A truly connected planning tool
What do you like best about the product?
Connectedness of the tool, multi-dimensionality, real-time data, flexibility and fast calculation engine
What do you dislike about the product?
Rollback and concurrency, not a lot really
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monthly rolling forecast of Sales, OpEx, Capex and production of main financial statements, and performance reporting

Forecasting software that tries to make it easy
What do you like best about the product?
The fact you can have big teams adding individual information about their own forecasting numbers, and the sofware tries to maintain the informarion organized. Anaplan provides charts and tables.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not intuituive. If you have plenty of products, when adding information on the table, you do not see the name of that row (because you went down, but the name of the row is not frozen). The user interface needs to improve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan helps to know how many units you will need in a specific period of time (it can be a month, quarter, or couple of years). It helps to evaluate how many units (or bill of materials) the company will need in a certain amount of time.
Extremely Versatile Connected Planning Platform
What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan is a great connected planning platform and extremely versatile. The versatility allows Anaplan to be used for such a wide variety of use cases - it can even be used as the project planning software (sprint tracking, user story review, etc.) for implementation for other use cases! The upside of building a connected planning platform on Anaplan is hat you can have all of your data in one place, connected in the same platform "language" which makes analysis and insights much easier to execute across an organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
Anaplan still has some downsides when it comes to dashboarding; however, it has come a LONG way. The downsides are when you are trying to pull multiple dimensions together on a report; these are some limitations that will hopefully be resolved in future releases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
You name it. Anaplan is so versatile that it can literally solve almost ANY business problem - and can be a platform your project planning or a quick game of connect four at that!

What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan is a great platform to facilitate a standardized process is repeated over time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Anaplan is not a platform to use for one-off, one-time calculations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan is solving the problem of having siloed models that work with others to solve a standardized process.
Good solution for excel models that have to be robust, complex and correct
What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan is a web-based combination between excel and a database. Easy for the user to navigate through data (pivoting is great) and web interface and reporting is good. An excel add-in is very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Have to have an experienced model builder on staff to make changes or even more minor adjustments. Not seamless in integrating with other finance software. More expensive than excel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using Anaplan for P&L reporting, cost allocation, forecasting and budgeting. Customizable software great for when you have particular case/usage. Works with hierarchies well, so when there is a change (like with a reorg) it is flexible to get the model back online and working.

What do you like best about the product?
I like Anaplan's planning and modeling features, intelligent engine, user experience, extensibility and scalability. Anaplan connects people, data and plans like no other with their unified cloud platform. New features and functionalities are incorporated into the platform on a frequent basis which enhance the product's value proposition and usability significantly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Auditability of line items can be enhanced by adding extra features like saved views references, filter references, UX page references etc. Ability to natively view the size consumed by a line item (not just cell count) can greatly help with size impact analysis. Detailed error logging and scheduler accuracy can be improved in Cloudworks. Native support for allowing input/breakback and calculation logic in the same line item can be added to further boost platform adoption in Retail Planning use cases.

Anaplan's versatility is one of its key differentiators. Using Anaplan, comprehensive planning solutions that facilitate quick decision-making can be built for all critical functions - Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, HR and Workforce, Marketing etc. As a partner, this enables me to implement best-in-class solutions for our customers and their planning needs.

Standardization sometimes forces organizations to be less flexible than they originally wanted

Anaplan addresses the challenge of fragmented and disconnected planning processes within organizations by providing a cloud-based platform that unifies data, people, and plans. It enables seamless collaboration, facilitates dynamic modeling for various planning activities, and offers real-time insights, thereby solving the problem of inefficiency and lack of coordination in business planning. Anaplan's flexibility, scalability, and integration capabilities empower businesses to make informed decisions and adapt to changing circumstances effectively.
Very Agile Comprehensive Tool
What do you like best about the product?
The versatility of Anaplan. It can be used for just about any use case. Fast and easy to make board level reports. Anaplan continues to make updates improving the overall experience from an end user and builder perspective.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you are going to do multiple use cases or complex use cases I would recommend having an anaplanner on staff after the build is complete.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows for planning to be taken out of excel sheets and put into one shared space that updates automatically and having a single source of truth.
The best native cloud enterprise planning platform!
What do you like best about the product?
Intuative low-code platform that allows end users to build any excel based model at scale
What do you dislike about the product?
Data integrations need some work. Lacks ability to do on-the-fly data transformation
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan solves single source of truth issues that plague most organizations that are stuck in excel
Anaplan continues to be the best enterprise planning platform out there
What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan is the best tool I have come across for enterprise -level modeling and planning. It allows you to be as flexible as you need while also providing the structure needed to scale.
What do you dislike about the product?
Reporting is and always has been Anaplan's biggest weakness. While you do have many options, it is by no means perfect and lacks a lot of flexibility. However, setting up your calculated data to be exported to other reporting systems is very easy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am an implementation parter for Anaplan, so I get to see it solve many problems for many different use cases across all of the customers I work with. After each implementation, most customers save a large amount of time on model maintenance compared to their prior excel models. There is also a lot less room for human error in an Anaplan model due to its structure and cloud based real time engine.
