    Kuanysh B.

One of the best NoSQL databases on the market

  • February 15, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Fast database with minimal lags and strong data processing and recognition capabilities, especially for structured data sets. Well-resourced and supported to train up new users relatively seamlessly and efficiently. Customer support team is incredibly responsive and always quite helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's somewhat less useful for less- or un-structured data sets and requires more hand-holding and micromanagement
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has sped up the internal data analytics of corporate customer queries - resulting in faster and more targeted response and services to the end users

Checking usability for chemical engineering

  • February 15, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We need lots of columns to keep our elements and composites and don't have really different types of info that could be separated in different tables. We only use 3 and they are actually independent, so a wide column db looks very promising.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't know. Haven't find any yet, but I am just trying it (free version)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lots of columns and need of speed to search

I was evaluating ScyllaDB as a substitution for the RedisDB on the highly sharded cluster

  • February 15, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
That Scylla provides low latency because of the nature how it organises the shards and cores
What do you dislike about the product?
ScyllaDB seems has quite good st of features
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Most benefit from my perspective is the 1 digit latency

Very Strong DB for large applications, but comes with some challenge

  • February 14, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the pure strength, advanced functionality and the "reimagined" way that this system was built.
What do you dislike about the product?
It isn't immediately obvious how to get started or how to build the things you need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using it as our Primary DB to store form information which come in massive JSON objects.

Using ScyllaDB

  • July 25, 2023

What do you like best about the product?
1. modern DB
2. scalability inbuild
3. suitable for distributed systems
4. No-SQL type is suitable for dynamic schema
5. very fast compared to other DB
6. opensource so it could be used in business
What do you dislike about the product?
1. significantly less documentation
2. no good source for video tutorials to get an understanding of the DB
3. not many written articles available as a tutorial
4. very less information on StackOverflow or other Q&A websites
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I tried some DB options for distributed systems, which are NoSQL type. so DB systems are DynamoDB ,Cassandra , Mongo and ScyllaDB . ScyllaDB is really good and also open source. but due to very few tutorials and videos available, its tough to understand how to proceed. Still I tried , and it was a good experience

Scylla DB quickly became my favourite NoSQL DB

  • July 25, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The DynamoDB compatible API! Being a serverless advocate I've used DynamoDB heavily in the past. When the requirement came along for an on premise option, ScyllaDB allowed for seamless integration with existing code and architectures.
What do you dislike about the product?
Outside of the usual painpoints and adoptions for new DB's, I can't say there is anything specific I dislike about ScyllaDB that can't also be said about other DB technologies!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A fast and efficient NoSQL DB that allows for on premise Single table design DB's (Key overloading) allowing for a single backend codebase written originally for DynamoDB
