Effortless cost management with automated instance adjustment and helpful support
What is our primary use case?
We predominantly use Zesty to manage our spend in AWS, specifically around reserving instances for our compute workload. Our workload is dynamic, and it would be cumbersome and difficult for us to maintain and manage the reserved instance profiles ourselves. We leverage Zesty to programmatically adjust our reserved instance purchases and sell off RI contracts as they are no longer needed.
How has it helped my organization?
Zesty reduces our monthly bill. On average, between 85% and 95% percent of our environment is covered by some form of reserved instance, and each of these agreements reduces the spend by 30% to 35% percent. This results in a material impact on the bill and allows us to allocate savings to other areas.
What is most valuable?
The turnkey aspect of Zesty is very valuable. I set it up, spend around 15 minutes granting access, and from there, it operates automatically. Zesty manages the workload, and their pricing is structured in a way that incentivizes them to save us more money.
What needs improvement?
There are different resource types that we would like to leverage and get reserved instances for, such as RDS instances. Currently, no mechanism within Zesty allows this, but this may be due to AWS limitations. Another point is that Zesty needs to react to any changes AWS makes, but they have been proactive in their communication regarding material impacts.
For how long have I used the solution?
It's probably been about five years since I began using Zesty, back when they were Cloudvisor.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I have never had any issues or experienced a bug. Occasionally, I might need help understanding the UI to ensure I'm interpreting the data correctly, however, my customer care representative is always there to help. I've never experienced stability or outage issues.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I would rate scalability a ten out of ten. The necessary scaling is transparent to me, and I don't observe any issues.
How are customer service and support?
The customer support has been great. There has been some turnover due to turmoil in Israel, where Zesty is headquartered. However, they transition well across account representatives. In the few instances I've needed support, they have been available despite the time zone difference.
How would you rate customer service and support?
How was the initial setup?
The setup is straightforward. They walk you through the process, and it's as simple as copying and pasting into the AWS console. Once it's set up, you're done.
What was our ROI?
We see a return on investment every month.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Their pricing is brilliant. It is a percentage of what they save us by using reserved instances. If they save us $25,000, they might charge five percent of that, which is work we wouldn't do on our own. It's a no-brainer.
What other advice do I have?
I advise that while it may seem like managing reserved instances is something you can do on your own unless you are extremely disciplined, you won't achieve the same consistency and regularity as Zesty would. Not using Zesty leaves money on the table.
I'd rate the solution ten out of ten.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a growing company and the costs in AWS are increasing exponentionally. Zesty is helping as to save as much money as we can in EC2 AWS.
Zesty helped us manage the entire instance reservation process allowing us to focus on other areas
What do you like best about the product?
The automation and peace of mind of delegating that responsibility for reservations to Zesty is fabulous, we were able to greatly optimize our reservation spending.I n less than a year we managed to reduce the monthly cost by 3000 USD on average, having recurring meetings with Zesty helps us understand the status and evolution of the reservations as well as define new workloads and start with additional reservations from day zero.

I have not experienced any isses with the use of Zesty or support of their other equipment
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Zesty helps us be sure of the reservation amounts that our workloads need, as well as reservation opportunities and control the number of instances running in our infrastructure
A great tool to cut down on extra AWS costs!
What do you like best about the product?
The support team and onboarding team were phenomenal when we first started using Zesty, getting signed up and brought on was a breeze. Continued support has been very good and they have been very forthcoming with any information we requested. We make use of Zesty's dashboards pretty regularly as well and also make good use of the metrics they provide us directly. Getting this integrated into our AWS accounts was also a breeze. Cost savings are very good with this platform and nothing needs to be done after onboarding is complete, it's set and forget.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their dashboards could use a bit more work, providing more granular views, maybe even breaking down resources that could be totally removed. Perhaps an expansion on the tool to provide something relevant to Kubernetes cost cutting would be nice too like some competitors have.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have an excess of EC2 instances that we don't cover with our own savings plans or reserved instances and Zesty has helped a lot to manage that excess cost and reduce it by a very good amount. It's helping us cut down on costs we'd otherwise be losing money on.
Zesty is great for saving AWS costs
What do you like best about the product?
Zesty allows you to save 50% on your EC2 instance costs with almost no input required from you. The onboarding and set up process took us about 1 hour in total and requires no further input to start saving. Zesty will also keep you up to date with your savings with regular review meetings and their dashboard makes everything very easy to view and understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far we have we have had no issues with Zesty and therefore no dislikes
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Zesty helps us reduce our EC2 instance costs by over 50%.
Effortless Cloud Commitment Management with Zesty
What do you like best about the product?
Zesty automates and manages our RI/CRI/SP commitments on AWS. What stands out the most is the ease with which we can oversee all our cloud commitments without the need to manage them in-house. Zesty’s app provides a great overview, detailing our coverage split by RI/CRI/SP, coverage levels etc. which allows us to easily track and optimise our cloud spend. Additionally, their Slack support is very responsive and gives us valuable advice that helps us make informed decisions.
What do you dislike about the product?
At this point, there's nothing negative to mention about the product and service. Zesty has met all our expectations by streamlining our cloud commitments and offering outstanding support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Zesty solves our need to automate management of cloud commitments. By taking over the automation of our RIs, CRIs, and SPs management, Zesty allows our team to redirect focus to our core operations. Their platform provides clear visibility into our cloud commitments and costs/savings, which helps us prevent under/overutilisation. This not only saves us valuable time but also cuts down on costs, streamlining our approach to cloud infrastructure management.
