Anaplan Budget Planning
What do you like best about the product?
1. With Anaplan we are able to implement various use cases across departments. This shows that Anaplan allows for a great flexibility to meet diverse requirements.
2. Growing your Anaplan environment brings substantial economies of scale, where every next project needs less time spent on data integrations, because it is likely that you already have the needed transactional data or hierarchies.
3. Anaplan improves data accuracy as it offers a single source of truth, compared to having excel files spread across countries and these excel files often having multiple versions of the "_finalv3" type.

1. Big models often struggle with performance issues. This leads to more resources being spent on trying to improve performance rather than working improving the model functionality and user experience.
2. Sometimes the interface would have limitations that might look small, but can really make data readability more difficult.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having our budgeting process in Anaplan offers a standardized approach across the company and the countries it operates in.
This makes the important KPIs consistent and minimizes the risk of different interpretations from country to country.
Additionally, it is a more efficient process and less prone to mistakes associated with excel files versions etc.

What do you like best about the product?
low code no code tool, easy of business users to utilise and adopt, Ease of data integration, Predictive forecasting capability on the same platform.

Resolution (pixel) of the output on the UX.

Connecting the end-to-end business planning across the value chain. So that businesses have a bottom-up forecast from all areas of the business.
Powerful, Flexible & Scalable Platform which requires Reporting Improvements
What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan is extremely flexible in solutioning, provides a great stream-lined connection between calculations and reporting, and is highly auditable.

What do you dislike about the product?
Anaplan's Reporting Suite has vastly improved over the last year, however when compared to reporting centric systems such as Tableau, still leaves much to be desired. Specifically, the Management Reporting suite needs work to become an operable alternative to standard reporting methods.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan is a great tool for consolidating complex, offline processes (namely excel) and putting together under one roof, which has been a primary benefit. Anaplan's user logs also provide detailed audit trails.

Anaplan provides great planning solutions to users. With the new UX, reporting has been improved. Also, the new modeling experience made navigation and formula writing easier. The app hub helps drive the solutions because of its wide variety of use case collections. Anaplan's connected Planning solution is helping companies drive their crucial business decisions across various platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
Workflow automation is something that Anaplan can work on. Extensive documentation on the various Integrations available will help the developers. New UX still has some bugs, fixing them can enhance the user experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan helps in dynamic decision making. They can change the numbers and see the live impact of their financial statements. The snapshotting functionality helps the businesses compare their data to the previous cycles.
Scalable, flexible and easy to build
What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan makes multi-dimensional modeling easy with its flexibility and scalability. Doing modeling is easy without extensive development skills. It is cloud-based, the app can be built in a mobile-friendly manner supporting planning on-the-go.
What do you dislike about the product?
Anaplan cannot generate a timestamp on its own, which can be useful in a number of business requirements. But there are alternative solutions to it and it is on the roadmap.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan is solving our organisations territory account alignments, and we use it to generate audit reports. We also calculate indexes on territory performance. Also we assign reps to territories and give them different roles. We have metrics on on wich the sales rep derives the quota, so we track the entire sales cycle on Anaplan

What do you like best about the product?
One of the key features of Anaplan is its accessibility. With a cloud-based platform, all you need is a browser and internet connection. Also, the anaplan community is really open to user ideas, making the platform improve in many ways.
What do you dislike about the product?
It usually requires more space when dealing with a large quantity of data. But with the new Anaplan Polaris technology, I hope it can help resolve to deal with such big data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem with sparsity, Anaplan is addressing this with the Anaplan Polaris technology and I am really excited to try it to our models and see what it can do.

End to end S&OP in an industry that doesn't fit into the classical S&OP mold.
Anaplan: Industry-leading connected planning platform to meet today's modern business challenges
What do you like best about the product?
Most of my engagements on Anaplan have been around financial planning with very large and complex data sets. Anaplan's ability to allow you to slice, dice and join data to calculate forecasts is something I haven't seen on any other platform at this scale.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main issue I have only applies to using the Polaris engine. In Polaris, there are functions and formulas that are unavailable that are otherwise available in the standard Anaplan platform. This requires the users to think through their build and construct the model in a way that avoids these issues. Additionally, when developing in Polaris, extra care needs to be taken to ensure proper syntax as the "toaster" can take longer than in a standard Anaplan model to clear when an error is made. In general, I would recommend customers weight the pros and cons of Polaris and work with an experienced Imiplementation Partner. This should help ensure a smooth decision-making process, model build and model rollout.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In previous engagement, we used Anaplan to create both Current Quarter and Long-Term Forecasts for Orders, Revenue and Margin for a large Telecom company. We had to bring together over 30 data sets in order to do this, meaning that Anaplan was being used to slice, dice and join those data sets to allow us to forecast. This data included Salesforce data, Oracle data, contract data, transit time data and numerous others. I can't even count how many spreadsheets and manual processes we replaced with that model. Prior to that I build short and long-term forecasting models for large financial firms, primarily in the mortgage servicing industry. In my current engagement we are working to implement Anaplan to build a truly "connected planning" environment with a top healthcare firm by bringing together the planning functions of multiple divisions and replacing dozens of spreadsheets and outdated processes with Anaplan models.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the most about Anaplan is the customization capability and ease of development and usage. You can build anything and everything using your imagination and modeling skill sets. Anaplan has transformed the way connected planning solutions are thought through and developed.
Anaplan always keeps up with new features and requirements needed to keep the tool most up to date... new functionalities like Polaris engine, Workflow, DMS are a testimony to that fact.

What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it feels an overkill that certain functionalities are unavailable in Anaplan, and everything has to be developed through a custom code. Things like Delta functionality, more robust auditing capabilities, drill-through capabilities, and model locking are some of the things which come to mind.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
From a developer perspective, Anaplan provides endless possibilities to offer solutions to the client per outlined requirements. It's the next-gen EPM solution to cater to all the different use cases and Business areas in the organization.
