DropBox integration has made it a universal tool for file sharing and management

  • July 16, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
DropBox has a consistent look and feel across all clients: Windows, Mac, web, tablet, mobile. In the past few quarters (as least that's when I took full notice) DropBox added in more and more integrations to SaaS packages I was already using. That makes it even more convenient and compelling to use as a cloud-based storage area for MindMaps, audio and video working files, audio and video published files, and documents I need to share outside of my company. It's easy and reliable!
What do you dislike about the product?
While the versioning and version management is quite robust and intuitive, it's only available via the web client. With a full-featured Windows client, I'd like to be able to manage that from my PC.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SECURE ease of collaboration across email domains/clients/consultants.
Benefits are ease of management, ease of incorporation of multiple DropBox accounts.
Convenient and ubiquitous storage that is natively integrated into many of the software packages I already use.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sign up for a personal account (app performance is the same) and share some files with folks inside and outside your company. Save/resave some documents. Go to the web client and see how easy it is to return to a previous version of a file.
Install the Windows client on 2-3-4 PCs and see how easy it is to keep all of your PCs up-to-date. No more taking your laptop home (if you don't want to).

Solid software that you can depend on

  • July 03, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to save files to dropbox. I also really enjoy the fact that I can access the files in the car while im travelling between sites. The best part about is how reliable it is.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how many popups I get from it on my computer. Its like everyday, its reminding me to do something or that im running out of space. Even after I turned notifications off, it keeps insisting on reminding me of something I already know.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its easier to transfer files to colleagues. I can just 'drop' it in the dropbox and they can view it, download it or whatever else they need to do with it. I can also store family photos and share them with others at the drop of a hat.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dont use dropbox if you are the type of person who really dislikes adware on your computer. If you are using it on your mobile though, its not all that bad.

All of our Files Are Put on Here

  • May 03, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
If you have an administrator that has the access, you are able to put as many files as you want. Believe me, my job uses dropbox for EVERYTHING
What do you dislike about the product?
Unless you are the administrator of the dropbox, it is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with someone at the Dropbox Inc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is easier to file share with dropbox. If you share a link, instead of flooding email or a group chat with the same graphic (with multiple variations), you can just update the link.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely use dropbox if you have so many files and you don't want to take up space in your computer.

Hands down one of the best cloud based storage provider

  • May 01, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox gives you an intuitive interface to store all your important files in. Changes are very easily tracked and files can be shared with others in an instant. Dropbox is a solid option for individuals with modest or even moderate storage requirements who need easy file synchronization and sharing capabilities across multiple devices with ease of integration. Users with larger storage needs or those requiring advanced features may upgrade to one of Dropbox's paid plans for a even higher featureset.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing bad about Dropbox but I guess they could offer more storage for free customers but at the same time I cannot really complain about that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cloud based storage
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it. Store all important information on the cloud so it may be accessed from anywhere.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Accessibility from anywhere you are with any computer with easy and security,
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't dislike this product at all. It is well made and easy to use & it is easy to learn.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can have all my files with me where ever I go & store all new files I receive as easily.
I can reach my files e\any where I am & work from any location, isn't that great.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start with the free storage space & purchase more when you need it.

Well organized, quick and collaborative

  • August 02, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
really like how you an get a copy link to send out to people, that makes sending on stuff through email super easy because i don't have to share some seperate email, i can just hyperlink the link provided. I think you also get a good amount of space for your money on the business account.
What do you dislike about the product?
the organization system could use some improvements, better subfolder systems.

my biggest pet peeve is the low quality preview on videos, i send a lot of videos to clients and they think the low grade preview is how the final looks, would rather there be no preview at all over the low grade preview it currently has
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I run a design and video business and use it to share both raw files from shooters as well as final files to clients. Its great that it has a video previewer (though the stream quality is bad)
and I ts pretty much the only way I can get like 100GB of files over from someone over the internet.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
definitley get it, but if you work in video maybe consider explaining that previews are not full quality

A top class storage solution

  • July 20, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Its multi-device capability. I can use it from my computer/phone/tablet and will have a seamless experience. Also, it syncs in the background without any manual activities. For example, I have Dropbox in my office laptop and personal computer. I can just work on the same file in both locations, and the changes will be seamlessly flowing from one to another. This is amazing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Size restrictions. At least for photos they can provide an unlimited solution (like Google Photos does)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Ability to upload files easily
2. Being able to comment on a file and start a conversation
3. Easy one-click sharing with colleagues/ customers
4. Carrying work when we are offline
5. Being able to search for any file anywhere quickly
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are accessing your business data from multiple devices, this is a very good solution. You will be able to see its value when you install the app in multiple places. For example, being able to share a document with a single click from phone is an amazing feature.

Dropbox also provides a collaboration feature with which you can comment on others' documents and start the conversation.

I love the "Share" option too. You can share an entire folder with another Dropbox user. At this moment it is not possible to control what they can do on this folder, but I assume this capability will be provided in the future.

The Freelancer's/Remote Worker's Best Friend

  • November 06, 2014
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox offers some really great features - I can send a link to a file on the service to anyone who isn't on the service; I can share folders and data with select people; and I get plenty of space. (There's the requisite get-free-space-to-have-your-friends-sign-on, but even at a rock bottom $10 month for 100 GB, there's still plenty of value to Dropbox).
What do you dislike about the product?
My only major dislike is that, if I am removed from a folder, I do not get a note saying, "You are no longer connected to this folder" - one assignment ended abruptly, and I had some notes and work in process that should have been kept with me. However, this is a minor quibble - all in all, I really enjoy Dropbox.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Much of my work involves sharing large folders and files, whether it's business/marketing information or (as my sideline) scans and proofing copies of pulp reissues. Dropbox allows me to work remote at any venue - I use the web version, but the Android app on my tablet works wonderfully as well. I'm finding myself better able to meet deadlines and craft marketing copy that more closely resembles what my client is seeking....and in the end, it fosters collaboration.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dropbox's interface is clean - very clean, and can be somewhat misleading. I would also consider that, although you can acquire more space through referrals, paying the $10 a month for a basic account is *definitely* worth it.
