Document extraction, structured and unstructured AI, case management solution.

Better

  • April 29, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the quarterly updates and improvements in general. It's much different than other IDEs but I'm getting used to it. I like the way they've toned down the "low code" blurbs sprinkled into their tutorials.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't come across citizen development or a need to use "low code" or "drag and drop" strategies (as a developer) more than 3% of the time. As an ancient developer, I'm uncomfortable about how much db work (table creation, relationships) delegated to the app when we depend on database access and support from other teams for integrations. These are small things, and I get why Appian would include them for their core audience (or the audience they want). Some congratulatory tone still in some training.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing tools for inputting, processing, and reporting on customer data. AI is helping streamline these

What I like most about Appian is that it was built from a developers perspective. I also appreciate the constant innovation of the platform and the community they've built around it.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not a dislike, but by nature of the platform, you're limited in what access you have to hardware on mobile devices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Appian has helped us streamline and automat backend processes. This in turn has allows us to collect data needed to increase efficiency and improve business decisions.
