PRTG offers reliable network monitoring and helpful alerts for managing IT systems
What do you like best about the product?
One of the things I like best about Paessler PRTG is its user-friendly and intuitive interface. The dashboard provides clear, real-time visualizations and allows me to quickly identify issues across the entire network. Setting up sensors is straightforward, and the wide variety of sensor options makes it easy to monitor nearly any device or service. I also appreciate the highly customizable alerting system, which ensures I’m immediately notified of any potential problems. Additionally, PRTG’s scalability means it works equally well for small environments and large, distributed networks. The consistent updates and strong community support further enhance the overall experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Paessler PRTG is a powerful and versatile monitoring tool, the licensing model based on the number of sensors can become expensive as the network grows, making it less cost-effective for larger environments. Occasionally, the web interface can feel sluggish when managing a large number of sensors, and customizing dashboards beyond the basics requires more effort than expected. Despite these drawbacks, PRTG remains a strong choice for many monitoring needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Paessler PRTG helps me quickly detect network issues, prevent downtime, and monitor system performance in real time, which saves time and keeps my IT environment running smoothly

What do you like best about the product?
PRTG is very easy to use, with a straightforward interface for almost everything.
What do you dislike about the product?
PRTG offers a Linux probe option, but it requires additional components (like the NATS server) to connect to the core server, and its sensor options are limited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PRTG's customization is impressive, letting us group servers by location or subcompany. This makes monitoring easy to understand, even for those unfamiliar with the system
Reliable Network Monitoring for Growing Infrastructures
What do you like best about the product?
Out-of-the-box monitoring capabilities combined with an intuitive interface, powerful customizable alerts, and automatic network discovery, all backed by scalable licensing and excellent documentation that makes it accessible for both small and large environments.
What do you dislike about the product?
Maintenance support is no longer provided for perpetual licenses, and the shift to a subscription-based model requires a minimum three-year commitment, making it significantly more costly and less flexible for long-term users
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Limited visibility into server resources and network performance by providing real-time monitoring and alerting. This has benefited me by enabling proactive issue detection, reducing downtime, and improving overall system reliability and performance management.

Wonderful monitoring software for managing large number of sites remotely
What do you like best about the product?
PRTG makes it easy to monitor a large number of sites remotely. We have 50 sites across the east cost and a small IT staff. Before we were using PRTG, we relied on users reporting outages, which could be hours or sometimes even days. They are also easy to set timing of alerts.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a lot to set up all the network probes when first starting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PRTG lets us get ahead of network outages. It alerts us as soon as there is a problem and what circuit is having the issues. We have fiber and coax back ups at all our locations. Without PRTG, it would be hard to figure out just which piece of equipment was actually the issue.
