Easy to use for powerful analysis

  • November 19, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Autocapture, event visualizer, speed at which data appears in the UI
What do you dislike about the product?
Not enough attribution options, not enough visualization options for charts/dashboards
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
How users interact with certain pages/features, conversion rates of users between events with long lead time, changes in behavior over time
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It’s easy to get started with Heap and easy to use for digital analytics

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of using the platform, I love that I an quickly access information
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing! The platform is very user friendly and helpful
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using Heap to pull reports. I have, again, liked how easy it is to use
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use this product! It is excellent!!

Great for quick analyses

  • November 19, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to build funnels and graphs quickly allows you to analyze dropoff at each step of the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is unclear where some of the heap generated data is coming from, requiring time to dig in to understand an analysis.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Largest problem is ad hoc analysis for dropoff through the product

Easy to use - great account management support

  • November 19, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to set up, generate reports, do funnel analysis
What do you dislike about the product?
Inconsistencies can exist if you have too many users in it - it's important that you have a key manager who approves event setups etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Drop off in our funnels, conversion rates off of multiple CTAs
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely useful for further analytics past what GA offers, great support, great for mobile + app analytics.

Very helpful to find UX painpoints

  • November 19, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I think the analysis views are easy to navigate and provide great insights. Specifically, I think the funnel and paths reports are a lot more helpful than their Google Analytics counterparts.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial set up was a bit confusing, but the Heap team did a good job helping us understand how to use the different features. Initial set up is also time consuming is there is a lot on your website you want to track.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are still in the testing phase, so we have been using Heap to help find UX issues in our sales funnel. We were able to determine an issue in our new sales funnel with Canadian users based on how they interacted with different elements on the page.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a compliment to Google Analytics, but it is important to have a strategy to merge the two set of data. Using both will give you a complete picture of customer journey - both from an attribution standpoint and an engagement standpoint.

Game changer

  • November 19, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to define events on the fly, and instantly have retroactive data from the moment we dropped it in. User and segment-level analytics. Reporting and filtering controls are amazing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Price. It's spendy, but worth it. A little bit more power in defining events would be helpful for tricky situations like using 3rd party plugins, but what Heap provides in terms of identifiers, class names, etc. covers 95% of use cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding user behavior patterns in our product. This has allowed us to make data-informed decisions of where to invest, where to cut features, and overall measure the health of our product.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If tracking analytics events is ingrained into your dev culture for every feature/change you ship, then you might not need Heap and other tools will provide the same benefits. But, if you don't yet know what you want to track, or you want to be able to understand your users' behavior on-the-fly, Heap is a true game changer. Drop it in the first MVP you ship, and you'll have data going forward - whether you know the events up front or not.

Excellent

  • November 18, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Heap is incredibly useful for immediately testing the success of a product and understanding how customers interact with new features.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not discovered any real downsides to Heap. Sometimes the process of verifying an event is fairly laborious, but it's worth it to ensure that all of your events are representing the action you believe they are.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Heap, we're able to immediately see how users are interacting with new features, as soon as we launch. With much of our team not knowing SQL, Heap provides an easy tool to define an event and see what percentage of users are firing that event, so we know how much they are engaging with a recently launched product.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I truly do recommend Heap, especially for a less data-advanced product team who want to take responsibility for the success or failure of their product launches.

    Computer Software

Heap is a useful tool for getting information on how your users are interacting with your software

  • November 18, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to pin reports to dashboards. It's convenient to have the interactive dashboards (where figures appear on hovering over the chart) when presenting insights.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was complex to set up Heap. We have a huge amount of somewhat duplicate events and reports as different people have been creating events without knowing what they are doing. What would really help here is having the ability to visualise the feature that the event or report refers to, i.e. having screenshots in the notes or some way to refer the event to a screenshot of your product. You do need to have a certain level of training before you can use Heap properly. I have done the certification and am still not 100% sure if I am doing everything right.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap is helping to determine which features of our app need to be updated or even redesigned. Being able to see usage, interactions, retention, funnels and paths have helped with this. It has given us the basis in which to work for change on our product.

    Arts and Crafts

Solid analytics engine that could use a bit of UI work

  • November 17, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility of analysis and visualizations
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI is confusing in places, and there are some reports that look similar, but serve different purposes. It's hard to know when to use each.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking general site health, understanding trends over time, and following the impact of marketing promotions. Heap reports make it easy to set up tracking and then revisit once we have enough data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look over the reports in detail before setting them up to track key metrics. There are different kinds of reports that seem very similar, and you'll want to know immediately upon data becoming available which report suits your use case most precisely.

    Apparel & Fashion

Easy to use tool for tracking customer behavior

  • November 17, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Auto-capture of events and the Live View
What do you dislike about the product?
The filters don't persist as I would like
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reports of bugs that are actually user error. Understanding how folks are interacting with our app. Proving hypotheses regarding divergence from intended user path.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
