Great Value, Good Potential
What do you like best about the product?
I really like how intuitive Float is. I like how you can overview many different projects at the same time and keep track of the progress on each of them.
It's also very useful that you can get reports for overtime, holidays and production time spent on each job.

What do you dislike about the product?
I think it still has a lots of areas to improve (but so fat it's going in the right direction!).
I think the reports part could be improved as it includes too much information.
I also think the font used on the pencils is not very easy to read.
I think it would also help if we could see the details of each booking when we hoover over it with our mouse.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's proved to be crucial to keep a daily record of what our team is doing and how much to charge for each project that we've been working on. It's helping us to be more organised and be able to accommodate bigger projects.

Great tool to keep schedules simple and uncomplicated, even when scheduling complicated projects.

What do you like best about the product?
I find Float incredibly easy to use. I can easily see what I'm meant to be working on and when, and I like that I can change the way I view the information. i.e. by person, by project, etc. The different views are clear and uncluttered and I like that there aren't any unnecessary frills. There is good help available if needed, like video tutorials etc. as well. In my current role I am only a user but I imagine I will use more functions of the software when I move up to a higher level role.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I had to say I disliked something, I would have a hard time finding something to dislike!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's a much better way to keep track of who is working on what project. I've previously worked in roles where we used Excel or other basic software but it wasn't efficient. Float saves time.

Sometimes if found it to be a bit too simple for work tasks. Features such as a checklist/ways to break down into subtasks would be useful

Use for managing simple straightforward tasks. There are more suited tools out there for more complexity.

Provide overview of the entire current and future workload for resource planning.

Some limitations as float is sometimes not that intuitive.

One of the better project management tools out there
What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can split bookings so every day is defined with the precise hours required on that resource, rather than a large blanket booking. I like that there are unlimited colour choices for each user, and one can easily identify each resource's role in the company. I like that you can easily see when someone is overallocated.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the extra step that one must take to add a new client and new project. It's an additional step that I find too cumbersome and not user friendly. I also don't like that there isn't a simple "duplicate" button, rather, you must split it and then move it to a different resource.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've discovered that larger companies need something like Float so we can be more precise with booking. Since time management is crucial in the production industry, we appreciate that you can be more accurate in bookings.

Float is one of the more user friendly project management tools out there. It's still got its kinks and difficulty, but one can get the hang of it after two weeks.

What do you like best about the product?
Very simple and extremely fast to use interface. I picked up how to create customers, projects, tasks and to schedule them without using the help documentation or customer support. It is very intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like little additional features here and there but adding features naturally increases complexity so I cant really complain. The ability to see things offline occasionally would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are planning design and manufacturing tasks / workload using it. It is giving us visibility of our capacity bottle necks and communicating overall plans to everyone.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the trial and see if it meets your needs. Dont expect bells and whistles. It is quick, easy to use and effective because it is so simple.

What do you like best about the product?
I found Float really easy to set up & a great way to track resource through the department.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing missing for me is a financial tracking system

We had no overview of workload through the department, Float has solved this & made it really easy for all to know what they are working on.

IF you need a straight forward tool to track resource float is the one.
Quick and easy
What do you like best about the product?
Float is very quick and easy to use and add activities in. I find the usability one of the best aspects of Float, as it is simple to teach and learn, which makes it so easy to implement. The last thing you need is to add cumbersome processes and time consuming activities to an already busy team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think many of the issues I originally had with Float have been fixed or new features added in the time I have been using it. New updates and features have overcome some of the complicate menus and streamlined the process for adding new tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team are getting a very good idea on where our time is going and what clients or activities are taking the most time. It's able to track how much time is going into our own management and processes and how much time is going to client work. We don't use it a lot for forecasting, but would like to get there one day. At this stage it is very helpful in providing a log of our time.
