Fast, Great Support and Team!
What do you like best about the product?
They purge very fast. The VCL editing makes complicated origin routing possible. Support responds fast, Slack for enterprise is great. The CDN hasn't failed us serving over 3 Billion requests per month.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their APIs to not support all services (shared/SAN TLS). Their TLS options are expensive and do not scale down to SMB well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CDN services and reduced load to our origin server.
Great experience; helpful/responsive support & sales
What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility of the product has allowed us to quickly build and release new functionality on our platform. Platform TLS and image optimization have both been awesome and valuable to us. Sales and support team have been great to work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to report. Aside from the fact that this survey won't let me submit until I type enough text in this box...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a consumer/UGC platform that lets non-technical people "remix" interactive content to share on social media (things like games, interactive selfies, interactive advertisements, etc.). These remixes are actually full-stack web apps running on their own domains. We serve this content through Fastly.
Everything I want in a platform
What do you like best about the product?
Fastly's service has been wonderful. It's fast, reliable, and flexible. They've been a wonderful partner for us over the years.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their WAF product initially seemed a little like an afterthought/me too approach. I haven't evaluated it in some time though so this may have improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use their CDN, image optimization, and TLS platform that allows us to upload custom certificates for thousands of custom domains. The service has been extremely stable and has performed admirably.
Fastly is a great partner
What do you like best about the product?
The features that Fastly provides makes us able to deliver a quicker experience across our Web and mobile platforms. Their support is responsive and helpful when issues come up or when we want to implement new features.
What do you dislike about the product?
Have not had any issues so far that have not been resolved by the account team or the support team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're an image rich website, so being able to provide high resolution images quickly is a huge part of the business. Fastly has been able to improve web page load times by caching the images cross their network.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Seriously Consider Fastly over other services.
Great CDN for worldwide video serving over 50TB/mo
What do you like best about the product?
Extremely well built dashboard and control suite.
What do you dislike about the product?
At lower bandwidth tiers there are more price competitive options. Pricing is favorable in US/EU but much less so in other regions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Despite the higher prices in non-EU/US regions, the level of service is better. This allows us to test offer a higher level of services in new markets.
Exceptional technical customer support
What do you like best about the product?
I have been very pleased with the depth of knowledge that Fastly's technical customer support has consistently and efficiently provided solutions and suggestions for some complex custom VCL scenarios. Also it's been super easy to get in there and make some quick VCL adjustments as our needs for A/B testing and the launch of a new site evolve.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really don't have a whole lot to say here. It's been great. I think it would be cool if there was a way to compare VCL configurations between different services, like we have separate dev, stage, and prod configurations. It would also be nice if the custom VCL snippets could be deployed from one service to another like a pipeline workflow instead of copy/pasting VCL snippets to each service manually. That may be possible through Fastly's API and I just haven't seen the light yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're A/B testing traffic between our old site and our new site in a phased roll out, where certain functionality is not yet ready for production traffic on the new site so we send specific requests to the old site always. It's been really quick and easy to adjust the VCL logic as newer functionality becomes ready for QA and deployment on the new site.
A powerful and extremely flexible CDN
What do you like best about the product?
The platform reliability and developer experiences are fantastic. The platform’s speed in handling cache invalidations really sets it apart and allowed us to deploy it in scenarios where other CDNs have failed.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve for some of the advanced setups was steep, but the Fastly team was happy to assist.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Serving content that can change rapidly and needs to be updated quickly when it does change.
Next Generation Content Delivery Network
What do you like best about the product?
Fastly is fast, feature-rich, and developer-friendly. Our experience using Fastly to deliver live-linear video streaming channels has been excellent because they are rock-solid and easy-to use. A key to their success is due to treating customers as partners rather than just another account. The competition cannot offer the same portfolio of products and level of service.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have very detailed level needs of custom reporting/analytics requirements that isn't easily achievable with Fastly's platform. However, most of the real-time and historical data made available makes reporting sufficiently easy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Fastly for delivering linear channels over the cloud for over-the-top distribution. The results have been seamless, reliable, and high performing.
Good value for image transformations
What do you like best about the product?
Complete and simple to use image transformation engine that is a LOT less expensive than other image transforming services.

What do you dislike about the product?
Having to learn a new language to interact with a CDN was a little frustrating but the docs and support was awesome, so not really a dislike since it resulted in about the same amount of setup time as expected.

The Fastly edge is easy to adopt while being highly customizable.
What do you like best about the product?
We love the breadth of challenges we can solve with the Fastly capabilities. It's amazing how often Fastly has come to the rescue for issues we didn't initially consider the CDN layer for.
What do you dislike about the product?
There really is not anything to dislike.
