What do you like best about the product?
easy to understand, if you love CLI you would like anyways GUI is also there. the ease of learning commands and using them like sed and awk commands for filtering.
What do you dislike about the product?
if an entry of filesystem in fstab is there and physically that disk is removed there raises an issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
server related issues (support-oriented)

Hats off to RedHat!

What do you like best about the product?
The package quality, support, maintenance and updates, all give it the premium appeal that a linux distro deserves!
What do you dislike about the product?
It's too expensive for its features. This is definitely not meant for amateur use. You need well experienced in-house team alongside vendor support for it to work out well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The kind of quality and support that it has made me realize the importance it could have in managing my storage. So all my NFS drives are mounted and controlled over RHEL and it's been 2 years since I've been using it and I feel the decision was right indeed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's one of the most robust linux distribution you'll come across. May go a little over budget, but reliability is guaranteed. Go for it! Good luck!

What do you like best about the product?
The one thing I like the most about Redhat is its premium packages and subscription.
What do you dislike about the product?
Subscription is quite costly compared to similar distros like SUSE.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My company's active directory services are run over RedHat Enterprise Linux. It offers good support, updates and maintenance which is a must!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a reliable linux distribution with plenty of support and features and can afford all of it, then RHEL is the product for you!

The most stable OS for servers

  • August 29, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We use RHEL for most of our servers and private cloud. It's the most stable OS out there for professionals.
Updates are easy to do with no downtime and support is knowledgeable and ready to help.
What do you dislike about the product?
People with no *unix experience might have a hard time getting the hang of things some experience is required. A support contract is not cheap.
Not all software has a RHEL version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use RHEL daily for all different kind of servers. It works flawlessly on our virtualization platform we can get a working, stable RHEL server in minutes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out for free, play around with it. Do a lot of tests before going live with it.

Very easy and effective

What do you like best about the product?
I like the versatility of the system, especially how yum has improved greatly upon RPM.
What do you dislike about the product?
The yum package manager is still clumsier than apt, and theres not much fundamentally different from Fedora.

Message parsing and database system backends.

What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike is how extremely picky Linux can be. I love Linux, but case sensitivity with files and paths can get annoying.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for our vulnerability scanner. It runs extremely fast!

Best operating system to run applications

  • July 31, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Security at its best. We are using Red Hat Enterprise Linux on our physical database servers and virtual application servers. Our infrastructure supports an ERP solution. We have a couple of choices based on what the ERP supports, and we decided to use Red Hat Enterprise Linux to host our database, applications, and backup infrastructure. Red Hat Enterprise Linux is quite affordable and very well suited for enterprise solutions. Plenty of online resources are available if you ever run into issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Other linux distros have greatly improved user experience and GUI, I think RHEL mostly prefers terminal over GUI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Resolving production server issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Its the best secured operating system to host applications in internet.
