Anaplan Connected Planning Experience in Supply Chain
What do you like best about the product?
Seamless real time data flows across different use cases which enables to take good decision because of the connected planning topology.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to dislike about the Anaplan tool.

By anaplan the excel sheets used for planning have been eliminated, and has helped

What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan is an extremely powerful tool that helps organizations break down once siloed/fragmented business functions, streamlining their planning processes and leading to real-time insights that help drive business goals. The platform's flexibility and ability to be customized to specific requirements make the platform suitable for multiple use cases and not tailed to only solve one business need.
What do you dislike about the product?
Anaplan's flexibility can also lead to downsides should the organization not correctly capture requirements that align with the business process they are trying to enable. As Anaplan can be configured in multiple ways, without the proper planning & SI the platform can be configured in ways that may lead to performance issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan helps enable connected planning within an organization, breaking down once siloed functions and leading to faster, more accurate insights that help align tops down (corporate goals) to bottoms up (field planning).

What do you dislike about the product?
Here are the downsides of Anaplan:
- Workspace capacity constraints
- Limitation to combining the hierarchies to manage the sparsity which results in the application not being user friendly

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan is solving complex business problems. It gives the capability to perform scenario planning/sensitivity analysis with the critical business drivers that could have a significant impact on the business in uncertain times. It gives management powerful insights for making the right decisions at the right time. This is one platform that orchestrates all the functions in the organization.
Anaplan platform gives an ability to connect data/people/processes across different functions in the organisation giving ability to analyze the business performance effectively & drive better outsomes.

Having the ability to quickly and easily mix data from many sources
Creating complex scenarios and what-if scenarios

The classic dashboard looks like it's from the 80s, but the new UX has too many restrictions.
There is no function to auto-complete the formulas

The biggest problem that Anaplan should solve is not to upcharge its customers.

Flexibility, Scalability and User friendly

Nothing but a few technical limitations.

Fast and agile Development without the typical overhead of 1st party solutions.
What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan has allowed our team to quickly build drivers, upload templates, P&Ls and consolidated reporting in an incredible agile environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
Anaplan does not have the ability to have branching code (think excel model with a point-in-time copy), so if I create 10 models that are 90% similar metadata structures, but have 10% differences I would have accumulated a fair amount of technical debt in that I need to make changes in 10 different places.

Finance planning and trying to move planning to the cloud as opposed to offline spreadsheets

What do you like best about the product?
In general, Anaplan is an excellent tool for planning and analytics. It is flexible enough to model different business requirements and functionalities. It could be owned by business and thus reduce dependency of IT when business logics change frequently.
What do you dislike about the product?
However, the product still has areas to improve on. For example, workflow has been discussed and requested by a lot customers for many years, but it is "on the roadmap."
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Anaplan across Finance, HR, Sales, etc. and across multiple regions. Our legacy systems were mostly in silos and/or offline which makes it very challenging to have a consistent view at one place for planning. Anaplan provides a platform as one-place to go for planning and analytics, improving planning efficiency.
Anaplan for Strategical Planning, Forecasting and Budgeting
What do you like best about the product?
1)ADO(Anaplan Data Orchestrator) seamless integration with different systems with very minimal develpoers effort and replacing the data HUB model. 2)Workflow helps to manage the process with time to time notifications/alerts. 3)New user experience is the game changer with management reporting. 4) Community user helps to get clarifications regarding the platform. 5) Introduction of Hyper model architecture to plan with huge data volumes at the most granular level.
What do you dislike about the product?
1)Few commonly used formulas in excel are not available, but we can implement workarounds to get the results. 2) Performance issues when dealing with complex logic with huge data volumes. 3) Developer experience and NUX still have scope to improve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan is a cloud-based multidimensional and in-memory calculation engine that will help in many business planning and budgeting. It is entirely customized and easy to maintain.
