MongoDB Atlas- A multi-cloud database service

  • December 19, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is effortless to use. The documentation and tutorial are on point and help users get started even if they have a basic idea about cloud database deployment. The interface is very good and very intuitive. It also provides a CLI which users like me prefer over the UI. One more feature I like is the fantastic backup facility they have. I can continue from the point I left even if my system shuts down in between. It has customizable features that help me organize my projects in different orgs according to my wishes. It also has support for Kubernetes and AWS which are additional good features. The storage compression is good and does not take up much space.
What do you dislike about the product?
Clusters shared with other users do not seem to work as efficiently as single-user clusters. There is a time lag and collaboration features are not that effective. I cannot use it if I have too much querying.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MongoDB Atlas lets me manage my MongoDB databases on the cloud. It's efficient segmentation of different projects helps to manage them well. I usually work on MERN stack projects, which require an extensive use of MongoDB. Atlas helps me manage all my projects, and all the clusters in a single project. It's easier to be integrated and can be used in CLI.

What do you dislike about the product?
I think it might be a bit tricky to learn for beginners. Otherwise it is really good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MongoDB Atlas is like a safe home for our data so we don't have to worry about it on our system. It makes things easy and secure and that's a big help for me in handling data professionally.

The NoSQL Database Built for Flexibility

  • December 16, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
MongoDB Atlas is fantastic! It is a scalable, adaptable NoSQL database that gives you the freedom to store data as you want, scales easily, and is secure everywhere. It's also just expensive for what you use. Well worth looking into!
What do you dislike about the product?
Although MongoDB Atlas excels in terms of scalability and versatility, it is not without flaws. Despite its strength, the document model may require some familiarity with relational databases. Furthermore, compared to certain SQL solutions, its pay-per-use model might grow expensive for high workloads.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MongoDB Atlas addresses the limitations of conventional databases by releasing you from constrictive schemas and allowing you to store data in adaptable documents that resemble JSON. This easily manages rich, unstructured data and adjusts to your changing demands. Additionally, Atlas scales smoothly in the cloud, allowing it to grow with your app without requiring complicated hardware updates or downtime. Users everywhere are guaranteed persistent access and resilience to disasters thanks to its high availability and global reach. This ultimately helps me by enabling faster access to larger datasets and more precise processing. It also translates to agility, increased performance, and peace of mind.

It is a secure cloud-based application for creating and managing databases.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the MongoDB Atlas UI and the ease with which I can generate API keys and configure the connection between my node.js backend and my MongoDB Nosql database. By allowing MongoDB to store data from your web applications in the cloud, MongoDB Atlas will do it for you and follow up with you, so you don't have to worry about clusters or servers and manage data-intensive applications, I love how easy it is now, you can scale up or down as needed
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't anything to hate with MongoDB Atlas, except that collections aren't automatically updated
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We primarily utilize the MongoDB NoSQL database to store data for my MERN stack-based application, we picked MongoDB because we wanted to work with a flexible and dynamic database, which NoSQL databases provide, we also use MongoDB to construct MERN Stack apps. MongoDB Atlas allows us to store data in NoSQL form, which is significantly faster than storing it in a SQL table, we also appreciate being able to interface with our database in the cloud using the Mongoose module.
