What do you dislike about the product?
not always clear as a user which events we can edit and which we can't.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Resource Management
I am satisfied with Float. I appreciate that it allows for clear and efficient resource planning.
What do you like best about the product?
Very simple Drag&Drop + Jira integration
What do you dislike about the product?
I miss the possibility to create a Jira ticket in Float.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are working on many projects on which many people and teams work together at the same time. Thanks to Float, all managers can see in one place what the team's workload is planned for a longer period in advance.
Easy and beneficial to use
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to colour code and adapt the blocks of time for different tasks. I also like how the blocks of time are different sizes depending on how much time has been allocated (our previous software didn't have this). Being able to slide blocks of time around is also very convenient.
It was very easy to set up at the beginning as well, we had no trouble learning how to use the software.
We've not yet had to use customer support, but that's a good thing. If I ever did feel like I needed to, I would feel comfortable with reaching out.
We use this everyday, with ease, and it's definitely not as painful to use as our previous software. No one likes filling in their time sheets but Float does make it that little bit better.
I personally don't use any of the intergration tools, but I am percetly happy just keeping Float as its own thing on my desktop browser.

What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit fiddly to see how much time is left in my schedule when plotting tasks in resource meetings. You need to slide that grey bar at the top across to see how much time you're over or under by, and it's a little bit annoying. I would like to be able to see the exact minutes or hours for each day. It can also be a bit annoying when time is allocated across a whole week and it doesn't split it up into daily blocks, it makes the week look all janky and unorganised. What would also be really useful is being able to plan tasks according to time, I use my Google cal to plot tasks for each day/week, but if you could do this in Float I wouldn't need to be tracking time in two different places.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I, personally, hate time sheets and don't think they benefit me that much because I don't often work on commercial projects, so most of my hours aren't billable. It is of course really helpful for my team, and they can make sure that they are able to scope projects and time accurately, which is helpful as an employee.
Float is a useful tool to help organize out Team schedule
What do you like best about the product?
Float helps our team to plot and track current and new projects, to track and manage time, as well monitoring project budgets.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great to have an edit feature for logged time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Team project schceduling and personal time management.
Overall positives!
What do you like best about the product?
Outside of the platforms ability to integrate relatively easy, I think that the ability customize colors is really beneficial for clarity.
What do you dislike about the product?
This might be something that is possible to adjust and I may not be aware of it, but I find it quite frustrating that other members of the team can adjust time allocation that I have put in without me approving on it. It would be great if there was more of an approval process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Float solves a lot of our challenges with resource allocation across a number of complex projects.
Simple and Effective Time Tracking and Scheduling Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Float offers us the scheduling and time tracking capabilities of other platforms such as Smartsheet Scheduling (formerly 10,000ft) without the bloat or extra costs of these larger suites. For a smaller team, it provides everything we need, and nothing we don't.
The customer support team were excellent during the on boarding process. We were even able to discuss a couple of feature requests and were glad to hear they were already in the works.
I am now using Float to plan out my teams work over the two week sprints. We all then use it to clock our time daily. The reporting feature is fantastic to keep an eye on project budgets and analyse where any issues around workload or deadlines might arise.

What do you dislike about the product?
Quite a few of best features are hidden without any documentation or tutorial on them (such as holding shift and clicking on a time entry will allow you to duplicate it), and some have to work in a specific way to get right. But it's still a new product and evolving all the time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Previously we were only doing time tracking with no real way to analyse the data. Now we can use Float to not only track our time, but analyse it against project budgets, forecast work to see if we calculating those budgets correctly, and easily present the teams workloads to upper management.
Float helps me to effectively manage my schedule
What do you like best about the product?
Float helps me to effectively manage my schedule, as well as to delegate tasks, in a way that Outlook alone simply doesn't allow for
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a bit slow at times, and a bit buggy
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Float helps me to prioritise tasks based on urgency and budget
Senior designer
What do you like best about the product?
The user experience, how it made my working week smoother and more effective
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing I can think of specifically. Maybe the price? It could be cheaper.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been using float for over a year now and we can see the impact that has had on our team. More transparency and clearer plan for the week.
Easy and intuitive
What do you like best about the product?
Lightweight and easy to use interface which is crucial for a tool I use daily. It has all the features I need for tracking time across team members and quickly identifying capacity. Including float in our workflow was straightforward and we were supported during onboarding.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not much I can think of at the moment. It would be great if there was an easy way to integrate with google calendar.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking and reporting time and identifying unused capacity. Easy resource allocation for new projects.
Planning is good, logging not
What do you like best about the product?
I like the planning tool the most. As a developer I always see directly on which project I'm planned on
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the logging. It is difficult to adjust the start time if you forgot to push the start button. Further, the two types of logging hinder each other. For example, if you push the start button, then you see the old suggested logging time still in the popup window.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Earlier we used Excel for the planning which was really difficult to use. Float is much better. Further, the roles (planning, customer) within the company are better visualised and more usable.
