Powerful Unified Observability, but Onboarding Can Be Overwhelming for New Users

  • October 17, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about New Relic is its comprehensive, unified observability platform that provides real-time insights across the entire software stack. In a world where system complexity is increasing, New Relic simplifies monitoring by bringing together metrics, logs, traces, and events in a single pane of glass.
What do you dislike about the product?
One area where I believe New Relic has room for improvement is the complexity of initial setup and instrumentation, especially for teams new to observability. While the platform offers powerful capabilities, the onboarding process—configuring agents, dashboards, and alerts—can feel overwhelming without prior experience. That said, I’ve seen that New Relic continues to invest in improving documentation, automation, and guided experiences, which shows a commitment to addressing this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Comprehensive Monitoring and Fast Root-Cause Analysis with New Relic

  • October 17, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
My overall experience with New Relic has been positive. It provides deep visibility into application and infrastructure performance, with intuitive dashboards and powerful APM capabilities that make root-cause analysis much faster. The distributed tracing, alerting, and integration options with cloud services (like AWS and Kubernetes) have been especially helpful in proactive monitoring and reducing MTTR.
What do you dislike about the product?
While New Relic offers excellent visibility and analytics, its pricing model can be a bit complex and expensive for large-scale environments.
Additionally, the UI can feel cluttered at times, and navigating between APM, infrastructure, and logs could be more intuitive. Some dashboards also take time to load when handling large datasets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
New Relic has given us comprehensive visibility into our applications, infrastructure, and services. With its capabilities, we can quickly detect performance bottlenecks, identify errors, and monitor essential business transactions in real time. This has led to faster incident response, more efficient resource optimization, and an improved experience for our end users. The platform serves as a centralized hub for observability, allowing us to monitor application performance, track infrastructure metrics, and follow distributed traces. Our DevOps team benefits from being able to swiftly identify latency issues, analyze logs and traces, and correlate metrics across different services. As a result, we have seen a notable reduction in our Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR) and have gained greater confidence in our system reliability and deployments. The enhanced visibility into performance and errors allows us to perform root-cause analysis more quickly and resolve issues proactively, which has ultimately led to better uptime and increased user satisfaction.

Comprehensive Observability with Powerful Insights, but Requires Planning and Expertise

  • October 13, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Real-time monitoring and alerting have been instrumental in allowing us to quickly detect and address issues before they affect our users. The detailed insights into application performance, especially the option to drill down into specific transactions and traces, are incredibly useful. Additionally, the customizable dashboards and smooth integrations with other tools, along with the flexibility to design personalized views, contribute greatly to its versatility.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial setup can be quite complex, as configuring agents and integrations often takes considerable time, especially for those new to the platform. The pricing model is another concern, since costs may rise rapidly as data ingestion increases, which makes it difficult to predict expenses. Additionally, there is a notable learning curve for advanced features, with some functionalities demanding substantial time and expertise to utilize effectively.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
New Relic has been instrumental in helping us tackle performance visibility and reliability issues throughout our applications and infrastructure. With its real-time monitoring, comprehensive transaction tracing, and proactive alerting, we have been able to significantly decrease our mean time to resolution (MTTR). As a result, our system uptime has improved, the user experience has been enhanced, and our teams are now better equipped to make informed, data-driven decisions regarding capacity planning and optimization.

Reliable observability suite for modern monitoring needs

  • October 11, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
New Relic delivers real-time and in-depth monitoring across our entire technology stack, making it easy to visualize application and infrastructure health through highly customizable dashboards. The anomaly detection and automated alerts help proactively resolve issues before they impact end users, and integrations with other tools are quick to set up. Overall, New Relic enables fast, data-driven decisions and reduces manual troubleshooting by providing actionable insights.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform has a learning curve, especially when using advanced features like distributed tracing and custom dashboards, which can require additional training for new users. The pricing model is sometimes confusing, with separate charges for different modules and data limits, so it’s important to monitor usage and understand the billing details. Documentation updates can lag behind new feature releases, leading to occasional onboarding challenges.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
New Relic is helping us address several key challenges related to performance monitoring, incident troubleshooting, and maintaining a superior customer experience across large-scale cloud applications.
Using New Relic, our teams can proactively monitor application and infrastructure health to quickly identify performance bottlenecks and anomalies before they impact customers. For example, real-time tracking of transactions—like order processing or checkout flows—helps pinpoint slow queries and resource-intensive processes, enabling engineers to optimize code and system resources for a seamless user experience.
The ability to visualize dependencies, receive automated alerts, and drill down into incidents with distributed tracing drastically reduces investigation times and minimizes downtime for Commerce and Experience Manager platforms. This comprehensive observability ensures that service reliability and scalability goals are met while empowering teams to deliver quality software and new features faster, directly benefiting both the business and its customers
