Couchbase DB usage as backend for mobile applications
What do you like best about the product?
Performance , scalability. Ease if use and support to instructured data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Administration, setup is bit tedious on Linux.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Couchbase was used as a backend for mobile applications developed for my clinet. This application was able to provide near realtime insights to driving instructors and strudents.

Performance of the database, Scalability, handling of non-semi structured data

Set up on the Linux is a bit complicated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use coucbase as a backend for 1 of our mobile application in the water supply utility industry for field engineers. It was very easy for field engineers to find solution using couchbase

What do you like best about the product?
Its an high performance scalabal edatabase with build in full text search and analytics.
What do you dislike about the product?
LEarning of N1QL is a bit of hastel for team new to couchbase. A bit complexity in environment setup.

We were abelt o handle large volume unstructured data. We used it as a destination DB for one of our mobile application in insurance industry for app usage analytics.

it's powerful, very flexible. additionally, I like SQL-like query language, which is familiar and easy to use

I don't like the complexity of setting up Couchbase

I like data's schema flexibility => you are not limited in any way in terms of format and scheme

Couchbase's powerful features, such as Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS) and Cross-Datacenter Replication (XDCR), can make the initial setup and ongoing management complex. For organizations without dedicated database administrators or significant expertise in Couchbase, this complexity can lead to steep learning curves and potential misconfigurations.

Traditional relational databases often struggle with scaling horizontally, particularly as data volumes and user traffic increase.Couchbase is built to scale horizontally by adding more nodes to a cluster. It handles large amounts of data and high-traffic loads efficiently by distributing data across multiple nodes.
This makes it easier to support growing applications without significant re-architecting or performance degradation. If you're working on applications that need to handle millions of users or petabytes of data, Couchbase can scale to meet those demands.

What do you like best about the product?
The most liked attemt to stay connect with Couchbase is the ease of work station. It is effortless to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Anything related to Couchbase is enough to attact data scientist where stability is better with time management of index building.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Couchbase easily retrive all the require data I need from my document database with high range of scalability.

Not very popular yet, difficult to build a case to use couchbase

It's flexible to support diverse use-cases, distributed scaling with json native feature, supporting modern application development.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cluster management, data validation and governance are the downsides of couchbase.

I used it for document AI needs, to extract intelligent candidates from the unstructured data powered by AI system and stored the results as kv pairs, integrated with enterprise apps to enable the business workflows.
Ease to use
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing I like about the couchbase is the it's ease of use. I've been using the artifical intelligence services created by couchbase using GenAI for my daily coding activity and it really comes in handy!
What do you dislike about the product?
While couchbase offer various features, but its intial setup and configuration can be challenging for a new user. Additionally, while the document is very well documented however lacks clarity in certain areas and making troubleshooting.

By using Couchbase, I benefit from its high availability and low latency, which are crucial for real-time applications. The platform’s ability to efficiently manage large volumes of data and provide quick access through its key-value store improves the overall responsiveness and reliability of applications. Furthermore, the ease of scaling Couchbase horizontally means that as data grows, performance remains consistent, ensuring a smooth user experience. This scalability and efficiency ultimately lead to better resource utilization and reduced operational costs.

when two or more hosts go down in larger data DB's then we seen trouble in accessing the data.

retriving is very fast when compared to RDBMS
