What do you like best about the product?
It makes moving files securily in multiple ways effortless. Its easy to setup. With the training and video it is easy to get going. With the templates provided in the project tools, it becomes a joy to push on with more challenging scenarios. Lastly customer support is available when you truly get stuck and they reply shortly after you post.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is little to dislike but if I was to pick one it would be with the lack of examples I was looking for in the community forums for the exact task I was trying to undertake.

GoAnywhere do have a very responsive customer support so you can always use that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing and automating all our file transfers from a single source and done securely.

What do you like best about the product?
The fact that it can be cloud based, has cloud connectors to share files, you can also have agents installed on different machines to interact with eachother for easy file transfers.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the Cloud connector for Google would do is be able to transfer multiple files at once.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The use of Cloud connector is great because we use the Gsuite products. Also the ability to fine tune projects with a variety of tasks libraries. It saves time for managing manually the processes.

GoAnywhere MFT Great tool and easy to make automations

  • July 31, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and upgrade application as a whole. Able to cluster so production will have a failsafe in case a server that hosts the application goes down. It is easy to set up workflows, but you need to be organized and have a good idea of the steps necessary to get from point A to point B. Customer Support is great once you open a ticket you can wait for an email response or if urgent able to call the support line and refer to the ticket.

Our company uses it daily and when a failure happens we have alerts so we can respond to them as needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
workflows can be complex since you design them from scratch. They do offer templates but wish they offered more training as most was learn on the fly or trail by error.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
automation of pushing and pulling files via SFTP/FTP or network shares.

Very Satisfied with Go Anywhere

  • July 31, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Go Anyhwere is a very robust MFT application that is easy so learn, implement and use. The User Guide is well thought out and inclusive in most areas. The "hover over " feature is awesome to help identify what most field options/requirements are.

We have over 150 MFTs occurring nearly 24x7.
What do you dislike about the product?
The LDAP Login Method should allow you to narrow the Base DN so the entire directory structure does not need to be queried.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before we implemented Go Anywhere all of our file transfers were done writing batch jobs which was difficult to read and document. This made it incredibly difficult to support, troubleshoot and share/transfer knowledge. Go Anywhere's Administrative console is very well organized and easy to use. It almost documents itself due to its layout and functionality.

Improved productivity through automation from the source to the destination

  • July 02, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We use GoAnywhere to filter files for our clients and set up SOP connections. Our clients are primarily large corporations, and we have around 10 specialists working with GoAnywhere.

How has it helped my organization?

GoAnywhere has improved productivity through automation from the source to the destination. It has improved build time because the files are transferred to them immediately.

We use the agents for other branches of our client. It's crucial that the agents enable us to extend MFT automation to remote systems because the agent is like a mini-GoAnywhere. The solution has saved time connecting securely with third parties that we need to collaborate with, especially our clients. We're dealing with SaaS, so it helped us secure our files and the cloud files being tested.

What is most valuable?

The best feature of GoAnywhere is that transfers are straightforward if there are no other requirements from the source and destination. It doesn't require much maintenance.

What needs improvement?

The reporting could be more customizable.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used Fortra's GoAnywhere for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate GoAnywhere 10 out of 10 for stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

GoAnywhere can scale up to the enterprise level.

How are customer service and support?

I rate Fortra support nine out of 10. I'm very satisfied with the customer support. They can accommodate us when we need their help.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We had another product before we switched to Fortra. Their customer support couldn't answer our technician's questions fast enough, whereas Fortra gave us the answer we needed in a timely manner.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Fortra GoAnywhere 10 out of 10. I would recommend GoAnywhere, depending on a company's needs. It's appropriate for enterprises who want to securely transfer files from service to service.

GoAnywhere Managed File Transfer Solution

  • May 30, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
GA MFT is very helpful specially in automation of moving of our Client's files. Besides being an automation tool, GA MFT is very easy to administer and provides security using the most latest file transfer protocols. High maintenance programming is not an issue anymore because of GA MFT's Project Workflow with drag and drop Tasks. In addition to it, Technical Courses of the solution is free to access.
What do you dislike about the product?
In my honest opinion, GA MFT 10/10 but I understand that nothing is made perfect. I think GA MFT will be much greater if there will be a specific template of Project Workflow that will tackle each of the Tasks available in its Component Library. On the other hand, if price can still be considered for it to be more affordable though the features of GA MFT really worth its price.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GA MFT is currently solving our client's file transfer automation needs including the encryption and securing the moving of files with industry's file transfer protocols. It benefit each of our client's with the easy scheduling of the automated file transfer at the same time having the security of hacking and data snooping.

The user-friendly web interface has transformed this process, allowing me to easily delegate tasks and finally share the responsibility

  • May 03, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

While Fortra's GoAnywhere MFT offers features like secure email and file sharing, we primarily use it for its core functionality: secure file transfers. Our focus is on building automated jobs to manipulate and securely transfer files, and GoAnywhere effectively meets that need.

How has it helped my organization?

Before GoAnywhere MFT, I relied on manually written bash scripts on a Linux server to handle file transfers, creating a workload I couldn't share due to being the only Linux expert. GoAnywhere's user-friendly web interface has transformed this process, allowing me to easily delegate tasks and finally share the responsibility.

GoAnywhere has been instrumental in our secure data transfers with third parties, streamlining the process and saving us an estimated 40 hours per month. It eliminates the need for troubleshooting and writing custom scripts, making it an efficient and reliable solution.

What is most valuable?

GoAnywhere stands out for its user-friendly project creation, intuitive testing and troubleshooting, and especially its notification system, which keeps me informed of any issues that need attention, a feature we lacked before.

What needs improvement?

My only technical difficulty has been finding certificates nearing expiration. While this suggests room for improvement in certificate management, it's more likely I just need to consult the documentation.

Upgrading was a challenge and I ran into some problems along the way.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Fortra's GoAnywhere MFT for eight months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The only challenge I encountered with GoAnywhere was occasionally needing to increase the allocated Java memory. The software itself prompted me to do this when it started running low on resources. Luckily, my server had plenty of memory available, so I simply doubled or tripled the allocation. This was a straightforward configuration change and didn't seem to impact performance at all. GoAnywhere warned of potential slowdowns if I didn't address the memory issue, but I haven't experienced any performance problems myself.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

GoAnywhere has proven to be very scalable. I've been able to seamlessly add at least ten new connections since implementing it, demonstrating its ability to handle increased workloads.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support is great. They provide quality responses.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We migrated from Linux and shell scripts to GoAnywhere for this task because the previous approach, while functional, lacked efficiency and user-friendliness.

How was the initial setup?

The initial deployment was straightforward. I completed the deployment on my own.

What about the implementation team?

The implementation was completed in-house.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

GoAnywhere's price is justified by its features and the time it saves me. In other words, the value I get from the software makes the cost worthwhile.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

After considering a few other options, GoAnywhere stood out due to positive reviews. A sales demo solidified my decision - it was significantly better than the competition.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Fortra's GoAnywhere MFT ten out of ten.

We evaluated GoAnywhere MFT's gateway feature, which adds security by placing a secure gateway at the network perimeter. However, since 90 percent of our connections already utilize a VPN, which offers its own encryption and security, we opted not to implement it. Similarly, we haven't invested in the secure forms functionality as we haven't identified a need for it.

GoAnywhere MFT itself requires minimal maintenance, only needing one patch upgrade so far. Additionally, while occasional Windows updates and server restarts are necessary, they are significantly easier to manage compared to maintaining and patching a Linux system.

GoAnywhere MFT stood out among the products we reviewed - it offered superior functionality at a surprisingly affordable price. Compared to other options, GoAnywhere felt like a clear winner in terms of both value and capability.

I recommend attending the demonstrations offered by the sales and presales engineering teams. They are product experts and are happy to provide hands-on demos where you can build a sample workflow. These sessions are very informative, and similar follow-up calls after purchase are also valuable. They can help you avoid unnecessary steps and ensure you're using GoAnywhere MFT to its full potential.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises
