Easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
I like how there is a way to indicate which project I am on and use colors to show which category the project is.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't see any downsides. It's very simple and helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Many people have numerous projects and Float helps them to keep track of how much of their time is allocated for each one.
Good UI for Resource Allocating
What do you like best about the product?
Great UI and UX. Color schemes are pleasing. The functionality works how you would expect with a little bit more. It's just smart.
What do you dislike about the product?
The comfortable row heights are a little too big in my opinion but easy adjustment. Horizontal scrolling can be a little counterintuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Letting my managers and PMs know what my intended days off are. I think it makes it easier to plot and plan for teams and individuals.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Stop using Google Docs and spreadsheets and use Float!

The upsides of the Float:
- usability and friendly UI/UX, it's intuitive, the workflows are streamlined and clear;
- the reporting system is perfect, gives statistics needed, flexible enough to solve problems of different stakeholders;
- excellent performance, availability and stability, we've never met service operation interruption.

What do you dislike about the product?
There are no downsides of the product features.
The product can be enhanced, we found missing features that can be very helpful:
- non-billable resources when some portion of resource availability isn't billed to a customer;
- vacations, sick leaves approval workflows will allow to use it by all staff, not only management;
- removed resources limited visibility, e.g. some resources can be moved to another project but are visible in the current project's resource group, but can be hidden or collapsed;
There are workarounds that are used to resolve the absent features.

- resource reports preparation that came 'out of the box' and easy to use
- resource availability forecast, including tracking of country holidays, vacations, sick leaves, other occasions that affect resource availability

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it as a good tool for Project and Resource managers mainly. It can be a single point of truth regarding resource pool availability and utilization, eliminate the need to maintain a number of tracking and reporting spreadsheets.
The reporting system can be used by accountants or billers to prepare invoices in case you use the T&M contracts.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to schedule, move items around, and color code to make the schedule easier to read. I also like the fact that they keep improving the product - recently adding excellent depth to project management pieces.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only negative we ever experienced was slow performance - lag - but that's been resolved and it's now very responsive.

Scheduling people on customer and internal projects, and tracking resource allocation and availability.
The best planning system i've used
What do you like best about the product?
I like the filtering options the most - you can filter by people/projects and/or add your own filters (that can be saved and visible only for you)

The only thing that was annoying me so far - is the loading time that is taking way too long sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Float is primarily used for scheduling the work for me and my colleagues in the company I'm currently working for.
Great tool for team planning!
What do you like best about the product?
We have a fast changing workload so the scheduling feature and ease of managing that is great. It is easuy to see what projects are in production, and who is working on everything. For our Head of Production there is an easy way to see our needs and allocate the team as needed. Individual team members can easily see what tasks or projects they are working on and who they are working with.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not too many cons. It would be nice to bulk add time off and there have been some bugs that seem to be not affecting us now.

Allows us to easily resolve scheduling conflicts.
