities save time but learning resources and collaboration need improvement

  • April 02, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use Unqork as a no-code platform to create various types of websites based on user requirements. For example, I can use it for developing solutions for insurance, banking-related issues, transaction-related matters, and claim-related matters. This allows me to easily develop what I need without writing extensive code.

What is most valuable?

In Unqork, I don't have to write long codes. The drag-and-drop feature allows me to create forms with components like text fields and email components easily. I can set up validation for email and phone numbers to ensure correctness. Additionally, Unqork allows direct API integration, whether internal or external, facilitating easier development compared to other technologies. It also promotes the use of module-based applications and workflow options, which aids in application scalability and stability.

What needs improvement?

Unqork needs to improve its learning resources because there aren't many available on platforms like YouTube or Google. Furthermore, troubleshooting is an area for improvement as errors should be visible directly in the code platform rather than just the web browser console. Collaboration needs enhancement since, currently, multiple developers cannot work simultaneously on the same functionality.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Unqork since last September.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

The initial setup with Unqork is straightforward. I need to create a workspace, and within that, create an application by defining its type, such as content-based or API-based. Depending on the selection, the corresponding UI options are provided, and it takes only two to three minutes for the setup.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The main issue I have with Unqork is the limited availability of learning resources. While other technologies have various resources available, Unqork mainly relies on its community hub and learning platforms.

How are customer service and support?

Unqork provides tech support and community support. I can raise tickets, and Unqork will respond and provide solutions accordingly.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have worked with both Mendix and Unqork. In comparison, Unqork is a no-code platform, while Mendix allows coding by the user. Collaboration and functionalities differ significantly between both platforms.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward and involves creating a workspace where I create the application by specifying its type. If the application is module-based, specific details about what is to be done in that module are required. The entire setup hardly takes two to three minutes.

What was our ROI?

Time-saving is a substantial benefit, as I can develop applications with multiple functionalities in just a few days.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I am not aware of the pricing, but I know that the certification cost is around $200, which is valid for one year.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend Unqork because of its time-saving capabilities and ease of use. However, Unqork should enhance its collaboration features, as currently, only one developer can work on a functionality at a time. Unqork could work on improving this aspect. Overall, I rate Unqork a six out of ten.

Time efficiency and streamlined development with enhanced deployment and support

  • April 02, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

Initially, I underwent Bootcamp training with Unqork, which involved completing simple use cases such as adding information on a screen and validating it based on user input. In my organizational project, I worked on a client project called Evidence of Insurance, a life and disability insurance project with multiple screens and validations. I've also contributed to a similar project with New York Life Insurance, focusing on functionalities like getting appropriate state and country details, and deploying the code to QA regions. My experience also includes working on data workflow, internal services, and creating rules using Unqork.

What is most valuable?

Unqork allows for time efficiency with minimal coding due to its drag-and-drop functionality, enabling us to expedite the creation of pages compared to other technologies like Java and .NET. Additionally, Unqork supports snippets, including built-in options available in its marketplace, which helps to streamline the development process further. Snippets are a particularly effective feature, allowing recurring entries like SSN or phone numbers to be easily managed. The ease of deployment across regions and the presence of a responsive support system further add to its value.

What needs improvement?

The timeout issue during server-side execution, specifically with loops, needs improvement. More features could be added to the data workflow, and there should also be enhancements in internal services, including updates and deletions.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have around two years of experience with Unqork.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

When they updated from the classic version to a new runtime version, it was challenging to adapt since the visual aspects and settings of data workflow changed.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Occasionally, during server-side execution with multiple loops, we encounter timeout issues, which is something we've had to address with technical support.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It appears to be scalable with frequent updates and technical improvements, and it is anticipated to be even more scalable in the future.

How are customer service and support?

I would rate Unqork's technical support as an eight. They are responsive to queries and issues.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

Setting up Unqork is straightforward with readily available resources like Unqork academy, training environment, and community for support. It provides ample documentation and video tutorials to guide new users.

What was our ROI?

Our team has managed to complete projects well ahead of client expectations, garnering positive feedback and extensions. Client satisfaction has resulted in increased project value.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have started learning OutSystems but do not have enough expertise to compare it with Unqork effectively.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend Unqork for those wanting to start their careers, particularly in sectors like insurance and banking. Unqork is frequently updated, offering opportunities with larger companies as it gains popularity. I would rate Unqork as a nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Roles and plugin features enable efficient data management and API interactions

  • March 07, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I have used Unqork for projects where I built multiple screens featuring both read-only and dynamic grids. I have also applied different roles to manage grid views for different personas. Additionally, I use Unqork for various purposes including creating web applications.

What is most valuable?

The plugin feature is the most valuable as it allows me to easily create APIs to interact with databases using plugins. The roles feature, specifically the rollback capability, is also valuable for controlling data visibility. Unqork's capabilities to easily send emails and create PDFs are additional features I appreciate.

What needs improvement?

The data workflow screen could be improved by increasing its size. Currently, the screen is small, making it difficult to work on larger data workflows since scrolling is required horizontally and vertically.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Unqork for four years.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

Deployment is fairly good overall.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Unqork is stable. I have never found any issues with stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I have never worked on a huge amount of data, so I can't specifically say about scalability. However, I have not encountered any scalability problems.

How are customer service and support?

I don't know about the support team because there is a community to resolve doubts. I never had to connect with the support team as the community was enough to clear my doubts.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Unqork is pretty expensive compared to other tools like UiPath. The certification costs around $2000, which is ten times the price of UiPath. This pricing can be a concern, especially for people in developing countries who may find it difficult to invest in certification without assurance of a job.

What other advice do I have?

If people are from IT, Unqork is easy to use with a bit of practice. However, non-IT people need more time to practice. I rate Unqork between eight to 8.5 out of ten for its stability.

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Allows efficient end-to-end workflow management with flexible coding options

  • March 03, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We use Unqork for dashboard creation and management of customer data. Our projects involve form submissions where the customer fills out forms. Once submitted, these forms go to an approvers' team. Upon approval, requests are sent to banking for confirmation, after which funds are released. This entire process is dependent on the insurance company, creating an end-to-end workflow that begins with an insurance request ID, followed by approvals, banking detail submissions, and sometimes dependencies on Kiribati bank accounts.

How has it helped my organization?

The loading speed is very slow. Page responses are also unsatisfactory; when margins are added and components are shifted left or right, they do not respond properly, causing overflowing issues on the website.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features of Unqork are its operating components, especially the decision components and HTML components. Unqork allows me to write HTML code, use JavaScript, Angular, and React, which significantly enhances its flexibility. Specifically, asynchronous processes, visualizers, secondary fields, and the data and events components stand out. The HTML component's drag-and-drop functionality to include external code is highly appreciated.

What needs improvement?

The table design needs improvement to allow developers to manually change the table's appearance, such as its colors. Challenges arose in the last project when I required each table row to have a different color. Unqork's default does not support this, resulting in me decoding Angular code to include these features. Allowing more flexibility in UI customization would be beneficial.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Unqork for one year.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

The deployment process for Unqork is very efficient. Deploying a module takes about one to two minutes. It involves selecting the module from a dropdown in the backend, which shows all created modules. It's user-friendly and I encountered no issues.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the stability of Unqork at seven. While the system is generally stable, sometimes components can change overnight with no clear explanation. A component's previously set value might be missing the next day, affecting reliability. This instability can disrupt my progress.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I rate the scalability as six or seven. Unqork's ability to adapt depends on the customer's requirements. Not every project can be executed through Unqork as some complex requirements might need proof of concept before proceeding. If Unqork cannot support a requirement, the customer must adjust their expectations.

How are customer service and support?

I would rate Unqork's technical support as nine. They were able to resolve most issues in the past, however, there were instances when support could not solve a problem and suggested raising it to higher management. Overall, they usually help resolve issues effectively.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of Unqork is straightforward and very easy, earning it a ten out of ten. I faced no challenges during the installation process.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Unqork is somewhat expensive. The certification costs are particularly high, around 16,000 Indian Rupees. While some companies cover certification fees for their employees, others do not, making it a considerable expense for individuals. If certification could be priced lower, it would be more affordable.

What other advice do I have?

Overall, I rate Unqork as eight out of ten. I recommend improving the table design to allow more manual customization for developers. For some projects, I faced limitations in fulfilling the customer's requirements within Unqork and had to compromise by working within its constraints.
