Experience with Databricks
What do you like best about the product?
The usability and the ability to allow so many differs users to access data from 1 platform
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing that I can't think of at this point in time
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralised data access. Different user personas on the same place
Holistic, E2E, and Intuitive
What do you like best about the product?
A one stop place for holistic teams - engineers, data scientists, architects, and administrators - to collaborate and have transparent visibility to our data, access, and insights
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a learning curve with the syntax, interface, and jargon. Need to ensure all personas and stakeholders are onboarding and adopting at a concerted pace and sequence in order to make adoption work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data access and lineage visibility; EDA, Analysis, and visualization all in one place. More productive and confident in the data I am working with.
Data Scientist
What do you like best about the product?
The SQL workspace has improved a lot and many of the new features are very applicable to data analytic work. The machine learning module from MLflow provides a great pipeline framework for data scientist.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setting up the work environment is still challenging. Some of the UI component can be improved, for example, I don't really like the way how the directories are displayed on the platform now because often time I cannot see the full name of the folder or files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need cloud compute to complete some of the ML and statistical model training, which is one of the major reasons we are migrating to Databricks. The way how big data is handled and managed is the key to our company success.
future of the warehouse
What do you like best about the product?
purquet format and its very flexible compare thotraditional data warehouse
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a bit learning curve to get used to it. Its harder to connect the dots.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
less moving the data meaning less pipelines and less errors
I learned about lots of new features and it was really fun
What do you like best about the product?
It includes the functionality of traditional data warehouse.
What do you dislike about the product?
I cannot think of any downsides. It checks all the boxes for what I am looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides a one-stop shop for structured and unstructured data and, at the same time, gives users traditional RDBMS capabilities
It is a great solution to centralized your enterprise data collection and build application on top.

It's great
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using jupyter notebooks to run models on databricks and I haven't explored everything else.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't explored everything yet so I don't have anything specific in mind.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps run machine learning models on large scale. I'm benefiting the most from parallel processing.
I have 6 months of experience in using databricks products

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We migrate our existing big data pipeline from AWS EWR to lakehouse and get rid of the dependency on the gluecontext, which is performing really well when running on the Lakehouse platform.
Great platform for our company needs!
What do you like best about the product?
It's helpful with ingesting different data from various sources. Helps to have all workflows centralized!
What do you dislike about the product?
There's still a learning curve if you're someone new, like myself.

It solved what SQL could not handle, the constant need for continuous data ingestion.
Ease of use for EDA and modeling with room for efficiency to improve
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to work with and create derived EDA
What do you dislike about the product?
Version control integration, cluster management/failures, DBR migrations
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
