Anaplan for Strategical Planning, Forecasting and Budgeting
What do you like best about the product?
1)ADO(Anaplan Data Orchestrator) seamless integration with different systems with very minimal develpoers effort and replacing the data HUB model. 2)Workflow helps to manage the process with time to time notifications/alerts. 3)New user experience is the game changer with management reporting. 4) Community user helps to get clarifications regarding the platform. 5) Introduction of Hyper model architecture to plan with huge data volumes at the most granular level.
What do you dislike about the product?
1)Few commonly used formulas in excel are not available, but we can implement workarounds to get the results. 2) Performance issues when dealing with complex logic with huge data volumes. 3) Developer experience and NUX still have scope to improve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan is a cloud-based multidimensional and in-memory calculation engine that will help in many business planning and budgeting. It is entirely customized and easy to maintain.

Anaplan is a great way to improve productivity and collaboration.
What do you like best about the product?
Going from Excel or comparable models to Anaplan really improves the functionality and consistency of data, models, and reports. Having the data centralized so that all users see the same information and having a tool that is easy for end users to adapt to provides incredible value almost instantly.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Anaplan is flexible and can provide many upgrades over outdated methods like Excel based models or even comparable tools, it does require a bit of know-how for the end users to develop models themselves. On the other hand, it is something that can be learned easier than other tools or complex coding methods and over time can be entirely self-managed by end users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Even basic lift and shift scenarios of moving existing models into Anaplan solves issues such as single cell formula issues, having multiple files or sources of truth bouncing around the organization at any given time, and the improved security and auditing features help keep data secure.
Anaplan provides scalable models whilst also being flexible
What do you like best about the product?
It can calculate many millions of cells, way beyond what Excel can do. It is built in a very intuitive way, with no need to understand code or database structure. The only thing that takes some time to learn before you can build really impactful models is dimensionality, which many new modellers won't have, coming from an excel background.

What do you dislike about the product?
If you arent careful with how you combine dimensions, you can run out of workspace. Sometimes you need to create concatenated hierrachies which only contain valid combinations of hierarchy items to save workspace
The reporting could be better, its not up to BI tool level of appearance, however it has improved a long way in the 7 years that I've been using it

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Model complex scenarios in investment funds, where the timings and amounts of investments and exits can quickly be flexed, showing the sensitivity of the fund
Controlling user inputs, so that once they are signed off by an approver, they cannot be changed, keeping the plan stable and under control during review and analysis

Excellent platform for FP&A
What do you like best about the product?
Multiple use cases; easy for new starters to learn the platform, doesn't require any coding experience; can create colourful and engaging dashboards very quickly; excellent support and community pages
What do you dislike about the product?
There are still a couple of bugs in the new App

There are multiple use cases: FP&A, Supply Chain, and Financial Consolidation. I have worked with property and construction, education, insurance, banking, and retail clients.

What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan is a blank canvas with a powerful calculation engine and a friendly visualisation layer. So you can model almost any business process in your own way and share it with your colleagues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited options when it comes to native data integration, workflow and notifications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allows bringing together in the same platform data that used to be scattered across teams: Workforce planning (in terms of headcount and ftes, budgeting, compensation), FInancial modelling (what-if scenarios), Financial consolidation across entities and many others, without compromising on usability.

What do you dislike about the product?
1)Anaplan modelling has size restrictions which sometimes makes it very difficult to create reports by intersecting multiple dimensionality.
2)Anaplan should provide better starter models for some of the most common use cases so that the implementation does not require creating everything from scratch.
3)Anaplan should provide some built in algorithms to make the platform more relevant for Supply Chain Planning use cases.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan has a very intuitive UX which allows significant end user adoption as the functionalities are very straightforward to use. The Platform provides the flexibility to model any business use case and all the functionalities can be implemented in a very agile manner. The Platform can be used to build applications related to FP&A , Sales Planning and Supply Chain planning use cases. On top of the business modelling capabilities , the tool also provides embedded AI/ML capabilities that can be leveraged for a wide variety of use cases. The Tool can be seamlessly integrated with other third-party systems with various integration options available.

Licence cost and types (which is probably new to me not sure how other companies operate)

Having one source of the truth, by having multiple data sources and points, Anaplan makes it easier to consolidate all markets and report results efficently

Anaplan is a very good tool that helps to design/build models with great flexibility to solve business problems. Its powerful integration helps to bring the data from multiple sources and interactive dashboards to attain real-time results.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan helps the Sales Planning team eliminate the manual Excel files for actual/forecast data for multiple geographies. Also, we can see the real-time data in no-time. It helped to stream-line the process by reducing the planning cycle times. Anaplan definitely makes our Sales Ops user's life easier.
Agility and flexibility in modeling and connected planning
What do you like best about the product?
The speed with which a user can create complex models and calculations is unmatched. The ability to assign selective access and row-level security allows a model to confidently be shared to a wide user base without compromising security. Anaplan also has a robust user community that is full of support and is responsive to requests for help.
What do you dislike about the product?
There can be a steep learning curve to model building, as new modelers learn what it means to implement best practices and think through building a model in a way that takes advantage of Anaplan's multi-dimensionality and parallel processing abilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan allows our business to aggregate disparate data sources in a single environment, create new metrics, and present that to end users for feedback and input to drive better, more data-driven decision making. Having in-house Master Anaplanners also allows our business to have resources that are technically savvy AND can understand that nuances of our business, which creates an environment where we are able to continually iterate on our tools and solutions.
