A valid alternative to GA and Mixpanel
What do you like best about the product?
I used Heap after years using Mixpanel and GA. I appreciate Heaps' clean interface and the rendering of charts. While it shouldn't be the primary factor, I think it does help to have a visually pleasant experience when opening charts and dashboards daily. The ability to setup custom metrics on the go it's obviously a great plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
The experience of setting up custom properties isn't always simple. To test our the custom properties I had to open two tabs because for some reason I wasn't really accompanied during the console setup. I felt I had to tinker a bit with that. Other than that, I understand the feature it's a pretty complex one and I trust the team to improve the experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pretty much all the questions we have about the usage of our product can be solved via Heap. We are able to utilize one single product without having to scramble with other data sources. Pretty much all of our Product Analytics have migrated to Heap over time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Watch the many tutorials online and get familiar with the product. After years of using GA and Mixpanel, it was very easy for me to migrate.
Excellent Analytics Tool for Anyone
What do you like best about the product?
I can get very granular in terms of the purchase funnel by any category or SKU level to really understand what is working and where our opportunities lie
What do you dislike about the product?
It is complicated to figure out all of the functionality, but the user guides are very hepful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Where our customers are falling off and certain parts of the funnel where people get stuck.

What do you like best about the product?
It's straightforward for you to see the user journey in Heap for both individual users and aggregated groups. And it helps us pinpoint how we could improve our UI/UX and provide a better customer experience on our website.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of any at this moment. Support was very responsive and helpful as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly user journey/pinpoint frictions, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly recommended. Easy to build customized dashboards based on your needs and helps you better visualize your user journey.
Heap Saves Time
What do you like best about the product?
I love the amazing interface and how easy it is to run queries. It is incredibly easy to start analysis on any collected metrics - basically trivial to spin something up.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that merging events is a little difficult. It is not intuitive to combine events that have been collected at different times. This should be a bit more accessible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Figuring out user paths and dropoff points.
Poor data integration has led to lack of value; features nice in theory but oversold
What do you like best about the product?
The ongoing sync between Salesforce/Marketo has been helpful for evaluating A/B tests
What do you dislike about the product?
We don't feel like the reporting is reliable due to poor data integration, paired with a big learning curve has meant very little usage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We tried to understand the buying experience better and assist with attribution, as well as understanding user behavior for A/B testing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be skeptical of what can be practically achieved with Heap, perhaps temper expectations by a fair bit and consider what incremental value you will truly get from a product like Google Analytics.
Great tool for tracking user behavior across multiple projects and platforms
What do you like best about the product?
I'm new to product analytics (just filling in while we hire someone) and have been pleasantly surprised by how easy Heap has been to figure out. Really appreciate how easy it is to integrate with our data warehouse for more involved analyses that includes non-heap data, while also having the native reporting options for lighter-weight analyses. Some of the new features that have been rolled out recently are super helpful, in particular -- the pathing + "most common steps" in between two events are some of my favorite analyses tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
The event tagging is a little difficult with some of our implementations -- we have gated applications that we need to tag and haven't been able to find a way around the gate when using the event visualizer. Tagging events is still doable, but MUCH harder.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding user flows on our storefront -- which filters are commonly utilized and in which order to help us make better merchandising decisions.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of creating dashboards, adding new items to dashboards
What do you dislike about the product?
UI initially is a little tough, takes some time to get used to
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Product usage on the UI. Great metrics into clicks, pageviews, workflows, etc.
Excellent self-service analytics and insights tool
What do you like best about the product?
Every single event is tracked and categorized; very simple for any team member (marketing, engineering, operations, etc.) to gain valuable insights from the tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
The product requires a bit of prerequisite knowledge, which is easily attainable via Heap Unversity or from a Customer Success partner.

Funnel optimization, customer pain-points, unexpected behavior or site interactions

Amount of filtering that can be done on the dashboards, and the personalization of what I only need to see

The best part is auto-capture and using the live view mode.

Lack of different types of custom events. The event visualizer I think could use some work.
