Float’s Intuitive UI Sets a New Standard for Design

  • October 28, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
In my opinion, the UI/UX team at Float has truly perfected the page design. Every element, including the icons, clearly conveys its function, making the interface highly intuitive. The layout is not cluttered; instead, it achieves an excellent balance between functionality and aesthetics.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would really appreciate it if the team could add a delete button to the log time section. When deleting a time entry for a specific day, it would be helpful if the system asked whether we want to apply the same deletion to the entire week or month. Additionally, Float currently does not prompt to update the Schedule section when we increase the logged time in the Log section. It would be a great improvement if increasing logged time in one section automatically reflected in the Schedule section as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the past, we relied on a timer to log our time, which required us to manually start and stop it. This process was quite inefficient, as we constantly had to check the application to ensure it was actually recording our hours. I find that Float offers a much better approach, allowing us to schedule our tasks and log them for an entire month in advance. This not only saves time and effort but also helps us manage our workload more effectively. It's truly a lifesaver.

Organized, Easy, and Accurate—A Pleasure to Use

  • October 28, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Clean, user-friendly interface

Excellent visualization of team workload and availability

Integrations with popular tools (Jira, Asana, Slack, etc.)

Mobile app and great support for remote teams

Strong data security and GDPR compliance
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited advanced features / reporting

For example:
It lacks certain reports and integrations, most importantly in the revenue tracking and headcount allocation space.

Customization can be limited

Cost concerns for smaller teams

Mobile experience / plus minor UI issues
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Difficulty visualizing who is working on what and when provides a visual schedule so you can see team availability, assignments and capacity in one place.
Over-booking or under-utilizing team members, With live capacity indicators and alerts for over-capacity, you can avoid burnout or idle time.
Difficulty matching the right skill-set to the right task. Float allows you to tag team members by skills, filter by those tags and allocate accordingly.
Planning based on spreadsheets or disconnected tools, gives a central hub for resource scheduling rather than fragmented data.

Great for Team Bonding, But Some Questions Feel Awkward

  • October 28, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It gives the team an opportunity to meet once a week and chat.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times, the weekly questions can feel a bit tricky, such as when you're asked, 'What's better, being early or late?' In situations like that, you can't really answer 'late,' especially if your boss is present!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows the team to communicate issues without feeling pressured.

Intuitive Resource Management, but Reporting Needs Improvement

  • October 28, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Float is how intuitive and easy to use it is. The interface is clean and well designed, making it simple to plan, allocate, and adjust resources without needing much training or setup time. Implementation was straightforward, and it integrated smoothly with our existing tools, which helped us get up and running quickly. I also appreciate the range of features available, from capacity planning to time tracking, which give a clear, real-time view of team workload and project timelines. Overall, Float strikes a great balance between functionality and usability, making it a reliable tool for managing resources efficiently. The fact there is an API is a bonus.
What do you dislike about the product?
One aspect I find frustrating about Float is that the reporting features can be somewhat complex to navigate, and the results for hours tracked are not always entirely accurate. This often means I have to spend additional time adjusting or double-checking the data, which makes the reporting process less seamless compared to the rest of the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Float helps us solve several key challenges around project management, resource planning, and time tracking. It gives us a clear view of who is working on what and when, making scheduling across multiple projects and teams much easier. By centralising capacity and workload information, it helps ensure that people aren’t overbooked and that projects stay on track. The built-in time tracking also makes it simpler to compare planned versus actual hours, improving our forecasting and overall efficiency. Overall, Float has streamlined how we manage people, projects, and time, giving us better visibility and control over our resources.

Speed of the UI and API make it fast to add projects and get planning quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
No baseline Gantt comparison means you can't track performance in a visual way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping on top of all team projects. With a high daily mix Float makes it easy to see an overview and drill into individual projects.

Effortless Setup and Integration, But Needs Event Flexibility

  • October 28, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate how easy Float is to set up. It made a smooth transition for our team when we moved from a more agile to a micromanagement style. The integration with Jira and Outlook is a standout feature for me, as it simplifies resource planning by effortlessly syncing calendars and tasks. This capability helps keep everything organized and easily accessible. The reminders or capacity warnings are incredibly useful for proactively managing workloads across the team. Float's functions have been indispensable in helping us with forward planning and resource management, offering clear visibility into everyone’s capacity. The seamless integration with essential tools like Jira makes Float even more valuable for our workflow. Overall, Float has been beneficial in enhancing our work planning and team organization over the several years we've been using it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it challenging to deal with repeating events in Float. When someone doesn't work on a particular day and then decides to move that day, it's difficult to edit a single event and add a new one without disrupting everything. If I move something, it tends to shift everything in flow, and reversing this is hard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Float for resource management, forward planning, and assessing capacity. It streamlines team organization by integrating with Jira and Outlook, providing capacity warnings, and enhancing work planning efficiency.

Great for Planning Ahead, But UI Needs Clarity

  • October 28, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's a great tool to be able to see what I'll be doing for the upcoming weeks. Without it I might not have as clear of an idea of what i was doing.
What do you dislike about the product?
The first time I used it, I didn't realize I needed to scroll down to see my name. I think the UI could be clearer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Knowing what I'll be doing in the future and tracking my hours.
